Damn this place is addictive Located inside the famous food court, this place makes wheel cake from scratch. You watch an old lady make these cakes one by one on an assembly line machine. It's weirdly addictive--every passerby stops to watch the cakes being made one by one The storefront is brightly lit. Looks really clean. We got the hot milk tea, which tasted really warm and milky creamy. You even get to choose from a lot of different options for sweetness. The service is cordial, and friendly. A slight line, because the place is popular, but the service is fast and the line keeps moving. We got one of the wheel cakes, the red bean version. It tasted AMAZING. Really soft and fluffy on the outside, and really hot red bean filling on the inside with large chunks of red bean. The filling is naturally sweet from the red bed. The wheel cakes looked awesome, and tasted even better than they looked. Definitely worth coming back again and again. read more

My parents like the Yaohan Shopping Center for the variety of stores and giant grocery. They also have a money changer with supposedly good exchange rates for USD to CAD. We parked our car and stumbled onto this great big sign and open display of Taiwanese Wheel Cakes! I don't remember having these in Taipei many years ago so I had to try some! I ordered four Red Bean wheel cakes for just under 6 CAD. Very soft, moist breading. The filling was sweet and slightly on the drier side, but very good and there was lots of it. Definitely no room for air pockets here! Unfortunately they just have red bean and custard flavors. I could imagine them branching out and getting creative with all sorts of flavors. Their drinks are so bomb for a decent price, and not to mention it's all so fresh! * Strawberry yogurt ($7.25) ~ this was super good, there are seeds from the freshly blended strawberry and the yogurt combined with it tastes so good. It's a bit on the tart side but overall after a couple more sips it's not as tart! The yogurt is nice and creamy not too heavy and perfect thickness. And the purple rice as always is cooked perfectly! I loved how delicious the purple rice is each bite elevates more flavour into the drink! * Melon yogurt ($7.25) ~ the melon is super refreshing for sure! I was super surprised of how well it tasted. Usually with melon drinks it's too sweet and too rich. But surprisingly this wasn't too sweet nor was it too rich! The melon was sweet but contrasted nicely with the tart of the yogurt! The purple rice in the drink added nice texture as well! * 9/10 - I am obsessed with the yogurt drinks, strawberry one was favourite out of the two. * 8/10 - the ingredients were definitely fresh! And the taste was good! You can for sure tell it's premium items used. The portion isn't too big but it's perfect size for yogurt drinks or else it's too much! read more

Got some of their wheel cakes for a snack and around 6$ for 4 seemed like a reasonable price! I liked how they had purple yam and the filling was plentiful for both this one and the red bean but the cake itself was a little bit too crumbly/mealy instead of soft. The outside could also be a little bit more crispy! Overall, not bad for a snack during a visit to Yohan, especially the purple yam! read more

This place has really good boba tea. They put a lot of boba in there and the boba is chewy and perfect. The only reason I'm giving them 4/5 is because in my personal opinion they didn't put enough tea in it. It tastes strongly of milk and brown sugar and not of tea. read more

Walked by while shopping at T&T and saw that they offered the butterfly pea flower tea that makes your drink looks a cool blue color and decided to give it a try since I never bothered to go Vancouver for this when it was trending. So the drink I got was a lemonade drink with the added butterfly pea flower tea. It comes with white tapioca pearls and some sort of jelly and two lemon slices. This drink costs $6.81 (tax included). What a hefty price for just lemonade. But I guess it's worth it as a one time thing for the cool colors. The drink itself tasted pretty good. I'd suggest you let the ice melt a little as my first sip was too sweet. Or try asking them to adjust your sweetness level since I see a chart for sweetness and ice level adjustments. I actually prefer these white pearls over the original black ones and always love jelly in my drink. read more

BG favorite for... Hong Kong style iced lemon tea (food court) I had a craving for HK style lemon iced tea, and this place did not disappoint. Searching in a food court where most of the vendors had only bottled drinks, this drink specality place seemed more of a bubble tea / fruit juice place than anything. However, they did list "HK Style" section on their drink menu, and I decided to give it a try. For those of you that don't know, "HK Style" lemon iced tea is distinctive, in that it's strong brewed red tea and then sweetened with liquid sugar and slices of fresh lemon. In some TWese places, sometimes they use a combination of limes and/or lemons, giving it a totally different flavor. A very good box drink version of this, of course, is the ubiquitous Vita brand, lemon iced tea. Although it wasn't in a traditional HK style cafe, and they served it in a bubble tea style, sealed cup, the taste was on point, and for that, I'll give them 4 stars! read more

I believe they took over the space from the juice bar. The wheel cakes are supposed to be made to order, but I saw that it wasn't the case. It's as if they just reheated one; not terrible but nothing to go back for. False advertising though. Definitely nothing like the ones from Tokyo Food show under Shibuya station. Passed by the Yaohan food court today and noticed the sign about a special price for fresh taro. I asked the cashier what's in it, and she said fresh taro and milk. I also inquired about sugar content, and she assured me they don't add extra sugar on top since the ingredients are sweet enough. So I ordered a cup, took a sip and found it way too sweet. The mixture is very creamy, probably because they added something that is not fresh milk. Condensed milk maybe? That would have explained the sweetness. And to my surprise, when I opened the lid I noticed sago on the bottom of the cup. This drink is really more like the Chinese sweet soup type of dessert more than a drink. That's not a bad thing, just unexpected, when I thought I would be getting a cup of fresh taro milk. read more

***This could be an isolated case; I've had good experience here in the past. Terrible customer service from the two male baristas working yesterday, Friday October 27 evening (around 6pm). I placed an order for a hot ginger grapefruit tea + pearls. The barista on the till (Barista A) seemed relatively new on the job and took a while to ring in the order (understandable, not the issue). However he couldn't find the drink in the system and proceeded to ask me again. I told him my order again and pointed to the drink menu mounted on the wall. The other barista (Barista B) came over and assisted A. Unable to find the drink either B instructed A to just tell me it wasn't available (while I was standing right in front of them). After a few more attempts in their POS system they repeated that my choice was unavailable. I then asked if there were any other ginger drinks. They said there weren't any available. B then pulls out a menu and gestures (did not use words) and so I pointed to my original choice and it was then they had the "aha" moment and entered it into the system. I was surprised it came to $6 and they told me it's because I added pearls. After I received my drink I wanted to make sure they got it right so I took it to the food court table area to check. Sure enough, there were no pearls! I went back to ask for a spoon, and B quickly says to A he did not add pearls to my drink. A apologizes and takes my drink to pour some down the sink and added pearls in. When I received the cup again 1/5 of the original amount was gone. A 12oz cup of hot BBT beverage for $6 is quite preposterous given it was subpar BBT and service (i.e. poor attitude from barista B). Definitely not worth it. read more

I felt quite disturbed by the service I recieved from this bubble tea place today. Even from the beginning taking our order they were distant and it felt they could not care less about their customer. We ordered some wheel cakes and a hot milk tea. The ordered wheel cakes with were sub par at best and the tea was luke warm. Hoping to enjoy our tea hot we asked if they could reheat the tea for us. They began to point to at our cup and claimed it was hot enough. Challenging us they resisted our request. Finally after much bickering they took the tea in to get reheated . After waiting several mintes I asked if our tea was ready. They bluntly ignored us and didnt respond to the question. Nearly five minutes later they returned our tea with no words of apologies. The customer service here was beyond poor and downright rude. I do not recommend supporting such ill tempered business. read more
