We have been attending all types of classes and camps with generation dcd for 7 years now. My daughter has practically grown up here and has made wonderful lifelong friends. The dance is serious and performance based but not competitive which is the right mix of a technical training without being stressful and creating a harmful atmosphere. They are super inclusive and also a body positive studio. Most classes have a wide variety of people and we always have great experiences. They even do preschool classes and art classes which are also fun an enjoyable for the whole family! If I could afford to take every class here, I totally would. read more

My 3.5 year old is a very happy camper here! She does one of their tumbling classes and it's a blast. It's the one class she always looks forward to. Ms. Malory is patient, funny and very sweet to the littles. We even have a 2 year old that gets adjustments to fit them, and that little one keeps going the whole class. It does say on the class description if you have a younger child you might have to be more involved so you can help your little out.. So, it's perfect for involved parents. As far as the facility, it is so clean, up to date and welcoming. I am so glad we've found you all, and I look forward to my little's growth at your studio! read more

We love this place! I have a 5 & 2 year old and I started my girls here at 18 months and it was the best decision I made for their emotional, social and educational growth. The toddler class really helped prepare my daughter for preschool and learn how to follow directions and structure. I do believe it also helped me grow as a parent, giving me the patience, resilience and tools to help my kids get the most out of the class. Rug time and craft time took some time to sit still and participate but we were always met with kindness, patience and tools to help the kids adjust. We have also done the tumbling class and dance classes, we love them all! All the teachers are patient and reassuring. My kids have grown so much since our first classes. Would highly recommend signing your kiddos up and sticking it out, the growth is huge and we love the support & community this place gives us! read more

We attend the ready for preschool class, I signed up my 2 year old since she was 18 months and she's come such a long way. Both, Mrs Richardson and Mrs R are very professional and helpful. At first we had a hard time getting through any of the activities as my daughter just wanted to run around and would not focus. Now she can get through every activity and is also eager to participate, her favorite is rug time, where she learns her colors and numbers and gets to sing songs. She enjoys this class so much and loves hanging out with her class mates. I enjoy it because I get to see how much she learns and it gives us a reason to get out of the house while she learns. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. read more

We have been with GeneRaTion DCD since my daughter was four years old. She has grown up there, she's learned to dance and sew. She's done gymnastics and art. She's attended almost every summer camp including wood working, art, and theater. She's in the Assistant program which has taught her how to run a class, how to teach, how to lead, she's confident and communicates well with all ages including adults. I don't know what we'd do without them. We drive from Valencia several times a week because there's nothing like this anywhere else. We love this studio and our studio family. read more

We just started classes here and aren't going back, which is a waste of over $300. My two-year-old left both of the art class and tumbling class in tears after having multiple tantrums out of frustration. The classes move too fast - for example, she was getting into painting and then they had to pack it up and switch to another activity, then the teacher blew bubbles a couple times and put it away to do another activity. Again, my child is two and this didn't seem age appropriate, which makes me think they shouldn't have offered the class for kids that young or teachers should be trained to be flexible (i.e. ok, this toddler wants to play with a toy truck - let's have her dad play with her in the corner so she doesn't distract anyone and let them join back in when she's ready). Today she went for tumbling and similarly had a tantrum when things moved too fast with no adjustments for her. Both classes also had rooms filled with toys for other classes not happening then. It was super frustrating for her to see them and not be able to play with them. I was so excited to have her in more structured activities to learn how to play with kids of different ages and this was such a costly disaster. We'll never have her here again, for her mental health if nothing else. It was not a nurturing environment for my toddler. read more

