This is another place that my wife and I came to for restaurant week. We have been looking to dine here for a while now and this was the perfect opportunity. This shop is also just a 10 minute drive from my house down Jericho Tpke with an easy in and out and plenty of parking. We were warmly greeted and immediately brought to our table. It is a very comfortable atmosphere here. Our very efficient server came right over to our table, greeted us and brought water, chips, olives and bread. We are no newcomers to the Portuguese menu and within a minute knew exactly what we were having from the RW menu of authentic Portuguese food. It was an easy choice (there are plenty of pictures to show our meal) As a note... I did not notice reduced size portion for restaurant week. Appetizers: - Onion Soup - Ameijoas a Portuguesa - steamed clams with port sausage, peppers and onions Entree: - Paella Marinheira - seafood combo with saffron rice - Chicken Princesa - sauteed chicken breast with asparagus and mozzarella - Steamed vegetables for the table Desert: - Flan - Cheesecake Everything was fantastic-fresh-tasty. Very nice service, never had to ask to refill water and beverages. The grilled octopus is yum entree and so is the lamb chops. And the salad is delish, the seafood soup is delish. The food was okay. The service was very slow even though there was only one other couple having lunch the Time we went. We ordered a few things. I really loved their caldo verde, and the steak with mushrooms. The pork with clams were a little too salty. The flan was good too! One of my favorite restaurants on Long Island the food is just spectacular. Every meal, have done dinners and lunch have been just wonderful. You can tell the fresh ingredients that are used. The owner Eric (I think that's his name) is super friendly and always greets us with a smile...it's like going over to a friend's house for dinner lol We usually sit inside but due to coronamona we opted for the outdoor seating. They've done a great job setting up shop in their parking lot. The three highlights here are the paella, the lamb chops and the hot sauce! This hot sauce is no joke and should be handled with caution LOL. Our paella takes a while to prepare which I'm fine with b/c it's worth the wait. First time we have been to this restaurant. I read some good reviews about the food but saw negative comments on service. Well they weren't lying. Our waiter was so careless and clueless it made for a entertaining evening. The hostess wasn't present for 10 min at the front with a group of four different reservations waiting. Food was bad. Shrimp cocktail was served thrown on a plate , no ice, no cocktail glass, and room temperature. Fish was covered in sauce and bland. My girlfriend had salmon which was fresh but tasteless. First the food - wonderful paella and apps (we got the Portuguese sausage and grilled octopus). Wife had steak and shrimp which was awesome and friend had baby lamp chops and wife had grilled snapper. All terrific and no complaints...food after we ordered came out in an expected timeframe. Ambiance and atmosphere were nice. Everything else (service) not so good. Once seated we were given menus and we waited and waited, and waited....finally someone comes over and asks if anyone took our order and then we waited another 5 mins....seems like forever when your hungry. At end of the meal it took a long time to clear dishes and order desserts. Bartender (not busy) turned waiter never looked our way. Same experience with the check. On way out, friend asked if we're coming back and we both agreed "no". We'll spend our $400 (4 people with drinks) money elsewhere. Shame, they lost customers. I won't go back. read more

Was excited to come here for my birthday lunch with a group of 12 today. 2 of us enjoyed our emails. There were serious, serious flaws much of the food. Service was good. Online lunch menu mentions different cuts of steak, but when you walk in your only option is shell steak. A huge piece of rough and tough shell steak. Inedible. However because it took so long to come out, and we were a group of 12 on lunch break - our many complaints were not made. I was one of the lucky few who ordered the rack of lamb and enjoyed it. Salmon was also reportedly good. Unfortunately, this was not the case for the rest of my unhappy party. Poor choice by me. Will not be back. read more

What happened to Lisbon Cafe? Plenty of changes and all were bad. Potato chips - gone! Salad - gone? Professional servers and management - gone. Prices way up. Value way down. Our meals were ok but no better than that. Servers didn't have a clue. Appetizers came out with no plates to eat them on. Entree orders were carefully given but 3 of 4 came out wrong. Managers acted as if we were eating in a bad diner. The Westbury location closed awhile ago. Looks like Jericho will follow them out. read more

