I don't know what it is about Joseph and Enterprise, Oregon, but the size of their salads is about five times bigger than where I'm from, and I'm loving it. It was hard for me to finish because it was so big, and I am a big eater. The lettuce tasted very fresh, and the dressing tasted homemade. Regarding the service, the woman who greeted and served me was extremely polite. She checked on me often, filled my water every time it was down a couple of ounces, and seemed very kind. I would say the service was great. When it comes to the ambiance, this place is a trip. Honestly, I did a double take and walked in and out a couple of times because I wasn't sure it was a restaurant. I thought it was a pet shop. I honestly could not tell. To me, it was definitely quirky, but it fit the overall vibe of the town of Joseph. I really enjoyed watching all of the customers come in with their dogs. Owner Liliang Sun operated his restaurant in Council for five years before moving to Cambridge in 2022. He's a one-man band, serving as host, order-taker and cook. The menu isn't extensive but offers a good variety. I ordered Kung Pao chicken while my wife and her friend ordered the general's chicken. The Kung Paolo was ok, but lacking the flavor and heat of the traditional dish. I liked that he added in-season asparagus, even though that's not a traditional ingredient. The dishcame with a choice of white or fried rice. The only diffwas a splash of soy sauce and a bit of scrambled egg. It didn't look fried and lacked green onions, meat and mushrooms. The general's chicken, an American-Chinese invention, was coated with a sweet sauce reminding me of 1960s sweet and sour. Mr. Li is nice and there were a number of customers who came in to eat and took orders to go while we were there. This isn't the greatest Chinese food in the world, but it was ok for three hungry campers.
