My wife Margaret and I were in town for our grandsons birthday and wanted to visit a local shop. We meet Tom and his staff at the door. He cared about what we smoked and that we were comfortable. I tried a Band of Brothers Maduro and she had an M by Macanudo. Tom has knowledge beyond most people I have ever interacted with he paired my cigar with a local beer and the experience took off from here. My mind was blown with techniques on how to change the flavor of both my beer and cigar with just small changes in smoking and sipping my drink. This is a public lounge with a great humidor. The staff is always smiling and conversational. I never had any issues during my visits.

The owner is very nice, it was clean and a great selection of cigars. I don't like being followed into the humidor...I'm assuming he has been robbed or had people steal from him but saying that, I did enjoy a smoke and a drink. I stopped in here while on business. The owner, Tom, introduced himself and was very nice. He showed me the selection in the humidor and then reassured me that they do not have a membership fees or scams - you can just sit and burn one there. I picked out my cigar, ordered a soft drink and was all set. You pay when you leave - I like that people can still be trusted. I actually went back the next night. I thought it was just the first couple times I visited, but after a few more visits and reading reviews, the experience of having a locked humidor and being escorted and surveilled while looking for cigars is actually the culture of this establishment. It's one thing to assist a patron by asking what we're interested in, but it's another to ask the same question with impatience as if I'm there to waste time. As an experienced "cigarist", I've been to some of the most prestigious, more curated, and well managed cigar lounges across the country, as well as the local mom and pop shops (my all time favorites) that showcase a broad spectrum of sticks for anyone's liking, so I know what it's like to feel like a valued patron. Not so much here. It gives the vibe of a "Members Only" establishment. After my last visit on May 11, 2024, I've decided not to return or bring friends when we want to kick back and fellowship over some sticks and stouts. Not because of their limited stock of premium cigars, such as Pardon, Aladino, Atabey, Davidoff Royal, Liga Privada 9 or 10, or even some of my favorites like Punch Bareknuckle and CAO Pilon, but because the vibe...And the vibe is the most important. Although this shop is closer to my home and more convenient, I'll continue to go to Blythewood Cigar and Wine and Leaf and Vine where I've always felt welcomed by the owners and other patrons. However I will say as an entrepreneur and professional, my experience there has inspired me to never forget or take for granted what makes a business successful and thrive; great customer experiences. read more

Absolutely do not recommend. You would think with all the BLM movement that the owner Tom would be a little sensitive towards his customers and the words he chooses to speak, at least while in the lounge, but let's just say his words were quite colorful and less than kind. Extremely disappointed. And I won't ever be back. I even tried talking to him about his demeanor but he didn't want to hear any of it. His mightier than though disposition is concerning. I will be taking my business elsewhere and suggest you do as well. To top it all off, the selection of cigars is extremely lacking and it's not worth your time. Tom is an Army veteran and now a business leader in the Columbia area. Tom has lots of beverages on top but also makes a very mean cup of coffee. I've never walked in this place in anything other than a beautiful, bespoke suit and polished shoes. My demeanor has always been respectful and courteous. How is it, then that after walking into the humidor today the guy behind the register follows me to abruptly tell me to empty my pockets?! He then says it was "sneaky" for me to get a refill of my torch as I walked in to the store, so as to distract him while I was in the humidor. Then, he tries to play it off like he was joking. I found this place by accident. I forgot cigars when we bugged out from the coast to avoid hurricane Florence. My wife and I went in and were welcomed like old friends. Every time i went there, it was great fun. I used to go there once a week with bunch of my coworkers when I lives there. Its better every time. The owner, Tom, is great guy. Tom is a great guy. Great shop. He is very good at chatting and hanging out while maintaining his business. Very knowledgable on Rocky Patel (my favorite) sticks. Had just missed his Rocky Patel night and informed me he aims for 1 event night per month. Ask and he'll put you on the list serve so you can be in the know. My home away from home. Veteran owned and operated. The owner is very knowledgeable and can recommend cigars based on a few questions. He can also pair a great beer to go with that cigar. The owner also has a large selection of great beers on tap and brings in some great seasonal beers. There is such a large selection of cigars that at times I'm at a loss on what I should smoke. The staff that help run the shop are very knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful. The clientele are also what makes this shop great. In town for work and wanted a casual, easy place to have a good cigar smoke and a beer, Lite Um Up fits that perfectly. Tom the owner was great and welcoming, the folks enjoying their smoke and beers were easy going, easy to talk too. It was a enjoyable experience and I will be going back soon. Stopped by this afternoon to check this place out since I was in the area. Tom, the shop owner, was super nice and made several great cigar suggestions. They have a decent sized walk-in humidor with all the great brands along with some lesser-known boutique brands, which I really liked. They also have a nice assortment of samplers (this is what I ended up purchasing) which provide a nice bang-for-your-buck. Wish I could have stayed longer, will recommend and will be back! read more

This used to be a very very nice cigar lounge. The owner Tom, was very humble when this business first started. I was a regular at this bar for a the better part of the year and really enjoyed the camaraderie until Tom started making fun of some of the patrons. He forgot very quickly who had contributed to the success of his business. It seems that if you didn't spend enough money you weren't worthy to frequent the bar. I didn't think it was professional nor ethical to poke fun at the patrons who didn't know about the art of cigar smoking.. A couple of the girls that worked there often shared their sentiments about his ego and he often talked down to them. I think a business owner should remember how their success started and to also remember to thank those patrons each and every time they visit. I will say that the cigars are of high quality and the cigar bar is extremely nice depending on who is working behind the bar. If you like a quality cigar, this is the place to go, however be careful , if you don't spend a lot of money here, it's only a matter of time before you will be the brunt end of his jokes. Also he will never allow a patron to go into the humidor by themselves because he obviously doesn't trust you to be in there alone. He says it's because he wants you to pick the correct cigar but that's just a bunch of propaganda. I've been to many Cigar Bars in Atlanta and was so worried that Columbia could never match their service/quality of options. I must say that the customer service was amazing, he was extremely knowledgeable and very attentive. I'm very pleased with my visit here and would definitely come back again.