Lisbon Café offers authentic Portuguese menu with a variety of wonderful seafood selections. Some of my favorite's dishes include their rack of lamb and grilled octopus. Sangria would be considered a popular choice of beverage or their variety of white wines which pair well with their dishes. . The restaurant has two sections to dine; the bar area is situated to your right once you enter the front entrance while the dining room is located to your left. The dining room has an amazingly comfortable home dining ambience but can be loud when the room is crowded. Once seated, one will find a basket of fresh baked bread, homemade potato chips, and a bowl of olives along with attentive friendly service. For dinner, our party ordered the following: Shrimp in green sauce, breast of chicken with port & mushrooms, grilled seafood combo, and the Paelha valenciana. All the dishes were wonderful, but I thought the grilled seafood combo was exceptional. It was once again a delightful dining experience with friends, and one would be quite pleased with the price for dinning at Lisbon Cafe. read more

From the time we were greeted till we said goodby and parted company, LC treated us like Royalty. Party of 4 we reserved our fav booth in corner and it was waiting for us when we arrived. I cant say enough about Jack and the crew cause they take such good care of us. The Appys we always order are the Garlic Shrimp and the Chorizo....both outstanding. 3 of us got the Special Veal Chop and Lobster Combo and of course I got my Goat in the Pot....all delish!! I really enjoyed my recent experience at the Lisbon Cafe. A couple of coworkers and I had decided on an impromptu dinner after work and we scrambled to find a nearby restaurant on Yelp. We saw that this place was located just down the road and had some great reviews and photos so why not give it a shot. We were able to get seated without reservations at around 6PM on a weeknight. We preferred to eat outdoors and they had a very nice setup towards the rear/side of the building. It got comfortably crowded towards 7PM. We all had seafood dishes. I ordered the clams as an appetizer which were very tasty in a garilc/oil sauce and for my main course I got the grilled octopus. The octopus was one of the best I've had as it was perfectly tender. My peers both ordered their special paella. Neither was able to finish because the portions were large but they had an awesome leftover lunch the next day! The only downfall in my opinion was that there was only valet parking in a parking lot where it isn't really necessary. I hate when valet parking is forced upon the customers. Also it's easy to miss if you're driving fast. Nonetheless I can't wait to go back here. The food and service were both awesome! read more

Amazing dinner last night at Lisbon Cafe! We had driven up from Delaware to see a show at the Westbury Music Center and found this place. Our server, Louie, was very personable and friendly. We had ordered a martini that had pineapple juice in it and were told they were out of pineapple juice. So we ordered a different drink...lo and behold 15 minutes later the martini comes to the table, on the house!!!! The manager sent someone out to get pineapple juice and was so kind to send the drink to us! The food was outstanding . We started with the seafood stuffed mushrooms which were very tasty. I had the grilled pork chop topped with asparagus and mozzarella and my partner had the salmon with champagne sauce. My pork was super tender and juicy and perfectly cooked. I could have used a butter knife to cut through it. Probably top 3 pork chops I've had in my life. We met the new owner on our way out who was super nice. If you are in the area, give the place a chance! We will be back next time we are on Long Island! read more

