This was by far the best check-in experience we've ever had! We arrived around 8pm (booked by phone through IHG and used points). Clark was the desk clerk on duty and greeted us with such enthusiasm and kindness. He thanked us profusely for being platinum elite members and said he had already upgraded us before we could even ask. The room was clean and certainly large enough for our one night stay. The shower pressure and temp were perfect. All in all, it was a great overnight stay and experience. We will definitely stay here again on future road trips. Kudos to Clark! read more

I'm writing this review as I'm experiencing the worst visit to a hotel I've had in recent times. Let's start with the fact that when I first arrived at the hotel, I was greeted by an empty desk and then proceeded to wait for roughly 5 minutes for someone to show up. When the front desk agent finally showed up it looked like she had been brewing herself a coffee. I'm so sorry that I'm interrupting you while you were supposed to be doing your job. I had let her know that I had a uhaul with a trailer attached and where would it be best to park my vehicle. She pointed me to the far back lot. Ok no problem that's what's best. Now however when I went to enter in thru the side door my key didn't work. Swiped it twice and both times got a flickering green light but no unlocking. So had to walk around the hotel front with my luggage. Went upstairs to my room only to have my key do the same exact thing. Went back to the front desk and she said I don't know why they won't work and then went over to a machine and said yeah it's programmed to your room. Lo and behold my key finally worked. So we then asked about a pool and she told us that since they own the Best Western next to them that we have access to that pool and hot tub. Awesome, so we head down a connecting patch of stairs only to find that the gate is chained shut. So in order to use said pool, we would have to go back up the stairs, them walk downhill down the driveway to the hotel which has no sidewalk, walked 50 to 100 ft all the way we and the fence to get into the pool. Why is it so hard for your guests to enjoy themselves at your facility?!?! Now that we caught up to current times. For the last hour the room above us must have been hosting a WWE match with the number of slams, pounds and noises coming from above us. I called to the same front desk and all she said is I guess I can call them. Im so sorry that I didn't just suck up the $158 cancellation fee and booked somewhere else because this hotel is a joke and has no idea how to actually be good hosts. Now I would like the owner to contact me but highly doubt that will happen and if they do it will be a form I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay... Etc platitudes that doesn't admit they were in the wrong. read more

We arrived before check-in time, but Jamie was able to get us checked in early. All the other staff members were super friendly and attentive as well. Room was really clean and provided a microwave, refrigerator and more than what we needed which was so nice. Continental breakfast hit the spot, food was really good! After we checked out and we were at the airport, we received a phone call from the hotel letting us know that we left a camera bag behind. It is one that we threw away because it broke, but we appreciated the phone call. Definitely will stay here again and definitely recommend. read more

For a small town hotel this place is great. Room is clean! Bed comfy. Pillows excellent. Sheets soft. TV great. Lighting needs updating to stronger LEDs. Only negative was the line of light that seeps in around the door frame at night. Free breakfast was sufficient. Fake eggs, beacon. Biscuits and gravey. Cereals. Oatmeal was started late so it wasn't ready when it was supposed to be. Lots of water yogurt hard boiled eggs tea coffee hot coco packets bagels and the like. I have stayed at this hotel several times while visiting my family in Grants Pass. The last time we stayed there, was January 18-21. My father had passed away and it was a last minute reservation. This hotel is kept spotless, and the staff is friendly and extremely helpful. Any issue that came up, the staff handled quickly and was super accommodating about anything we asked for. I would recommend this hotel to anyone passing through on the I5 as a convenient and quiet place to stay. AND...breakfast was great! We will be staying there again. read more

I and my 78 year old sister stopped here on our way to Seattle. My sister has significant medical/physical problems, has a walker. The staff have been wonderful, they managed to find an ADA room for my sister and also arranged for my room to be right next door to hers. My sister urgently needed a certain supplement or else she might faint; Keri at the front desk referred me to a local health food store which carried the exact supplement my sister needed. Keri and the other staff have been so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel. read more

This place was an absolute joke. Checked in and with 20 mins received a noise complaint. It was 6pm and 1000x apologies my 3 year old was running around checking out the out dated room. Place is dingy and dated. Hasn't been touched in 20 years. Skip it and stay in Ashland or Medford. Never again. read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel two nights, on our way to, and on our return trip from California. Although it is slightly older, the hotel had everything we needed and I must say the staff was fantastic! Friendly, efficient and accommodating. The bed was extremely comfortable, coffee and cookies in the lobby, Keurig coffee maker in room, and an amazing free breakfast with EVERYTHING you can imagine, hot and cold! All at a very reasonable price. We will definitely stay there again!! Oh, and an Elmer's Restaurant and Lounge just steps away. I highly recommend! read more

Loved staying here! We were on the first floor which was so nice considering we have a dog that needs to go out frequently. They offer a full, free breakfast with everything you could ever want. And the shower head was pure heaven!! I've never had such a great shower before. read more

