Driving through Billings and. Wanted a late lunch at someplace we couldn't get at home. The price has definitely gone up up from the pictures on yelp and Google. Now it is $12.99 plus drinks for the soup and salad buffet, there were plenty of choices of soup, 5 everyday ones and 2 specials. I tried the Swiss cheeseburger soup which was nice, thick creamy broth, hamburger and potatoes and other veggies, if I had stuck with just that soup I would have been fine, but I tried the tomato basil soup and immediately something was off, there was a strong flavor of raw garlic, was only able to get down 2 bites. The bread sticks although nice were cold, the salad bar was fresh, but some of the salads should have been labeled, I put potato salad on my plate thinking it was Waldorf salad imagine my surprise when those lovely chunks were not apple, but potato . The dill pickles were exceptionally sour, good if you like them that way. read more

We stopped in hoping to have a nice bowl of soup in their seating area but we were told the seating was only for customers who purchased the buffet and if we only wanted soup it would need to be to go. There was plenty of open seating and a large soup was $6.99 so still a profitable sale. I can't remember ever being told my purchase wasn't good enough to consume in the restaurant. So we ate our family dinner elsewhere. Today we decided on Soup and Such for lunch. We introduced my Mother-In-Law to Soup and Such for the first time and she liked it as much as we do. Good service today from paying for our meals (using our frequent eaters card where we saved a dollar on a drink and earned one free meal), to dirty dish pick up, tables were bussed quickly and hot bread sticks were brought to our tables. All you can eat soup and salad for $8.99. Seven soups to choose from and try. Five are available all the time and two change daily. Corn chowder, baked potato, creamy tomato, chili and chicken noodle were some of the choices. All were delicious, hot and tasty. The salad bar is gigantic with just about every ingredient you could think of for a salad bar, including some pasta items, a variety of fruit, even pickles. All fresh and very tasty. Soup and Such is a great restaurant, an unlimited soup and salad buffet for $8.50! As you walk in, the checkout counter is to the right, and you pay before you eat. Seating is as you like. The tables are all pretty small (for 2), but maneuverable, so you can accommodate large parties, we had 6. Towards the back of the restaurant is a giant salad bar, with practically anything you would want to have on a salad. My only complaint about the salad bar is the size of the plate, which is quite small. You can't get salad greens and a sampling of the plethora of toppings on one plate. However, it is a buffet, so return trips are welcome. The soup was great. There were approximately 8 soups on tap during our visit, 4 of which were Gluten Free, including the clam chowder, potato bacon, spinach artichoke, and chili. There were several others like chicken noodle and tomato basil that were not GF. In addition, the staff were very attentive to the customers, ensuring everything was to their liking and providing bread sticks on demand. We finally popped in to see if there is anything here we can eat - something that is gluten free and dairy free. The only option we had the day we went was a salad bar, and we can pretty much get salad anywhere. This is a "serve yourself" style place, and was super packed when we were there. You also pay one price and get all you can eat, and it seemed expensive to me, especially considering the limited food choices. If you get something to go, you have to make sure you leave right away. I wasn't a huge fan, but I can see why others like it. If you aren't super into health - i.e. are ok eating a really fatty, dairy heavy soup, or want to sit in a super loud spot with little available seating, this place is fine. I love soup, and I have been on the lookout for a great soup spot with even just 2 soup choices that are healthy (no dairy, no wheat), but still on the search. read more

This is an awesome soup and salad place. Today was the first time at this location but I'm really glad we came. It was really busy but we had no trouble waiting for 2 tables to accommodate all 8 of us. Everyone that works here is friendly and constantly stay busy cleaning tables, restocking, making sure food serving areas stay clean, and checking on customers. During lunch hour there were lots of people but it was a quick turnover so seating wasn't an issue. Seemed like many were regulars on a lunch break. Soups are a little salty for my taste but still tasty and it didn't stop me from eating them, just in moderation. Breadsticks galore were handed out! Plenty of friendly employees enthusiastically greeting me and the other patrons and frequently checking in to see how everything tasted. First off I want to say that this is specifically for the Shiloh store. The store downtown is worth a 4 or 5 stars. I'm lactose intolerant so have to be careful on what I get and let me tell you what. If they can't make it with cream it just doesn't happen. Usually chicken noodle soup is a good choice but not here, the noodles are just mush. Probably from heating too long, I've come in earlier in the day and they are much better. They do have a soup that is a veggie/bean soup that would be a soup of the day which is fabulous. Salad bar is tasty and has plenty of choices. The breadsticks need to be baked longer too. All and all it is okay but I generally skip unless I'm really feeling "healthy". read more

Two of us made the mistake of putting soda in our little 8 oz glass instead of water and soon the owner/manager was standing over us making a big deal about it and went so far as to dump the soda and bring us water. Nice selection of salad toppings artichoke hearts, baby corn, beans, (black, kiney, or garbanzo)several types of cheese, real bacon bits, sunflower seeds, eggs, peas, peppers, sprouts, pickles, and beets, pasta snd potato salads, every kond of salad dressing i can think of and so much more. although this location doesn't cut or tear their Romaine lettuce very small, they also have iceberg and spinach to choose from as well. The soups are good, i love the tomato, but only do a small portion so i can try the other flavors. I always finish of my meal with a "dessert" of cottage cheese and fruit... highly recommend, We eat here probably once a week. read more

Employees are nice and friendly. I would have given 5 stars if it hadn't been for the lack of a half wall in the men's restroom.