A perfect place for a Holiday dinner out or even a regular celebration. One of my office mates is a frequent guest , she highly recommended the place as our venue for tonight's dinner. Our party got a package price for a very reasonable and affordable amount. Package included the following: 1.Portuguese chips, olives and bread roll were on the table when we arrived. 2. Unlimited sangria ( white and red) serving and red / white wine bottles were served to us while waiting for the rest of the group. 3. Variety of appetizers - Portuguese sausage, boiled mussels, stuffed clam and mushrooms, mozzarella and tomatoes , calamari and shrimp with cognac sauce were served family style like. 4. Garden Salad 5. Main entree( pick from the list) 6. Dessert of our choice. 7.Coffee or tea. We were overwhelmed with the serving portions and the wait staff gladly packed for us our dinner leftovers. It was my first time trying a Portuguese cuisine and I was not disappointed. Foods are flavorful that satisfied my taste buds liking. The staff is very pleasant, attentive and friendly. The place is very homey and has decent decors. The restaurant location is easy to find and ample parking for patrons is available. During the course of dining, the head waiter noticed one of my office mates did not take much of the seafood appetizers and asked her immediately if there was something wrong. She mentioned that she is not a fan and grilled veggies were put out for her after few minutes in the amount that the whole party could share. At the end of our dinner, a complimentary Portuguese shots and toast were given to our party with a heartfelt thanks for coming. A recommended place for dining. I would like to inform everyone this restaurant is no longer called Lisbon Cafe. The name of this restaurant is LISBON GRILLE! We enjoyed a party for First Holy Communion and Baptism. Max was extremely helpful and did not rush us out of his restaurant. We were scheduled to start at 2pm but was held up in church and didn't arrive until 2:30. Everything was perfect. The food was delicious. Octopus was so tender. Stuffed seafood mushrooms so good. Paella and rigatoni Al vodka with chicken or shrimp. So many choices. Everyone enjoyed themselves. You will not be disappointed having dinner here. Ask for Max and tell them Michele sent you. Remember this restaurant is now called Lisbon Grille on Jericho Turnpike in Jericho, NY. Updating my review since I finally got a chance to come here myself, after hearing great things from my family. This was for my grandma's 95th birthday, and Jack & staff treated her like royalty once again. The outdoor patio is beautiful- it is impressive this is what they did to accomodate guests safely due to covid since the restaurant itself is very small. They have tents and umbrellas for shade, and beautiful greenery/flowers for decor you almost forget you're technically in the parking lot. We got a tent separated from everyone else which made us feel safe social distancing from other guests. Plus every staff member was wearing masks at all times and they reminded 2 guests who got up to put on their masks when they almost forgot. Love the homemade chips they put out, and the rice & veges they give complimentary during the meal. I'm not a big meat/fish eater so I totally wasted my first fun Portugese restaurant experience on a pasta dish- got the rigatoni alfredo with chicken because I'm basic like that. It was good, def creamy- mostly onions in it but honestly I really liked adding the broccoli from the vege platter. My family's dishes all looked amazing especially my mom's paella..I know my husband loved the buttery sauce with his lobster. My mom had mentioned to Jack its my grandma's birthday, so not only did he greet her in the parking lot to say happy birthday, but when it was dessert time he brought her a sliver of chocolate cake/whipped cream/ice cream along with a plate of the same for each of us!! There are few places that make you feel like you are home - Lisbon is one of those places. From the moment we entered, Max, greeted us with a smile and made us feel like we were guests in his home. Tyler, our waitress, was attentive without being overbearing, patient as she answered all of our many questions. My first experience with Portuguese food. My husband tried this place for lunch with a coworker & loved it. It's in a odd location but so worth the trip. We ordered a bottle of wine which they recommended & it was perfect. The most expensive bottle on the menu is $45.00. Tables are beautifully set up with bread,olives & homemade chips which were delicious. We ordered two appetizers Octopus & tomato & mozzarella which both were delicious. Came here last night for dinner. I heard about this place since it has multiple locations but never been. They have a nice parking lot and the place is very cute inside. Not crowded at all on a Wednesday night. I had the garlic shrimp appetizer and for my entree I had the branzino. I asked for the branzino filet and our waiter took out the bones right in front of us. Very professional and cool to watch. I've never seen this done at any restaurant. My mother had the chicken and asparagus with cheese dish. Both of our meals were delicious. This homey Portuguese restaurant is tucked in a stand-alone location with convenient parking right on Jericho Turnpike. On the weeknight we visited you could tell they have a strong repeat crowd and families feel comfortable bringing the kids to dinner at this white tablecloth, professionally staffed, well run establishment. In spite of not having a reservation we were warmly welcomed and clearly got lucky as there were almost no empty tables on a Thursday night. Furthermore we lingered at our table for 4, visiting for an extended period of time with no rush whatsoever, no body language or subtle suggestion from the staff. Our group enjoyed the special homemade lobster ravioli, steak and paella, with portions either perfect or abundant; the paella was enough for two. Pitcher of sangria was perfect for two+ glasses each. Constant refilling of water glasses, surveying the room, smiles and happy glances all around, you could tell the staff and the guests here have a great time. If you enjoy portuguese food like I do, you would consider this a underwhelming dining experience. .... sat down at my table at 8:30pm and the first thing the server said to me was "kitchen closes soon". When all the info says they close at 10pm. MANY MANY people came in after I was seated, leaving me feeling unwelcome. .... after taking my order, thankfully the server came back with a question, because he would have gotten my entree incorrect. ... my 9pm , I couldn't get a refill on water, etc... because my server was sitting at the bar eating dinner with a glass of wine watching soccer. nobody else was around to help. ... while I'm waiting patiently for my food, what appears to be the Chef comes out and starts hanging out behind the bar, he was very aware I noticed him and we exchanged uncomfortable looks. ... when food came to my table, one of the runners handed me and my company our plates, instead of "properly" serving us?! ... the only flavor you tasted in any of the food was SALT ... the Paella was a soupy mess. unlike any Paella I've ever eaten, doubtful that any of it was all actually cooked together despite coming to the table in one pot. It felt and tasted like Arroz con Pollo garnished with seafood. ... I expected so much more from a restaurant that is as well appointed and clean as this place. Because of that they get 2 stars instead of 1. Everyone is capable of having a "bad day", and maybe that's what I experienced. But my bill was hefty at the end of the meal, and I left feeling cheated. So I'm not going back to see if they are capable of better than what I experienced. read more

