I never go to/through Wallowa without stopping at the Little Bear. I love their burgers and waffle fries. During the pandemic, they stayed open by taking phone orders only and brought it out to you, and that does continue. Ordering was odd we walked up to the window and we were told if we wanted to order we would need to call. So we walked back the truck and called in our order the owner was very friendly and helpful she took our order, cooked it, then brought it out to our truck with the correct change. All in all was good experience and the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings was fantastic. After we moved into town, we were constantly told that we needed to try this place. Everytime we drove past, there was always a line of people lined up outside. I finally had the chance to try it with my son and I wasn't disappointed. My son had the King burger with Fries and I had the Chicken Fajita supreme. The Fajita supreme means it has mushrooms with it. It was huge and came wrapped up burrito style. The King Burger was the largest burger with 3 patties. My teenage son was unable to finish it. I also got their Oregon Berry shake which had a mixture of blueberries, huckleberries, marionberries, and blackberries (I think. Ha ha ha). It was very good. M.Crow has pizza, salads, and burgers we are told once a week. The also brew their own beer there. Some NYC expertise with a small town attitude. They have a small selection of groceries, just in case you forgot something on your way camping up the Lostine River. When you are headed in that direction you will see the Blue Banana Coffee shop. We are in town from Massachusetts. My Husband and 9 year old twin sons were on a 3 day 24 mile hike and when they came back today they were sore, happy and HUNGRY! We went to the Little Bear Drive-In and it was outstanding in every way. The food was delicious and it was done very quickly. We had burgers, fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, the BLT and the popcorn chicken dinner. All of it was outstanding. In fact, I have to say that the mozzarella sticks were the best I every had and I have sampled a few in my day. I would like to especially thank the very kind server who brought our order. Just a small food spot in Wallowa but worth the stop as they are doing good drive in food the right way. Greeted by friendly service and a small town feel with great tasting food. I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger with a large fry. The burger was excellently cooked on a fresh corn meal bun that was toasted with just the right amount of toppings. Was served their unique BBQ fries that were delicious. And if that wasn't enough you can finish off with a hand made milk shake that feels like it came right from the farm. Just stopped at this place for ice cream, so first of all you have to call and place your order even though your on property. So we called to place our ice cream order and the lady on the phone got an attitude because we couldn't hear her. Once that happened we didn't order and left. Don't bring your attitude to work. The grass fed beef burgers are wonderful. The beef patties were large enough I couldn't eat all of my burger. You don't see waffle fries much anymore but they have them here. I dipped them in their yummy fry sauce. Glad we found this place and plan to go back. read more

Well I'm passing through town, not a lot of choices so I stopped at this little drive through burger joint. Burgers were on a fresh tasty bun, meat was not a premise formed patty. It was hot and just right with onion rings and fries. You can eat at some tables outside, I'd recommend this place to locals or passers by. read more

Wow. What an unpleasant experience. The calling on the phone to order from someone standing behind the window 4 feet away is dumb. Grumpy lady on the phone said she couldn't hear me. Well maybe open up the window. I asked a couple simple questions about the menu and was met with a bothersome tone. Bathroom was locked. I asked the grumpy lady if I could use the bathroom to wash my hands before I ate, she said no. They don't let customers use the bathroom anymore. The outside tables haven't been cleaned in years. Bird shit, layers of grease and spilled soda and food cover the tables. Food was mid. Atmosphere and attitude loses any return visit for me. I wished I'd read the reviews of others with almost the same experience. I'll pass the word so others aren't disappointed too. The only garbage to throw away your trash is down the alley. A nice customer did inform me that if I wanted to wash my hands before I ate, I could go two blocks away to the city park where they had clean bathrooms. read more

We've driven by here annually for years on our way to the lake, but for some reason we haven't stopped. FINALLY we did stop, because it was lunchtime on our trip back to Portland and we always like checking out a new place. It was a busy, warm Sunday afternoon but the cashier was friendly and efficient. We only ordered burgers and they were excellent. Fresh, hot, and not greasy. The condiments were just the way we like them with lots of crunchy lettuce. We'll definitely be back on our future trips to the Wallowas. read more

The food here my family has enjoyed for quite some time on our way to family events and the like in the Wallowa Valley, with generous portions and good ice cream. I am writing this review as my father and I pulled in today to grab a burger while taking a break from our elk hunt and though we read "open from 11-7" outside, it said closed. We decided to wait as it just turned 11, and a woman pulled in around 11:05. My father pulled forward and politely asked if she knew if the drive-in would today, and we were greeting with an angry glare, door slam, and a shout "Um, yea that's why I parked RIGHT THERE". She stomped off and shook her head. My father smiled and said "thank you" and pulled away. A woman at the local grocery store stated that this is typical behavior because she is "allowed to get away with it". I am not sorry to say they have lost our business, and may I suggest being polite to customers that were in no means causing you harm or stress, but wanted a bite to eat. read more

I have been in Wallowa almost 2 weeks and have been by for lunch quite a few times. Each burger gets better and I ask the kid on the grill to make me something special he definitely delivered. I recommend you take it as it is. It's a small business in a town of 800 people in a county of about 7,000 people. It's not a get rich quick scheme where they are trying to fleece you. I got a small bag of Lays potato chips with each burger I got. I do not need potato chips... I was full each time I finished my burger. This also is not a McDonald's your bathroom at home may be bigger than their kitchen. There has always been 2 people here one 2 take orders and one to cook so don't expect fast food turn around on your order. Things cost money so yeah if you just need a cup it's going to cost you .25 cents I'm sure they don't get things for free so neither should you. I would love to come back some day and see that they are still slinging burgers so keep buying them! read more
