It's a clean store, quick service. Cashiers know what they're doing. I doubt underage college students are able to purchase here. Clear ID requirements won't prevent underage drinking but it protects the store. Anyhoo- prices are reasonable, selection is good, staff are friendly. read more

Pretty good place to buy booze. First, it's basically on campus. Having worked at USC for many years, I've often taken advantage of this close and decently priced liquor store. I only have a few issues: ids, selection, and parking. They seem to be a little over the top about carding; I guess better safe than sorry, but I always remember how much I went through in my 20s. I used to live down the street, and they would thoroughly inspect ids and even take your picture. I don't have to jump through as many hoops now, but if my wife gives me her debit card, and asks me to pick something up I'm out of luck, because unless I have a license that matches the card, well I'm outta luck. Now the parking pretty much goes without saying, parking around campus is really hard to find. I was put off by some of the selections. I was looking for Hennessy and had to ask where it was. Well the Hennessy and the courvosier were kept behind the counter. Now, I tried not to jump to conclusions, but it bothered me that liquor that is more popular with black folks was behind the counter. read more

This Green's is great! It's convenient, has great prices, excellent customer service, and any beer, wine, or spirit you could think of. They also have a lot of great trinkets and miscellaneous items. The one very minor negative thing I might say is that the parking lot is very beat up, and is kind of a pain to get in and out of. Nevertheless, it's still a great beverage store! read more

They allow people to loiter in the store near the sole working cash register. They will launch into a profanity-laced tirade if you ask them to complete their purchase. The employees seem to have no problem whatsoever with this sad state of affairs. read more

Greens is a great place to get in and get out before a game or cookout. They are open earlier than most bottle shops by a few hours. Selection is pretty good and they have added more singles to their craft beer area so you can mix and match instead of buying a whole case or six pack. As that is currently what I want as I'm sure many customers want when shopping. Cash will get you a better price at checkout counter. read more

What can I say? Buy local! We called ahead about purchasing the alcohol for our wedding and were told we could come in any time (unless we wanted a specialty item). We showed up on a Saturday afternoon and were immediately assisted. We provided our wedding size and reception length in order to get a suggested amount to purchase. There was even a suggested purchase amount for mixers as well! We started with the beer & wine. The gentleman helped us choose popular options for our beer selections, and was able to recommend decent wine selections. We were not pressured to but extra, nor in a certain price range. They boxed up our order and even took it out to the car..and loaded it for us!! On the liquor side we had a similar experience. We were offered popular items, not just expensive items. Again, two different employees packaged up our order and loaded it in our car! I felt like we were in very capable hands. On both sides (beer/wine & liquor) both employees knew their stuff and were able to make educated suggestions. I 1000% recommend Green's for any alcohol needs! read more

I've been to Green's twice, once with a friend and then my own trip. This store is jammed packed with all types of drinks....some stuff I have never even heard of. I am not a major drinker, but I had tried this bourbon at a friends house and I had to get it. I went in and walked around a minute. There were employees around but no one greeted me or anyone else to that fact (not that I can recall) until I reached the register. I was able to locate the bourbon, but this one was flavored. This one is pecan flavored so I will see what it's about. I will return to re-up on this once it's gone but I doubt if I return before then. Not for any reasons but I don't drink liquor often at home. And the most I drink is a hard cider which can be purchased from a grocery store. read more

I first turned my nose up at this place since I'm kinda a wine snob and this place is a popular liquor store. The store is divided in two separate sections- wine+wine+mixers, and liquor. They do it this way since SC state law required liquor stores to close at 7pm. Wine and beer are OK though so on F, S they are open till 11pm. :) I come here all the time for wine. They have a good selection of low and mid-priced wines and a few high end bottles. (For high-end selection, I go to The Gourmet Shop, but it's mostly overpriced.) Green's has some really great prices and some wines that can't easily be found elsewhere. The parking lot can get busy- especially on weekend nights. TIPS: -Check the price label for the cash/debit card price- it's cheaper! -There's a wine chiller at the entrance where you can chill your bottle of wine. Done in like 5 mins! Time saver. read more

We will be making Green's our go-to beverage store for our wedding in March. We stopped in the other day and were met with a very friendly and very knowledgeable staff. They were able to answer all of our questions and ease our fears over how much to buy to stock an open bar at a wedding. If you've done this before then it won't be much a surprise but I've never stocked an open bar before and was pretty overwhelmed with the task. We met with the wine consultant and after a few short questions she printed out a sheet tailored to our guests and their likes. We had total number of recommended liquor bottles, wine bottles, mixers, etc. What. A. Relief! And, the kicker?? Whatever we don't consumer can be returned to the store for a refund. What?! How amazing is that? As long as the seals are intact and the labels aren't destroyed you can get a full refund. Make Green's your first (and only) beverage stop! read more

Absolutely Worst customer service. I bought my hubby a gift certificate to use for the purchase of a keg for his kegerator he got for Christmas. It was tossed with the wrapping paper accidentally. When I approached the store about this, it was too bad so sad attitude. I even told them which receipt day and time of purchase. They basically stole $80 from us. I have been here once and I hated it. I wanted to check out their selections of import liqueur but with all of the staff looking at me like a thief I felt so uncomfortable. I'm never going back. Some of the staff are there just to look and the shoppers. I'm sticking with my local liquor store. The prices aren't even that different. What a great find! My sister and I had to stock up on a little alcohol for the holidays and for a USC game, and this is apparently the place to go. Both times we went, the place was pretty packed (the day before and the day of the USC vs Clemson game). I'm from out of town, so I didn't realize that the sold beer and wine on the left side of the store and hard liquor on the right. My college student sister showed me the ropes, though :) I bought a few bottles of wine, and one of the store clerks was so helpful. He recommended some great, affordable wines. They have a great selection of different reds, and the prices are so cheap compared to Philly (quality wines between $5-$10!). They had a good beer selection, too. The liquor side of the store was crazy packed on game day, but we were able to slip in and out and grab a bottle of some reasonably-priced whiskey. All in all a great place! read more

Well, I've been going to greens since before I could drink. WAY before I could drink, my mom would take me by here so she could purchase her and my father's libations. When I finally turned 21, I was sad to find out that Green's didn't exist in Charleston, SC. When I moved back I became a loyal customer. Until recently (thanks to mega store total wine), Green's by far had the best beer selection, and still does down town. The liqour section is great too. Competative prices for sure! read more

Greens carries a lot of good products for a really good price. However, it is rare that I make a trip to Greens and I feel like I have been treated fairly. I am 21 years old and maybe that is why several workers feel as if I am not as relevant of a customer than someone older. However, in my opinion, it shouldn't matter if I am 21 or 75, I should receive the same amount of respect since I am the customer using my money to make a purchase at the store. I have had jobs and understand how customer service works. One of the things I have been taught over and over again is that the customer is always right. I don't necessarily agree with this, but I do believe the employees should be nice and respectful. I understand it can be hard to be overwhelmingly nice to every person that comes into the store. However, it takes 0 effort to not be rude and mean. I might not have the knowledge of sommeliers or someone that brews their own beer, but I do know that I should be treated with a certain level of respect, regardless of my age. read more
