I would loveeeee to give this store a higher rating but I can't for multiple reasons. 1. Their online inventory is incorrect. They claim to have items in stock that are actually not. Drove here 3 days ago to find this out. Huge suggestion is hiring someone to keep the site updated. 2. This leads to problem #2. When we called to check the inventory, BEFORE making another drive, we were told that they can't give that information out over the phone. 3. This leads me to problem #3. Because we USED to love this spot, we decided to drive well over 30 minutes for a specific brand and strain just for them not to have it!!! This wouldn't be an issue if they would've just said "yes or no" over the phone. This also isn't the first time this has happened so it's a no for me. From my understanding, this place is woman and black owned which is the only reason I didn't give it 1 star. I also liked the security the last time we visited so that gave it an extra star from the 1 star I was going to give. We've spent hundreds of dollars here and wasted time MULTIPLE times looking for something out of stock so for these to be the reasons to lose customers is quite unfortunate. Honestly pretty shitty place. They are always super rude and rush you on everything. God forbid you ask to see anything before you buy because the workers will give you the dirtiest look. On top of everything, they don't follow the hours of operation posted online. I went today at like 2 and they were closed, and it's not the first time this has happened. I tried to go on a Saturday afternoon and was told the store was "closed", despite them letting many others in. I was "greeted" but an unpleasant, mendacious employee who claimed that they were doing renovations. It seemed completely bogus and makes little sense to just suddenly have business closed on a busy Saturday! On a side note, I also went a few months prior and picked up a few edibles. They claimed they were 150mg I believe. I had two big rice krispie treats and felt almost nothing throughout the day. I asked them about sugar content because of my own disorder and diet and they just stood there stupid like they didn't know anything about the product or what was in it. They also couldn't articulate the quality in the edibles. Total waste of money and they don't even take cards so I had to waste a few more dollars going to an ATM. If you want low-quality and the sort of bratty, silver-spoon, disinterested, disingenuous customer service so common in DC, this is your place. Loved it the first time I went. I purchased the same exact packaging the second time and things were missing. Big time. Definitely check to ensure you get what you're paying for. Regardless, I was willing to forgive because a friend was in need--cancer. Went back today and it was terrible. The regulars got to skip the line. Once I got to the counter, the girl was uninformed and unbothered to try to help. The one woman that treated the other guests (I.e., the regular) was willfully unaware of what was going on. I was a little skeptical at first because we were all out of towners, but LC did not disappoint. They had everything we needed for a great weekend full of fun and turn up. Came to DC from out of state. Was referred here from One Medical after finding out how buying really is down here (gifting). First day in dc was able to get a hold of great products. Started using cartridges more heavily thanks to them. Really nice staff. Fast forward next day, wanted more cartridges so short train ride down and more cartridges plus an eighth, no hassle. Thank you very much. Third day in DC, was a little further away then lit city so was trying New Leaf City. What a joke. Guy behind counter charges 65 for a "session". "Ok but is this session some cartridges?" (New obsession). "That makes me sad. You don't ask what the gift is on Christmas morning" Like why would I pay 65 for no information on what I'm getting. So instead I took a trip to Lit City for the 3rd time in 3 days. Got 2 new cartridges and some brownies at a decent price and some free tinctures to try and hey it was pretty damn good. I'm from PA so coming here was awesome. The first day I went they didn't have a full menu. The second day I went they had a full menu but the customer service was bad. I was very rushed even though it wasn't busy, he was honestly a little rude, they didn't want to explain anything or talk about anything. My first time shopping for smoking materials in DC and Lit City was recommended to me. Go down the stairway and it's the door on the right. When I went, there was a line in the stairway for another establishment that was barely moving, FYI. The staff were very friendly and helpful and their inventory was professionally boxed and sealed. They even had some complimentary items for customers; tiny pipes that worked great. A lot of places have merchandise starting at $60 but lit city had merchandise for $20, which was all I needed. Lit City is a haven for advocates and explorers alike. Great prices, great products. The had a great team but they've since gone elsewhere. While I appreciate the precarious situation this shop is in when it comes to initiative 71, the preventive actions they've taken have really made it hard to patronize their storefront. Their new system actually makes it more convenient to return to old methods of acquiring product rather than visit their store. Lit city is different from all american papers. Both "stores" are in the same building under lit citys name which can cause a lot of confusion. I called lit city by mistake and they were extremely rude. After the call ended, they called back again, continued to be rude and then made fun of my nervous laugh. i visited this shop today for the first time. around 5:30. there was a gentleman sitting by the door with a hat on a black shirt and hat. i recommend y'all train him on customer service. because he lacked that 100%. i suggest you all find someone who will actually set the mark for your business when a customer walks in the door. and he is not it. staff was very unfriendly. when you walk in. they instantly give you a look like "what do you want". was greeted by 3 different gentlemen. neither of them came off with great customer service at all. asked one of the guys on the right who might have been some kind of want to be security if they carried a particular item. he proceeded with no so what y'all looking for?
