Ms. Karine is so kind and loving--she always makes sure my children are well taken care of. My kids love their teachers. Ms Marine, Ms HayArpi Ms Lucy. When I pick them up early, they often ask me to wait so they can finish their meals, which shows how much they care and want my kids to be comfortable and happy at school. When we first enrolled, neither of my children spoke Armenian, and now they sing, dance, and perform in Armenian! They've learned so much, and I'm incredibly thankful to every teacher who cares for them so well. Please ignore the negative reviews--I've read them, and I'm surprised and I can confidently say they are far from the truth. I'm a very overprotective parent and spend a lot of time talking with my kids. Not once have they said anything negative about how they are treated at school. Instead of supporting him, the teacher made him feel isolated and embarrassed. I brought my concerns to the principal, hoping for leadership and solutions, but the response was dismissive and unhelpful, principal and teacher siding with each other. This was my child's first year at this school and I regret signing him up here even after reading the terrible ratings. Giving them the benefit of the doubt was the worst idea. I've never had an issue at his previous schools like I did here. A school should be a safe, supportive place for children -- not somewhere they are made to feel targeted with no accountability from the administration. I would not recommend this school to any parent who wants their child treated fairly and respectfully. There were a few staff members who were very kind so I'm not saying everyone was terrible but the lack of professionalism and compassion here is truly shocking. No wonder they are one of the worst rated and ranked schools in Glendale. Rated 4 out of 10 on great schools website. He's been pulled out of this school and we're never looking back.

Over the course of 5 years, our experience has been nothing short of enjoyable, pleasant, and lots of progress. In short, when your child attends Tufenkian, you turn into family. Although the academics have been excellent, it wasn't our top priority for our children given their age. Rather, we wanted a nurturing environment where the school attends to your childs being all the while dancing, learning, and making memories they'll always remember. Apparently, based on latest studies on pre-school education techniques (in Italy, no less!) "We don't have a set curriculum. We let the kids decide what they want to learn about each week." I'm sorry?! Talk about the inmates running the asylum! Then we were treated to a series of truly bizarre answers by the director to our questions - none of which were as outrageous as the surprised nonsensical responses would seem to suggest! Let me give you a sample... Thinking about different potential horror scenarios, such as earthquakes etc. we asked: what is the school's emergency plan like? Only to be confronted with a blank stare and a confused pause, as if this is the first time anyone has ever asked anything remotely similar, and then: "Emergency? Well we call 911!" Genius. Okay, how about this one: some schools have webcams in the classrooms that only parents can access and see their kids - do you? Sounding less than pleased, she replies: "no, we trust our teachers and don't see the need for cameras!". Good grief! The school building consists of horrible tiny messy classrooms with too much crap all over the place - hippy style approach to education during formative years when kids actually need a degree of structure and discipline. Atmosphere during recess can only be described as zoo- like. The yard, if you can call it that, is sad and underwhelming, with too many uneven surfaces, obstacles and turns, making it generally unsuitable and unsafe for kids of most ages. There is no field as far as we could tell - no clear open spaces for students to enjoy running around in and exploring nature and their surroundings. The whole place just looks like what it basically is: a series of small, claustrophobic old houses and their equally unexciting front or back yards, brought together over time and forced into becoming an educational institution - located deep in the heart of a residential area, and with prison-like walls and fences all around. Imagine something as cramped and busy as Times Square in NY, without all the glitz and glamour! I don't even want to think about what drop off and pick up would be like at this place. The main entrance is unbelievably uninviting, especially for the target age group - where typically a happy-clappy environment is created to minimize the separation anxiety and endless sobbing which usually ensues. It just had a very off-putting atmosphere - and coupled with the thoroughly unprofessional responses the director provided to what I believe were very reasonable questions, giving us zero sense of comfort, we decided it just wasn't for us. Two stars because we know people whose kids went there and they seemed satisfied so clearly it works for some.

He is always excited to go in the mornings to see his classmates and the teachers. He also enjoys learning new songs and poems, arts and crafts time, and outside play (his favorite). The teachers and staff are super friendly, devoted, and understanding. They always put in effort to create activities for the kids, outside of their usual day-to-day curriculum. Especially on holidays (Halloween, Easter, Christmas, etc.), they plan fun activities, games, and decorations for the kids to enjoy. Also, the school does a great job in keeping parents informed of upcoming events and activities. I will continue to refer friends to Wonder Years!

It is such a pleasure to arrive at pickup time and be greeted with a smile, to hear her speaking to the kids fondly and kindly without exception, and to see her setting clear, manageable, age-appropriate limits for the kids. We appreciate that when Analia has had difficulty she has always framed it as something she and Mrs Jenik Hatamian are "working with her on" - a welcoming, collaborative approach - and that her expectation is always that she will succeed at whatever she has struggled with; if not today, then tomorrow or the next day. She somehow never appears harried or overwhelmed, and she seems to genuinely enjoy spending time with the kids. Analia has also been very proud of what she has learned in Wonder Years. She was showing off her knowledge of the songs, and she has told me a lot about the Alphabet, numbers, and colors that she learned in Wonder Years. She felt so happy with Ms Anahit and Ms Jenik that that she missed them at the weekends. Until now she talks about Ms Anahit and Ms Jenik with great excitement. When she was transferring to higher class I was worried about changing teachers however it turned out that all the teachers at wonder year's preschool are highly qualified and experienced. Ms Naira was our next excitement as a teacher. Recently, at parents meeting her current teacher Ms Tina presented everything so professionally, patiently answered all the questions that as a parent I could only express my gratitude by sharing my experience and recommending this school highly. Also want to refer to the highly organized manager Karine who is always very nice and kind in any situation. They wake up every morning excited for the day. My oldest asks me "what are we doing today at school?" every morning, knowing that a new activity awaits her. The teachers there are kind, well educated in their teaching strategies, willing to put in the extra time, and the program is welcoming. I feel that I have joined a community with this new school. When they get home from school, I don't feel like they need to decompress from a long day, but rather excitement to involve us and tell us about their day.
