    Art time

We attend the ready for preschool class, I signed up my 2 year old since she was 18 months and she's come such a long way. Both, Mrs Richardson and Mrs R are very professional and helpful. At first we had a hard time getting through any of the activities as my daughter just wanted to run around and would not focus. Now she can get through every activity and is also eager to participate, her favorite is rug time, where she learns her colors and numbers and gets to sing songs. She enjoys this class so much and loves hanging out with her class mates. I enjoy it because I get to see how much she learns and it gives us a reason to get out of the house while she learns. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

The toddler class really helped prepare my daughter for preschool and learn how to follow directions and structure.

I'm not an artist, but the instructor made drawing so easy that anyone can do it. They take you through step by step, using basic shapes and strokes like triangles and circles, and make it all so easy. I can't wait to go back again to see who I get to draw next.

I came across this place on my most recent visit to Disneyland/California Adventure over Thanksgiving break. Since the lines for all the rides were horrendous, my boyfriend and I tried some new things in the parks that were not rides. The Animation Academy was the highlight of the trip. There are "shows" every half hour where you sit inside a mini lecture hall and learn to draw Disney characters. There is a Disney animator who walks you through each step so that you come out with a picture that actually looks pretty good! Things move pretty fast so make sure you keep up with the animator and pay attention. Things can go from simple circles to eyelashes really quickly so here are a few things to keep in mind so that you don't seem so flustered during your first visit to the Academy. 1. Get there at least 10 minutes early so that you are guaranteed a seat. People start to line up. 2. When you choose your row, move down all the way to the end of the row and don't leave spaces between you and the next party. They don't have cooties. But most of all, don't be annoying and stop in the middle so that people have to climb over you. You can see everything from the right or left sides, trust me. 3. Follow along with the animator and don't freak if you make a mistake. Erasers are not allowed. If you come to the Animation Academy and follow along, you will honestly surprise yourself with what you can create! We went three times and drew Tigger, Mickey, and Dale. You can ask the guy at the front to see which characters are coming up so that you can plan your visits around their lesson plans! It is basically a free drawing lesson that can be just as fun for adults as it is for the kids. Actually maybe even more fun for adults.

Her painting mathod of starting from big planes and gradually going to smaller planes and details is wonderful and very helpful. So basically, I am in love with this studio! I have learned so much from Alexandra that no one else has ever been able or attempted to teach me. Not only is she a great teacher, but her art is amazing! She teaches all levels, I've seen her teach the basics of drawing 3 dimensional objects to figure drawing, all with the same enthusiasm and devotion to each student.

I don't live in the area yet the teaching, patience and peace within these walls are worth the drive alone if not the benefits on their own. Shanti Art: The space is small yet well organized. One side is for yoga and the other side is for art. It's just that simple and simplicity is one of the best things in life I think we tend to forget about. On the yoga side, there is enough room for eight participants, the perfect size for a yoga class in my opinion. You're offered a mat, sitting pillow and blanket. On the art side, there are three tables that can accommodate about six people per table. There are cubby holes behind the art side of the space for purses, shoes, etc. Service: So far, I've only dealt with Monica and she's awesome. I love her as a yoga instructor. She is quite knowledgeable and detailed with her instruction. I can only imagine she is the same when teaching her art classes. Odds and Ends: Parking is on the street or in the back, free of charge. You can enter either way as well. There is an adorable patio of sorts where they have adorned the walls with art. So cute! You can hear the cars passing by during yoga class, yet once focused and the sound of the music is raised a little bit, the outside noise is easily dismissed/ignored.
