Not this guy. I ordered a meat deluxe pizza, 8 square, and it was as always, crispy, cheesy, meaty and delicious. This pizza is by far the best Detroit has to offer. I love coming to Buddy's when we I'm in town, and every time I come, it is consistently delicious. If you've never had a Buddy's pizza, do yourself a favor, go get one. Or two even, they heat up well in an air fryer. Another home run pizza for Buddy's. And happy anniversary. Here's to another 80.

Buddy's is the OG Detroit pizza spot. The inventor! Was so stoked I was finally here! I went with a 4 corner, half cheese, half pepperoni, well done and a Vernor's to drink. My friendly waitress let me know it would be 15-20 minutes. My pizza arrived. How was it? Everything I had dreamt of and more! The pizza was so delicious! The cheese, the crust, the cheese skirt. Everything about it was great! Crunchy, cheesy, piping hot! Such a good pizza. I only ate 2 slices, since I was going to other spots during the day. (I did eat the leftover 2 slices after the Tigers game that night. Delicious cold, too!) Check that off the bucket list. Would definitely come back. So glad I finally had a chance to try out the original! Soooooo good!

We sat at one where another group was sitting at the other end. The service was great and they constantly came outside to check on us and refill our waters and take our old plates away. We ordered charred broccoli (forgot to get a photo, but it was good), and the packard pepperoni pizza, which had pepperoni, jalepenos, and house-made hot honey. It was so delicious! I love that the center dough was a little bit soft and the edges were perfectly caramelized.

Wait times were up to 35 min., but the non-alcohol bar wait was only ten. We chose the latter, gave our mobile number, and were ushered out of the entrance way and into another quieter, cooler, unpopulated hallway in the building to await an all clear, come on in text. That was nice. At the bar, and our server carefully explained the pizza process (~ 25-30 min. wait) and vegetable dishes (10 min wait). We ordered our meal cho, and then a couple N.A. beverages. Beverages seem to all come in bottles and cans. Of the three I tried with my companion, none were standouts in goodness. Water was served in a carafe along with a glass for each of us though. As folks got seated at the bar there was a buzz of excitement about the newness of the place, the menu and the process. After waiting and waiting, while watching one pizza after another go out, one by the each, to others, the excitement died and folks quieted, and just waited and waited for their food. I ordered Charred Briccoli, and honestly, it was the BEST EVER. I shared it with my companion, but by the time it arrived, I was hungry enough to devour it all by myself. We shared the Cowabunga Supreme Pizza (with Fennel Italian sausage, pepperoni, olives and mushroom with spicy red sauce). The corner pieces were crusty delicious, but the inner piece dough I tried was undercooked. Not great. All in all, I applaud the new effort. The people we spoke to who served and ran around were positive and really industrious. Hope management will obtain a beer / wine license one day to make the bar wait a little easier for patrons sitting there. And, an extra pizza oven (or two) might help with patron meal timing eventually.

I don't know what this man's intentions were, but he could've came up to me and just simply asked "are you doing okay? is there anything i can do for you?" instead of scooping me out as if i was getting ready to commit a crime. as I spend more time being back in my home in Detroit, i'm just not understanding why it's too difficult to receive decent and humane customer service. i'm just in complete concern & dismay due to this experience, do so much better.

I went to the location near Broadway Downtown and walked out. I kept searching for other spots in the area. Thanks goodness Grandma Bob's kept popping up. I thought I knew what I wanted before I even stepped foot in the restaurant. Looking at the menu I wanted to try about four pizzas. I opted for the Mushroom pizza and it didn't disappoint. It was absolutely amazing. The lemon was a nice bright touch. Not overpowering. The cheese. The crust. Baked to perfection. The Greek Salad was delicious also. Service was a 10/10. I LOVED the atmosphere. Nice bar area. They also have a patio but it's too hot to sit out. I am planning my next trip back just to come back and eat here.

For a starter, the cashew Caesar salad ($8) was ordered. It came with mixed greens, house-made cashew Caesar dressing, fried shallots, and vegan parmesan. This was very tasty. It was unique with the fried shallot addition. The dressing was just enough. It all appeared very fresh and crisp. The cheese had somewhat of an odd texture, but not a big deal. For a meal, the lobster roll pizza ($45) was ordered. This was so unique that it had to be tried. It came with 6 oz. wild caught lobster, herb crème fraiche, celery and onion brunoise, Cape Cod chips, and chives with drawn butter and lemon. This was very rich, so the addition of the lemon juice and crunchy chips really helped offset that. It was also heavy due to the components incorporated. The lobster appeared fresh and there was plenty of it. The butter was not even needed, but solid for a slight dip. The crème fraiche was solid and different. The crust was crispy and great too. Will I go back? I would, yeah.

The individual antipasto salad ($10.99) and the Detroit PBS 4 square ($15.99) were ordered. The salad had chopped romaine and iceberg lettuce with imported ham, salami, and Wisconsin brick cheese. I could not believe how big this was given it was just an individual portion. They appeared to be fresh ingredients with a simple vinaigrette dressing. It was nicely done. The Detroit PBS was Detroit style pizza with original pepperoni under their Motor City cheese blend with Old World pepperoni on top. This was very solid. The edges were very crispy with a good amount of sauce and cheese. The cup and crisp pepperoni added to the crispiness factor. It was a well-done pizza. Will I go back? I would.
