Went here for the first time today, and was greeted by Lisa when I walked through the door. She and her employees are very friendly and make you feel right at home. We had the cream of asparagus soup and the bacon ranch cheeseburger soup, both were excellent. We also had the reuben and the zesty turkey sandwiches, both were very good and I will have both of those again. This restaurant is a hidden gem. They have the best Reuben sandwich in all of Montana and Wyoming. The staff is extremely friendly, welcoming, and nice. I enjoyed my conversation with them while I was waiting for my order to go. The Reuben was excellent. I had the ordinal sauce and a honey mustard, both on the side so I could try it both ways. I couldn't tell which I liked better. The chili was stellar too. The seating area had a homey feeling. The bar chairs, chairs, and booths are comfortable. Overall this is an excellent choice. First off, when calling my order in, I spoke with the owner...Lisa! Lisa is an amazing person with such positive energy it is contagious! Sweet sweet Lady. I ordered the Ruben sandwich. Not sure where the 4 and 5 stars come from...service is friendly...quaint shop downtown but food is a hard no. I wish if salads were an after thought they just wouldn't have them. Billings isn't a small town (Montana standards) but some places still have that small town feel. That's what I found here. Just a block off the main street, Lisa's Sandwich Den was a last minute decision for a late lunch. It was just after the lunch rush when I came in. There were only a couple of tables occupied so I had time to soak up the atmosphere and peruse the menu. Classic sandwich shop. That day the Reuben caught my eye. It was either a fluke or a good choice, because it was a near ideal balance of corned beef and sauerkraut. The kraut could have been more "sour" though, but that's just my preference. The dressing -- a thousand island style -- was served on the side... which I prefer. It had a heavy pickle flavor and its tanginess a nice balance for the Swiss cheese. Oddly, the pickle slice served with the sandwich was bland and not very good. That was the one miss. The ordinary potato chips accompanying the sandwich were just that ... ordinary. Perhaps that's what made the sandwich stand out. The rye bread was real rye bread. It tasted like the genuine thing and I hope it wasn't my imagination because it pulled everything together. I had forgotten what real rye tastes like and how it can complement the flavor of what's inside the sandwich. Okay, so I probably need to stop rhapsodizing about this sandwich. I am visiting Billings for the first time because my mom is in the hospital. Found Lisa's online and walked in. Everyone was so friendly and took the time I was waiting for my to-go order to get to know me and it meant a lot. Then I ate the sandwich (reuben) and it was really delicious. Sauce on the side which is great because it helps keep the bread. Meat was tender, hot and cheesy and just what I wanted. Lisa herself made my sandwich and couldn't have been lovelier. Food is probably really good.. I wish I could have tried it but after waiting 20 minutes, I had to get back to work. I got there at 12:05,. gave my order and waited until 12:25 at which point I left. Not a place to get a quick bite. Food was probably good because people were calling ahead so much that when I gave my order, 2 callers cut in front of me because the girl had to pick up the phone while taking my order,. kind of put me off... . Have been here many times for lunch with coworkers. I've tried French Dip Sandwich, Reuben Sandwich, Turkey Club, and many of their soups. They are always filling and the service is quick. They staff is always friendly and attentive. Finishing off with a baked cookie is never bad either. read more

Solid, basic sandwiches (3 stars means average, not bad - everyone seems to forget that on Yelp). The turkey club had all the usual components, of which the bacon was the best. This is a small, local lunch joint that's perfect for casual business lunches! Or at least that's why we were there. The service was quick and the sandwiches are great. Such great sandwiches that are humongous! Lisa was super sweet and also had a bunch of University of Montana merchandise hung up, Go Griz! Only thing that was disappointing was the Avocado on all the sandwiches was actually guacamole. Other than that they were amazing! read more