We just started here with my toddler and absolutely love it! The family-run dance studio brings me major nostalgia for my dance studio growing up, you can tell how much love and care they put into their work! I've signed up for their toddler class which is a mix of play, songs, crafts and fun, it's the perfect environment for my energetic little boy. I really feel terrible leaving a bad review, but my child came home from this place almost in tears. My child did an art camp here and said the teachers, who are family, bickered the whole time telling each other to be quiet and cutting each other off. Even if it is a small family owned business this is inappropriate especially in front of the children. Not only was the main lady rude and short with her staff and family, she was harsh with the kids making my child feel uncomfortable. Another thing that was just appalling was the push to make the kids vote for the best art piece. I was there for the art presentation at pick up and it was just uncomfortable to watch them, the teachers, point out the pieces that they liked best FYI this was a mixed aged class ranging from ages 6-16 so obviously they are at all different levels technically. My child said the teacher went to their group and just complimented her favorites and ignored the rest. As an artist myself I can honestly say every child did something different, special and unique. I believe if you are running a camp it should be fun and you should encourage all the kids who came to learn and support your studio, as they all worked very hard. Lastly she spoke to us parents in a condescending tone, as if she was doing you a favor to allow your child to be there. The lady running this studio is Just plain rude, unpleasant and unprofessional all around and I will never bring my child back here again. read more

Generation DCD is amazing. My 2 year old loves her toddler class. Of course it took her some time to adjust in the beginning. But after a few classes you will notice a huge difference. My toddler went from being shy, quiet, only knowing a few colors and a few numbers to being more confident, outgoing, and knowing how to count to 10 and knowing more than 5 colors all before turning 2. I also love that this class requires parent participation but also allows them to become independent. It prepares children for preschool school. I would highly recommend everyone Generation DCD to every parent put there. read more

This studio has become like a second home for our 11 year old. He has been dancing with them now for many years and has learned so much more than just dancing. He has learned to be helpful, to be encouraging, to be supportive. He has made incredible friendships here. It's not just the kids either. The families are helpful and supportive of each other. He has leaned dancing, theatrical performance, art, acro and tumbling, choreography and so many other things from all his experiences. They do seasonal flashmobs around the community which are a ton of fun. We just love the studio and the community it offers. read more

My kid took the tumbling class and the teacher, Ms. Mallory, is a patient teacher. The group she taught was often rowdy and kids' behavior during the class wasn't always the best. But she seemed to handle it each week with grace, though sometimes it meant that the kids do less of the obstacle course that she sets up. The instruction method of the class was too advanced for a class of 4-7 year old kids. For example, she would give instructions to do 7+ things all at the beginning and wouldn't really repeat it. Ex. "First, you're going to do a forward roll here. Then you're going to stand up here and do a forward roll but this time don't use your hands to stand up. Then do a cartwheel. Then crawl through the rings without your body touching them. Then do a handstand. Then do a log roll." Kids can't remember all of that the first time. After a kid would do the first task, she would send them along to continue the course and move to the next kid. However, most of the kids wouldn't remember what they were supposed to do after the first 2-3 things. So some kids would mess around in the middle of the course and the line would get backed up. It would help if there was a second helper who helped continue guiding kids through the course, reminding them of what was next or helping those who are having difficulty with a particular task. Unfortunately, she often didn't have an assistant for the class, and if she did, they were her pre-teen children who often had to be reminded by her on how to help. They meant well, and I love the idea of older kids helping younger kids, but it just did not work here. With just one teacher, the class should really be capped at 6 and not up to 12, or the obstacle courses should be much shorter. I don't have many positive things to say about the owners and managers of the studio. Frankly, from the beginning, I found them to be unpleasant, abrasive, and rude, and at times borderline bullies. It's possible that their communication style is simply different from mine, but "friendly" is not a word I would use to describe them, which is surprising for people who are in the business of working with children. Additionally, speaking in an obviously condescending tone to a parent in front of other parents in the waiting area is truly bad form, which I've witnessed on a few occasions. I understand that this is a community-supported studio. They seem to have a loyal following and I was excited to support a studio like this. However, the owners' lack of professionalism and unpleasantness and the quality of instruction doesn't give me much faith to try any of their other classes. read more