I've stayed here before and had a much nicer room the last time I was here(which is why i will begrudgingly leave three stars instead of two). Uh so pretty much my room has a weird smell(think faint smell of dirty diaper with a hint of spearmint chewing gum). The bathroom floor feels scummy and like it has a layer of grease on top of it against my bare feet. To top it off there were two long black hairs in the bathroom sink which tells me the room I'm staying in has not been properly cleaned between guests. I travel all over the country for work and almost always stay at Holiday Inn Express as they are typically very clean and comfortable. Very disappointing to travel all day and be given a smelly room that is not up to the standards you expect from a hotel. I was gonna not even leave a review but the hairs in the sink sent me over the edge. read more

We evacuated during the Almeda fire in Southern Oregon on 9/8/2020. Very fortunately, we ended up at the GP HIX for six nights. Four people, one dog, two rooms, and our experience couldn't have been better. First of all, in this crazy Covid era, we were very impressed by the housecleaning staff. Seems like every time we left our room, whether it was 7AM or 11 at night, they were out there CLEANING. Wiping down all the common area surfaces: elevator, doors, floors, walls... everything. We felt very secure. Front desk staff was extremely helpful. Because of our uncertain status (we had no idea, day-to-day, if we could go back home), we asked every day if we could stay one more night. The answer was always "yes." Their helpfulness and flexibility was comforting, especially considering they were very busy every night. Special shout out to the manager, Heidi, who was there to make everything right! She and her staff made sure that we were well taken care of, in a very scary and unsettling situation. Highly recommend this property. read more

This hotel is one of the best Holiday Inn Expresses I've stayed in. (Coeur d' Alene, ID is another favorite). We've stayed here before and it was enjoyable then as well. The room was spacious and comfortable. Great bed/pillows and clean shower (jacuzzi tub) in our king suite. The hotel shares a nice pool with the adjacent Best Western. There is a BBQ and small green space as well. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Located off of I-5 but no road noise. Reasonably good complimentary breakfast. The staff as helpful and professional. We will definitely stay here again when traveling through Grants Pass. read more

I was heading back from Seattle and decided this would be a good location to spend the night on my way back to California. I wish I had driven further. On my way to Seattle I stayed at the Holiday In Express in Medford. I would recommend Medford but I will not stay here in Grants Pass again. read more

I wish I had more good things to say about this place. Our first room was next to the elevator. This kept us awake all night, add in the sounds of a poorly built hallway and you get a symphony of non stop noise right outside your door. We requested a room change and were moved from 3rd to 4th floor rooms. The room itself was better but the level of noise on this floor was also pretty high. The "breakfast" gets mauled through by residents moments after it opens. If you plan to sleep in at all, expect everything to be gone, cold, and rude employees to give you attitude when you inquire about breakfast hours. We were told 7 to 10am for breakfast, and then again told it ends at 9:30 from a different employee. Which one is it? Why would you not restock a breakfast area that's suppose to feed so many guests? Great comfy place to stay when you visit Grants Pass. The staff is delightful. We had a lovely time the week we stayed. Clarke and Sid were very accommodating. They always had a warm greeting for us each night, even a cookie now and then. Breakfast was good too. Each and every staff member made sure our stay was amazing. This Holiday Inn is comfy with a family atmosphere. They also have some nice places to grab a bite to eat nearby, check my reviews they can help because some bites were not so right. read more

