In one small space is a museum about Turkey Hill's history, how ice cream is made, etc. It's very interactive with an area to make your own ice cream flavor, commercial, and more. The ice cream sampling area is great. They give you healthy scoops. There's also an area to try their iced tea and lemonade and learn how it's made. The bottom level is a giant gift shop with toys, clothes, and more. There's a large parking lot out front.

Then I found Turkey Hill Ice cream Experience only 30min away from Lancaster, and decided to visit. We bought the double scoop experience (comes with ice cream test lab) and obviously that was the highlight of the place! The test lab is about 45min experience and the whole thing with self-guided tour takes about 1hr 30min to 2 hours depending how crowded it is. The visit was fun and of course my 5-year-old daughter had a great time eating tons of ice cream!

The people behind the Lititz Historical Foundation do both masterfully. They maintain a free museum about the history of Lititz. Like many museums, it comes with signs, but the artifacts outnumber the plaques. There are some real gems like a fancy fan once owned by First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln. You can even look down through a plastic panel on the ground into an old cistern. It really is a great museum. They also have a well-stocked gift shop.

A tour of the country's first pretzel bakery is offered for those who pay. It's guided and doesn't last too long. You can also just pop in to see the lobby and shop where you can buy their famous hard pretzels. For $2, you can get a warm pretzel. That's what I got. It was warm, but didn't taste very good. It's still worth going if you love history.

We had the privilege of joining Bill and Bonnie on one of their horse-drawn carriage rides around…read morethe farm. Their hospitality leading up to the ride was fantastic, the weather was a bit 'iffy' so we ended up pushing back to later in the afternoon. It was still a bit cold and overcast when we arrived and we ended up being the only couple to join them. Blankets were in the carriage waiting for us and we were greeted as soon as we pulled up, the ride was enjoyable and informative... we learned about the farm and a bit about the battle, both Bill and Bonnie were super friendly and it was a pleasure to meet them! After the ride was over we had the opportunity to go back to the barn and meet all the horses. We learned more about each of them and got to feed them carrots, absolutely worth the price and a ride we would definitely do again, hopefully under better weather next time!

It's to the (R) of Schaefer's restaurant. When we finally found someone they were helpful. We went on the Sunday 4pm (2 hr cruise). We ended up getting one of the booths at the back of the boat and sat by the bar area. You can bring any food and/or drinks you want onto the boat which is great. Otherwise they have a fully stocked bar in the back and prices aren't too bad. They inform you of all of the birds and anything if significance you pass. Tom & Steve are the owners. They are very nice. The cost was $19 per adult and $10 per kiddo. I did appreciate that they didn't play any music so we could converse.

Came here for Chadds Ford Day as a day trip for my job and had an overall unpleasant experience…read more Enjoyed the food trucks and the different venders selling art, jewelry, and such but getting in was a hassle. Didn't get handicap parking when we needed it. So we had to walk a good distance while pushing a wheel chair to get to the entrance. I didn't know they only accepted cash and not card so once I arrived to the ticket stand the lady sitting at the stand told me they had a ATM machine and where to find it but refused to let me use it, which I couldn't understand. When I asked if I could use it to pay for my ticket she literally laughed at me and told me no I could not use their ATM machine and would not tell me why, she then assisted the person behind me in line. Another lady approached me and ended up having a free voucher ticket and gave it to me. I don't have any plans on ever coming back here for any event that is held.

Super cool landmark…read more As per the plaque: Constructed in 1860, the Gatehouse was designed by the Baltimore firm of Thomas and James M. Dixon. Built in Tudor Revival Style, it provided for two living units, one on each side of the archway. The Gatehouse resembled a Swiss chalet and became a trademark of the Sheppard. The neighborhood children viewed it as the home of Hansel and Gretel. A tenant alwavs lived in the Gatehouse until 2005. The beautiful Rhododendron Drive was historically entered by driving through the Gatehouse. In 2002 the entire Charles Street entrance was reconstructed and cars no longer entered through the Archway.