An absolute gem!! This place definitely does not skimp out on seafood portions. The dishes are HUGE- the pictures don't do them justice. While the food does take a while to come out, it is so worth the wait. The cod blew us away - it is probably the best cod I've ever tasted, especially paired with the scrumptious slightly fried(?) thin potatoes slices and rich sauce. The seafood paella is also a must-try. The broth is so flavorful and seasoned perfectly, and the dish comes with a ton of seafood even though we only got a 1 person portion. A wonderful experience. The food was the best i have had. The service was great. I started with red sangria, had mussels for apertizer, had veal chop for the entree, had flan foe dessert. I had double espresso. They gave us a shot glass of port wine. This was the best veal chop i have had. I had a veal chop at a restaurant in Rockville centre rhat started with a C and was supposed to be a steakhouse, this one was 100 percent beyter than that one. This place deserves 0 stars. I would give it negative stars if that was possible. My family has been coming to Lisbon Cafe for years and always had great things to say about it. Yesterday was a different story -- my mom's birthday was ruined. Entirely different wait staff and bartenders, and it's important I mention that we waited nearly an hour for our entrees, let alone 30 minutes for just a few appetizers and drinks. Speaking of appetizers, the Caesar salad was funky. The dressing tasted unpleasantly sweet and not fresh at all. However, we were starving and needed to force it down. My mom ordered a Bloody Mary, but couldn't have one due to the bar not having tomato juice. Isn't a Bloody Mary a pretty typical bar drink? Then, after such a long wait, our entrees arrived but minus the simplest one, a steak and shrimp. Everyone at the table got seafood, but my sister's seafood dish consisted literally of empty shells. My dad had to order something else because although rabbit stew was on the menu, it wasn't an option that night. Great. When we mentioned, the poor waitress looked like she was about to burst into tears and walked away. Thankfully we were comped on that. My mom asked if her dish could have the broth she thought it'd contain, and the owner took it to the back and ensured her they could do it. He came back with a bowl full of what seemed to just be tomato soup. Finally, my steak and shrimp came out...without shrimp. It was cooked fine, but then another 10 minutes later my shrimp arrived haphazardly scattered on an insanely hot plate. Since it was in fact my mom's birthday, we had asked for them to bring out a cake we bought and brought. Cue the awkward "h-h-happy...birthday" singing that we had to chime in on loudly. After each got a slice, it was packed away with no chance of possibly having another. Safe to say we got out of there as quickly as we could, three hours later. We wanted to bring home our food, and the waitress brought out numerous tiny containers because they didn't have full-sized ones. Parties around us were seated, had dinner and drinks and dessert and left well before us. How? Anyway, later that night and this morning we all got sick from the food and have been throwing up since. SAVE YOUR TIME AND $$........... The tableclothed restaurant looks high-end and it's highly recommended by a friend of mine, I was hoping for at least a decent meal. Only a total of three tables on a Saturday afternoon (??) with three servers and the owner was there as well. To our huge disappointment, the food and services were both bad, only if I could give 0 star ............... We ordered seafood paella, grilled pork chop and fried calamari, only to be told afterwards that they did not get the delivery of calamari that morning. We couldn't find anything we like on the menu so we skipped the appetizer. So lucky we did because the food was just so so bad....... We had the worst paella ever, so plain without any taste at all. The overall look was also unpleasant as the yellow rice was pale that it barely has any color. The seafood served with half a tiny lobster, it's not fresh and honestly speaking, it's half-stale, and the shrimps are small too. The grilled pork chop also had not taste and we don't recall we requested no sodium for our food!!??!!! Meantime, there are some slices of bread, some ready to eat chips and olives on the table - the bread was cold and not fresh. So today we did Seafood Paella for 4 takeout and were very disappointed. It was nothing like the Seafood Paella we had dine in. The family meal for 4 has only clams, mussels, a few really small bay scallops and 7 shrimp. I guess they expect each person to have 1.75 shrimp each. We called to see if there was some mistake, but they said that's what it is. I think they should make clear on the menu that the seafood paella when you dine in is different than the seafood paella that you take out. My advice if doing takeout, order the seafood paella for 2 from the dinner menu. It has better ( and more) seafood than the dinner for 4 and cost less too! read more

I ordered the lobster. It was so overcooked. It was like chewing on a sandal. The bar service was under par. Even the bartender said the food was a disgrace, especially when they said it was fresh lobster. The manager was extremely rude even after I said I would pay for half my meal I won't go to this restaurant ever again. read more