Lets face it, Holiday Inn isn't known for being a upscale grandeur hotel. So what you get is a family oriented, or an easy business trip vibe joint to feel comfy and safe, get a quick free breakfast, get a good nights sleep, and then move on. Those who want more then the obvious that a Holiday Inn provides...should go elsewhere. It's not rocket science! :) This might as well be a brand new hotel though, as it looks like it, feels like it, and smells like it! Fab WHOLE hotel remodel complete as of last month. I give it four stars and not five due to two things. 1. Manager lady who checked me in had no smile or voice. I got the silent treatment. She was teetering on being a meanie face. 2. Breakfast is not the greatest. But again, don't come here thinking for a four star experience! So stick with the fresh fruit, bagels and cream chz, and yogurt. Great for grab and go, not very good for eggs or bacon. I love the king bed, it's firm to my liking and lots of squishy pillows! Yay! Great location right off freeway, and close to restaurants and stores. Overall, a relaxing and nice place. Just based on outside looks alone, (shallow right lol) cuz I've never stayed anywhere else in Grants Pass before, this looks like the best place to stay in town. Being under construction, and having limited parking spaces, I can't give it a five yet, but I want to say this is a wonderful hotel with the best staff! The front desk agents, Sid, Clark and Natalie, were over-the-top friendly and go over the top to make sure your stay is perfect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area, and will always stay here when I am needing to stay in Grants Pass. They need additional parking. If you come in late at night, there are o parking spaces to be had. They are aware of the deficiency, and create spaces for you to park in. The hot tub jets don't work, and have only loud obnoxious air blowers running without the water jests is not a relaxing visit to the spa. They need to fix the water jets.. We stayed here on the first night on our pandemic honeymoon along the coast and we loved it so much that we came back again on our way back! The staff were outstanding... Caitlyn and Ben I believe? They made us feel super special on our honeymoon which no other hotel did. The rooms are one of the best deals we found - nicely upgraded, clean, comfortable beds. They allowed us to bring our dog which was also a huge plus and only a $10 pet fee. The suites have a jacuzzi tub which was an added bonus. Visited this area recently and we stayed here at this hotel, this hotel was extremely clean and sanitized under the COVID circumstances. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly hotel members and staff. As we arrived to our room, the room had a sealed sanitized sticker in the door jam letting us know the room was thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the next guest. A so-so Holiday Inn Express. It was available, when some other places in town were running out of king rooms. There isn't much hotel staff has to do when you book online and prepay, and the front desk person did what they needed to do. The hotel looks fairly new, but must be built on the cheap. You feel every step you take in the hallway and in your own room. And you hear every footstep, toilet flush and door opening of those around you. I've enjoyed staying at Holiday Inn Express's before but the Grants Pass, OR location was off a bit. I know Marajuana is now legal in Oregon but I don't want to smell it when I am checking in. At first I thought maybe I had just followed someone in but during my 3 days there it was a subtle constant presence. Also, these beds were so uncomfortable I woke up with a sore back every morning. My grandfather lives in grants pass so I always stay here when I visit. I have no idea why the rating is so low! There is a gym, the rooms are clean and the staff some of the friendliest around. Kimber, the house keeping supervisor is one of the most helpful people I have ever met and always on top of her game. The rooms never smell and nothing is old, maybe 3 years ago the hotel was different? It certainly is nice now! But if you want some tips from a girl who travels 1. Always try to get the top floor so you don't have to hear people walking above you. 2. Ask to not be next to the ice maker or maintenance room. I know this is all basic stuff, but it never hurts to remind people some things to consider. There is a best western across the way as well. But though cheaper it isn't as safe and less amenities. What can I say? As a female traveling alone I like feeling more secure. read more

I stayed in two Holiday Inn Express locations exactly one week apart. The first was in the buzzing metropolis of Yreka, CA. The second was this one. They were very, very different, yet cost exactly the same for a monday night stay. Yreka got four stars for being clean, friendly, helpful, and so on. This one gets two for being, well, not. Maybe HIE is doing a set of rolling renovations, and Yreka is new and shiny while Grant's Pass is still on the waiting list. Either way, everything about this location is dated, from the worn-down carpet to the faded upholstry and the stained counter tops. There's no gym/fitness center, and no pool (neither of which i planned to use, but for the price, and given that other locations provide them, it caught my attention). The employees seemed about as new and fresh as the hotel itself. The offering of 'soft' and 'firm' pillows was undermined by the fact that housekeeping apparently doesn't bother putting the pillows in the correct labeled pillowcases. If you're looking at this hotel because of HIE's reputation and the location, keep on clicking. This place is not up to HIE's standards, and there are a half dozen other hotels and motels at the same highway exit. read more

IS THIS REALLY A HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS? Having had an excellent stay in the HIE in Eureka the night before, I was a bit disappointed with this location. Despite paying the same price for what looked like a brand new hotel room at the Eureka location, the GP location is very dated. I realize this isn't the Ritz, but for $100+ per night, I expect it to be much better than a $50 Super 8 / Motel 6 room, which it was not. At the bare minimum, I expected the beds to be as comfortable as the Eureka location. The people at the front desk were very nice, but I would not stay here again until the place is updated and renovated. read more

We stayed here one night last week and it was A-OK. They had a dog-friendly room available last minute, which was a relief since it was 10pm and we needed to find a place to stop soon. After an extremely long drive from Anaheim we were very pleased when we pulled up to the hotel. It is nestled on a hill in and the lobby was very nice. The front desk staff were very friendly and checking in was a snap. We had a family suite which had 2 queen beds in the main room and a third queen in a separate bedroom. The bed was very comfortable with a great down quilt and comfy pillows. Breakfast was well beyond standard continental of muffins and cereal. They had eggs, sausage, biscuits etc. This is a place I will most certainly stay at again. read more

From check in to check out I had a great experience. Clark was so cheerful and friendly at the desk. He also very accommodating as far as changing our room. So far everything has been excellent. There was a mix up with my reservation through booking.com and the general manager and other front desk staff were so patient and helpful in getting things taken care of. Later, the same evening of my check in, the front desk woman called me and told me I had another reservation booked (probably a second one by accident) and offered to cancel it for me and waive any fees that would have been associated. I thought that was very kind. The room looks just like the photos and is neat and clean. Instant hot water in the shower. It has a fridge and microwave too. Only complaint would be a section of the hallway smelled like cigarette smoke. read more
