Food was Amazing. Service by staff even better…read moreLocation was a little hard to find but a quick u-turn was worth it. Inside was nicely organized and did I say food was great! We had the fried catfish with collared greens , fries, and Mac and cheese. Large portions made "with love" according to kitchen staff. Everyone was joyful and pleasant. Highly recommend this joint. Loved the smoked turkey in the greens!

We were seated within 5 minutes after the table was cleaned off. We decided to get catfish with collards and mashed potatoes with gravy, and fried pork chop with Mac and cheese and potatoe salad. While waiting for our entrees, we received a biscuit with butter and strawberry jam on a small plate. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come out. We did get plastic cups to self serve our drinks. The catfish had a pretty brown coating but could use more seasoning. The collards tasted like it came out of the can of Glory greens. The mashed potatoes need salt and pepper and butter. The fried pork chops needed salt as well. The Mac and cheese looked like Velveeta and the potatoes in the potatoe salad was firm but had a decent taste. There wasn't a designated server for any of the tables. There were at least six other tables with two or more people at each table. It seems to be a little disorganized with serving people. We had to ask for a to go box to a woman who was walking around with her hands in her pocket. We just assumed she worked there as well. There was a jazz band scheduled to perform in the other area of the building at 6pm tonight. I'll stick to my chicken gizzards and fried chicken if I return again. The prices are reasonable for a soul food restaurant. The sweet tea and kool-aid was good as well. Everyone was nice and pleasant upon entering the restaurant.

We've been coming to Chick N Roll for takeout for a while because the food is consistently good,…read morebut this was our first time dining in with my family. We had a group of 8 adults and 1 child, and they accommodated us very easily. There's plenty of seating with a mix of booths and tables, so it never felt cramped. One of my favorite parts of the dining experience was that they have board games scattered throughout the restaurant. It made eating out with family much more enjoyable while we waited for our food. My daughter played Connect Four, the crocodile tooth game, and a fishing game, which kept her entertained the entire time. Even though we had a large group with several different orders, our food came out surprisingly quickly. We placed our order on the kiosk ourselves, but the staff still brought every dish out to our table, which was a nice touch. My go-to order is always the pork teriyaki bowl. It comes with a generous portion of pork and rice along with fresh julienned onions, carrots, and green onions. It also includes miso soup, you just have to remember to select the option to add it when ordering. My husband always gets the chicken sandwich with the sweet and savory sauce. The chicken is perfectly crispy every time, and the sauce really takes the sandwich to another level. My daughter loves the fried wings with the soy garlic sauce. They're crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the sauce has a sweet, teriyaki-like flavor that's always a hit with her. If you have picky kids, you can also get it without sauce and opt for the dressing on the side to dip for $0.75. i always get an extra cup as their soy garlic sauce pairs well with my pork teriyaki bowl! The menu has something for everyone, with a great variety of Asian fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, rice bowls, noodles, and appetizers. It's one of those places we keep coming back to because the food is consistently delicious and the owners are always welcoming and kind. If you're looking to support a great local business, Chick N Roll is definitely worth a visit.

The staff were very nice and you could tell they all got along very well, we had a few different servers because they were all helping and being attentive. We appreciated that. If we ever did come back (visiting from NC), it would be for that. Negative: the food just wasn't good. It was alright. The gravy wasn't what I was expecting- like thin and watery, which is just a personal preference but it tasted vinegary? . My burger taste wise was good and filling. Cheese was melted and yummy, I did not like the bun, again personal preference and all that. Had the Brussels sprouts for app, partner didn't like it, I believe it was the sauce again vinegary but I didn't mind them. It was a nice surprise. Partner also had chili hot dog which looked amazing ; also just tasted alright. Overall nothing to rave about.

My husband was pretty satisfied with his catfish. I found my fish to be a bit too fishy and had to spit it out halfway through. My husband even said mine tasted too fishy for his liking as well and couldn't finish it. He ordered the catfish and enjoyed that. I think the serving sizes were a little disappointing for the price. Upon arrival, my husband found that they were not yet open, despite their hours stating they would be. Eventually, when they let him in around 20 min later, it seemed like the staff was not anticipating a customer walking in, and they explained that getting their food truck ready was their top priority. It was a disappointing experience, since it was Father's Day and he was really looking forward to trying this place out for his Father's Day lunch and it wasn't the best experience. He did enjoy the food and said he'd order it again for himself, but from the food truck next time because it seems maybe those customers might have better experiences. Personally, I would not return.

I had heard the food was…read moregreat, but had seen other not so nice reviews as well (you never know until you try it though). Ill try to give y'all a good honest opinion of the restaurant and food. I had seen the shrimp and crab philly posted on this page and thought "I've got to try that, I've never had any sandwich like that before." Well today was the day. I placed my order over the phone and the young lady who answered was very nice, (the ticket had the name Destiny on it). She answered all my questions and took my order without any issues. When I got to backstreet crabs I observed the gentleman cooking wearing gloves, a head covering, and a beard net. The young lady was helping some other customers and bagging up their order. She told me they were working on my order and I could go ahead and grab my drink (cooler with bottles and cans located in the customer seating area). When my order was ready it was boxed up and shown to me to make sure it was what I had asked for. Everything looked and smelled good. Staff was very friendly the entire time. Here's the pros of the meal: It was delicious! Piled high with filling and very flavorful. There were whole shrimp, not pieces. I think around 6 good size shrimp in the sandwich. There was so much filling I had to take a layer off the top. Fries were cooked perfectly as well. The only negative thing I have to say about the whole experience was that the sandwich was very wet, so the bread got soggy fast. Did that stop me from eating it, Nope. It was still delicious. I did end up taking the filling out of the bread once it was too soggy for my liking and just eating the filling. Just FYI if you plan to order over the phone you will need to pay with card while you are on the phone, but it wasn't a surprise, she did tell me when I asked to place a to go order. I'll definitely go back again, I've got my eye on the crab cake sandwich for next time or maybe some wings. Love to help local hometown!
