Just so we're clear, I'm basing this review on several different visits. So our experiences weren't an isolated incident. We used to love this restaurant! I loved their VIP pizza and my wife and I both loved the Greek salad. They used to have good service but not any more! The first visit was to pick up said VIP pizza and a Greek salad; when I called to place the order they told me that they were busy and to give them an hour to get the pizza ready. Although hungry, I obliged. I actually showed up an hour and fifteen minutes after placing the call. Upon arrival, I was told that it would be up in a couple minutes. I wasn't given my order for another hour!!! But wait...there is more...when I got back to the house and sat down to eat, the pizza was more warmed up as opposed to cooked. The crust was 90% dough and you could see the different pieces of the shredded cheese. I ended up throwing it out and eating fish sticks instead. The second visit I was by myself and ordered 2 slices of the VIP for myself as my wife was eating with her parents that afternoon. This experience was at the opposite end of the spectrum: burnt to a crisp! But at least this time I ended up eating it because I wasn't going to throw it away...again. About 6 months has elapsed since that last visit which brings me to last night. My wife really wanted the Greek salad so we were returning from Orlando and figured we would put in a pick order. My wife called 5 times from her phone; no answer on the first call and then hung up on the second and then no answer on the next 3. I tried calling from my phone 5 times as well to no answer. This was Friday night about 6:30pm. Having our mouths set on pizza, we placed an order into Pizza Hut. My wife was disappointed to not get her Greek salad. On our way home we drive past there at 7:15 and there were 3 cars in the parking lot! No excuse not to answer the phone!!! We like doing business with small businesses considering I am a small business owner but we won't be doing business with this establishment who doesn't want the business. What a shame! read more

Only been here once, but it felt like Brooklyn! This is the kind of place that you want to order a REAL pizza from! The decor is real old school Little Italy/Bay Ridge pizza shop, so it feels like you're in a movie almost.....like Goodfellas or something! Not to mention the pizza is really good! The atmosphere is kitschy with lots of references to NY lure. Sopranos and mob films are the theme. Decent pizzeria style menu. The Joe Barron pie is pretty good but not thin, thin crust as the menu describes. The traditional slices were not good at all. The veal parmesan sub was fair overall. Be sure to call in your order hours in advance. They will quote you 45 minutes to an hour for a home delivery and take at least double. Still waiting on the food now...apparently half our order has been done and is just sitting there. You've been warned. read more

Lil Anthonys is hit or miss. Mostly a good experience to be had. Pizza is close to NY, but of course...is not. The strombolis and calzones (which on THEIR menu are exactly the same thing) are delicious. Again, the calzone is NOTHING like a NY calzone, but its great nevertheless. Sauce has a good flavor. First time here with friends. Wait staff was ok. Food not so much. Ordered meatball parm. The bread was over broiled, hard, dry, burnt. It looked like an awful meal on the plate even, all you had was 2 burnt pieces of sub rolls, nothing else to see the meatballs were so small and cut in half. To be fair, I haven't gotten to their pizza yet. It could be worth more stars, if so, I'll update. I have tried several others options though, and the lasagna and garlic knots seem to be a safe and tasty option. This is one of the only Italian places in Clermont/Minneola that delivers and has a decent menu. I generally LOVE their strombolis and the pizzas are always pretty good. My only complaint is the time delivery takes and one of the (young male) drivers are very rude and never says thank you when I tip, and I always tip at least 20%. Will not do delivery again unless it's one of the girls. They are always so sweet and thankful and ask me to double my order once delivered. Pretty good. Went on Saturday night at 6 and had no prob getting a booth plus they had 2 for 1 beers till 7. Spaghetti s a good deal at around 9 bucks and it includes 2 garlic knots and a salad and meatballs which were awesome. Pizzas pretty good too but maybe a bit pricey at $15 for 2 items and charge extra for xtra sauce. This used to be our favorite local restaurant, but lately something has changed. On our last visit, I ordered the Tour of Italy and the stuffed shells tasted like vinegar. The waitress confirmed that the marinara tasted like vinegar to the cooks in the back as well. I asked if there was even supposed to be vinegar in it and she said no. She didn't offer to have it remade correctly and when I asked for a discount since it was disgusting, she gave me 15% off of the dish (about $2.00). I have been in the restaurant business for years. Lil Anthony's has the worst customer service. A couple of months ago we had company over. We had ordered 3 extra large pizzas to be picked up. When my husband got to Lil Anthony's, he found out that they had completely forgotten about our order. He waited 25 minutes ( then add the travel time home), while I sat at home trying to kill time with hungry guests. They gave him a gift card as an apology for a free large cheese pizza. Today we used that gift card. I called ( 1 1/2 hours beforehand) and ordered our pizza and asked for a 4:45- 5 PM delivery. We live about 10-15 minutes away. Again, we had friends over. At 5:30 PM, I called and asked about our pizza & the delivery. I was told that the person who took my order had written down 5:45-6 PM!! The pizza wasn't even made yet!! Needless to say, I told them to cancel my order. Not even an apology from them. I then scrambled around to feed my guests. This type of customer service ( TWICE!!) is not acceptable! Even though we still have the gift card, we will not be going to, ordering from Lil Anthony's again. read more

I just had lunch in Groveland with a friend and her father. We were 1 of 2 tables and we waited 10 minutes for our drinks. I can't tell you how long we waited for 2 slices before I got up and asked is that the 2 slices we've been waiting so long for? Our waitress response was "Yeah yeah don't worry about it" 2 things. 1 she was probably my daughters are which goes to show she has no respect for her elders and 2 I've never had such lousy service . We ordered five pies tonight for a going away party and was very dissatisfied. Burnt crusts, minimal toppings, pies weren't cut through properly, huge chunks of sun-dried tomatoes were inedible. Com ordered for pick up. 50 dollars in food waited ten minutes over the time stated for the cashier to tell me that the coupon was a scam. This was the 2nd time that I ordered a pizza and requested extra cheese (which I paid extra for) and the pizza did NOT have extra cheese. Nothing from the manager saying "how can we make it right" instead she used all kinds of excuses as to why the pizza did not look cheesy. I've been in Minneola for 19 years and I was excited when they came to Minneola, but between the service and the flavor, it's gone DOWN HILL. This is one of the best places i have been at to eat. My family has been coming to them for going on 7 years. The food is fresh and always amazing. At all times of the day you can see them cutting the fresh veggies for toppings or cooking an order of garlic knots. The dough is made there by them, same with the pizza sauce and marinara sauce. The Chicken and Eggplant is also made fresh there. i have seen it many of times coming out of the oven just baked for us all to enjoy.
