As we know this is my favorite spot probably in the world to go too. I been going here like 30+ years. Let's start with the ambiance it is welcoming it is home it is family. When you walk in they have a circle bar with all type of drinks coffee and you can eat at the bar. They have a big dining area to the side of that, that is private if you want to eat there and you can even have a lunch or dinner party there. I had tons of dinners there with family and friends 30 people or so. The side of the bar has a few tables as well if you choose to sit there but we always lounge at the bar and eat. They have a downstairs where you can rent and have a huge party with lots of fun. They will cater the food and drinks for you. Now to the service pop is the boss and his son Vick. You have Miguel who been with them the longest, Vick's wife comes and helps out Nancy and the girls and the wonderful cooks. Now to the main event the food as you see in the pictures some of the outstanding food from steaks to seafood to pork chops you name it. Everyday they have 5 things on the menu board to choose from as daily specials but you can also order from the menu. I had it all there and loved it all and I will go there forever and ever. Went to dinner with my in laws and my kids and wife here. 2 no time here and without a miss, customer service is always going above and beyond. Food orders are done quick and efficient. Drink menu is huge and we love it. Food is cooked to the right temperatures and the flavor is out of this world. The restaurant is in the cut next to the Brentwood train station but the food is so so good. The Sangria is so good as well as the drink specials. What makes it one of my favorite restaurants is the staff and owner. They are so sweet and kind. They show a genuine concern for you and make you feel like your family. You won't be disappointed. I believe it is Portuguese food. Prices are reasonable as well. read more

Hello to my fellow Yelpers out there! It's been a while! I would like to say, that this is my first time eating Portuguese food, and it was amazing! The food and the service were incredible. The ambiance was cozy and very family-friendly. A family friend recommended this restaurant to me. This evening, we were a party of 5. My brother-in-law, called to inquire about making a reservation. Within 15 minutes, after we arrived, we were seated right away. Our server was a very polite gentleman. My dad gave him a generous tip! He exceptionally met all our needs. Surprisingly, the restaurant's menu is quite short but the food is delicious. My sister and my dad ordered seafood platters, whereas, me, my mom and my brother-in-law, ordered Portuguese-style chicken dishes. The sangria was very refreshing. I, personally, recommend this restaurant, whetheris for dining in or takeout. Next time, we're contemplating with the idea of getting grilled meats. Once again, my fellow Yelpers, we must help our mama and papa business owners. They need our help, and they rely on our contributions as patrons. read more

We had the Portuguese clams to start, the seafood combination with green Sauce, veal scallopini with mushrooms and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Everything was very delicious! This is my favorite restaurant by far. I wish I could give it 10 stars because it deserves it. You can order by the menu and I guarantee that you will never be disappointed. Every day they have a specials menu. I've found it difficult to repeat the same dish twice for the last few months that I have frequented this establishment by going at least twice a week. I just had the Portuguese Lasagna last night, and the only problem is that is was soo delicious, that it made me hungrier for more! The staff is great and very welcoming. I knew there was something different about this place when I asked the waiter how they made the garlic sauce for the camarones al ajillo (garlic shrimp). It was sooo good, that I expected for him to say it was from a can; it happens so often that seemingly delicious meals are frozen and/or came from Restaurant Depot somehow. Anyhow, the waiter gave me the entire (very long and detailed) process involved in them making this sauce, right on site. I've had similar experiences with the same waiter many times, where he's able to tell me the exact source of elements so normally arbitrary like the complimentary bread that they decided to experiment with that week. The staff here is happy and passionate about the food. This place has been here for years, and for years you can expect smiles and warm welcomes. The food is completely fresh and simple, it's obvious that they're using the bare minimum as far as condiments and stuff and it's anything but needed. Great wine, drinks too. And it is affordable. Every shrimp lover should try their grilled shrimp! read more

I'm not Portuguese so I can't speak to the authenticity of the food but it is good. The broiled filet of sole was cooked so well you didn't even want to put lemon on it, BBQ chicken was excellent and the Portuguese style clams are a must try. read more

I just ate here for the first time tonight and it was terrific. I had the house steak, which came with hand cut fried potatoes and an excellent sauce. My family and I agreed that all the ingredients must have been fresh and good and even the cheesecake was served beautifully and was very tasty. I strongly recommend this place for anyone seeking a peaceful, tasteful atmosphere with excellent food that comes in excellent portions. read more

Worst disgusting food ever!!! I was so excited to try this place since I'm Portuguese and I like trying all the Portuguese restaurants in Long Island, but this was NOT EVEN CLOSE TO REAL AUTHENTIC PORTUGUESE restaurant! First the waiter didn't even want to give me a menu, he just said we only have 3 items available. So I called the restaurant while I was sitting down and the owner victor picked up the phone and said okay I'll tell him to give you a menu. The waiter ends up giving me only 1 bar menu for my party of 3, which the prices were $5 cheaper than the restaurant prices, which I realized after when I received my bill. So upset to have the worst food on New Year's Eve. My salmon was COLD! They must have just popped it in the microwave! Had absolutely NO flavor! The Frozen French fries tasted stale! Not even fresh crispy Portuguese style fries! Nasty Fake pina colada that tasted like corn syrup with ice! The Salad was not even the slightest bit Portuguese style! Not sure how i came across this place. Its been here for ever and only had 3 yelp reviews?? I need a good bacalao so i head there. When i enter the bar area, right away i thought i was in jackson heights in one of those bars on roosevelt ave ( if you know what i mean) . But moving on. I started with a Portuguese beer, just to feel things out. Staff was nice. Ok i order clam and chourizo(thats how its spelled in Portuguese) and i ordered the Bacalao. The appetizer was huge, at least 12 clams in there and plenty of chourizo. I didnt care much for the chourizo. Now its time for a bottlle of vinho verde. Very good wine, The bacalao was also huge and very good, served with broccoli rabe. As i was eating i did see a little critter on the bar taking a walk, but i dont get hysterical as long as its not in my food. So i put my coaster on it for the time im there and then they can do whatever they want with it once i leave. If i find something in my food its a different story. I finished with an espresso and a aguardiente velha. My bill was $47 a gift i thought for what i consumed. Ill be back sooner than later. Hidden gem. Dont expect a high end place here. This place is a dump. So sad my friend rented the room for her daughter bridal shower thinking it was great. Unfortunately there was no heat everyone complained and the only has two small heater that was no sufficient to warm the place up. Another thing only one working toilet the other one has been out of service. That bathroom need serious cleaning. No hot water to wash your hands. This place should be close down by the department of building until it gets a new makeover. My friend was also not allowed to take the left over food home. Could you believe these people she paid for the food for god sake. Dump Dump So I rate this dump as a -5 star. read more
