I did not want to have to write this. I've been a loyal client of Therapy since 2014 and was…read moreunderstanding when prices went up a few times, especially since everything else has gotten more expensive. I believed the new owners were using the extra funds to upgrade the spa, buy new equipment and pay employees better, at least according to their emails. Sadly, there's been a rapid decline in the business. The spa now looks dingy and neglected, and there's a foul odor throughout. The quality of facial and massage services dropped so much due to the constant turnover that I had to stop coming altogether. I had been seeing Chelsea Bowman and the master facialist Ami Sheneman for years. Both left, and no one contacted me to let me know I wouldn't be seeing them for my next appointment. I only found out when I showed up and discovered I'd be seeing someone else. The new girl Kendall, bless her heart--she tried her best, but it just wasn't the same. On top of it when I asked the girls at the desk where Chelsea and Ami went, each time they looked scared and uncomfortable answering. For anyone wondering where Ami went: I found her! She's now at Pier to Point down the street at the other end of Voltaire. I've already been there and signed up for multiple memberships. I highly recommend you do the same. It's such a shame about this spa since it's been part of the community for so long. Edit in response to the owner's comment: Thank you for your response. I want to clarify that my review was written in good faith based solely on my personal experience as a long-time client of your spa. I did not create my account with any intention of coordinating negative reviews or promoting a competitor. I have never had a Yelp account prior to this, which is why it is new. I've also never left a Google review prior to this either. My intention was to share my honest disappointment about the recent changes and lack of transparency when my preferred practitioners left, which significantly impacted my experience. I understand privacy policies, but as a loyal client, I felt it would have been more considerate to inform me prior to my appointment that my practitioners would no longer be there, enabling me to make the decision if I wanted to see someone new or not. This would have allowed me to cancel, so I could continue my services with the professionals I had established trust with. I stand by my original review and hope future communication with clients will be handled with greater openness and respect. Thank you.

It's a very relaxing environment, soothing music, and everyone is very warm and welcoming. I was gifted a massage for my birthday. I got a massage today by Gwen and she was absolutely amazing. She massaged me from head to toe and her hands are magical. I told her my problem areas and she really honed in on them with just the right amount of pressure. Honestly, the combo of the comfy warm bed and Gwen made me nod off for a while, it was so relaxing. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. The massages and other services are quite pricey, but they offer an affordable monthly membership which offers a free service monthly!

You already know your girl loves a good massage -- and I don't discriminate. From foot reflexology…read moreto bougie $400 sessions and everything in between... I'm here for ALL of it. So of course, a massage was non-negotiable during our weekend escape -- and I'm so glad we made it happen. We tried to walk in Saturday around 2P and they were already fully booked for the day. Considering they're open until 9:30P, that told me everything I needed to know. Good sign. So we booked for the next morning. I've had plenty of Thai massages, but this was my bestie's first, so I had to give her the full rundown: stretching, body contortion, elbows, knees, feet -- the whole experience. No surprises over here. We were in the same room, but our massages were slightly different -- which makes sense because we hold stress in different areas. The therapists clearly adjusted their approach based on what our bodies needed. But trust -- we both got the full treatment: elbows, knees, feet, and all the stretches. The kind where you're basically turned into a pretzel... and somehow love every second of it. One thing that stood out for me -- I received cupping, and my bestie didn't. It wasn't something I specifically asked for, so it was a surprise, but definitely a welcome one. Just something to note -- it may be incorporated into your session. And for anyone unfamiliar, cupping is an old eastern method used to help release tension and improve circulation in areas where the body holds stress. I personally love it. At the end of it all, we both walked out feeling relaxed, stretched out, and reset. Would I come back if I'm in the area again? Absolutely.
