The service was good and the food was okay too, however, i went to the bathroom while they had my credit card and when i came out, my friend already had my credit card and was ready to go. I never had the chance to fill out the tip section myself because when we left and there was no one at the front desk. I absolutely wouldve tipped generously but i just didnt have the receipt anymore so we just left after paying. I checked my bank later that night and they added a 20% tip themselves. Excellent food and drinks! We went on a Wednesday and enjoyed 20% off a bottle on the wine special. We ordered the fried tomatoes which were crispy and flavorful with onion, cheese and balsamic. Our favorite was the cheesy garlic bread. For dinner we had the white pizza and the spicy rigatoni vodka. Both were excellent, and the serving size was large with leftovers. Cute little neighborhood Italian restaurant. I want to like it more. The food was totally fine, but nothing amazing. The chicken parm was a bit dry on the outside and needed more sauce, the burrata beet salad was tasty and rich. The service was quite slow. We sat around with our finished appetizers for about half an hour before anyone even thought to ask us if we needed anything. Large portions is a consolation I suppose. They have a 5% junk fee on the bill that is not a gratuity but called a service fee. One of the growing number in DC, and apparently it went up from 3% recently. read more

I ordered the Mt. Vesuvius Pizza. The crust was thin, but soft. The jalapeños were spicy, but not overwhelming and the meat on top was thick cut and fresh. I would go back for this pizza alone, but I also want to try all the other menu items. We finished with the cannolis for dessert, trying out both the original and the chocolate options. The cannolis were on the smaller side, which was a good thing considering how full we were from our meal thus far. If you've made it this far in my review, you should give Little Cocos a try. Came here with some friends of mine for brunch after hearing really good things about it and we really enjoyed our time here. We started with the sweet corn and jalapeño Zeppole (Italian fritters, fontina, basil aioli) which were my favorite thing we ordered. They melted in your mouth and were super flavorful. We also split the chocolate and raspberry donuts, which were also really tasty. For my main I got the brunch pizza (white sauce, 2 over easy eggs, bacon, potato). I liked it but didn't love it. I think it would've been better to split rather than as a whole entree for one person. My friends both got the Italian baked eggs (beef and pork Bolognese, grilled bread, Parmesan) which seem to be the popular thing to get as I watched them bring the same dish to multiple diners while we were sitting there. I had a single bite of it and really enjoyed the Bolognese sauce and while I didn't get to try any of the grilled bread, it smelled delicious. Had brunch with a big group of friends here. It's a nice walk from the Georgia Petworth station on the green line. They were super accommodating for our big group and really took care of us. Willing to let us wait for others to arrive, let us make substitutions by (maybe more so jokingly) offering to get an ingredient they didn't have from a store across the street. The man helping us this morning seemed more so of a leader at this restaurant like a manager or owner, was very relaxed and said we "can do anything with him" when making a couple special requests. We got the bottomless mimosas (amazing deal, amazing mimosas of different fruity flavors) and he really kept them coming!! The spicy rigatoni was amazing a perfect combo of creamy, tomatoy, and spicy. Amazing fresh donuts. Not very crowded or loud. I noticed a lady sitting alone just drinking coffee and one other waiter was chatting with her pretty consistently keeping her company because the place wasn't busy. Understated, underrated, and overdue for your visit, Little Coco's is an eclectic pizza and pasta shop whose stated mission is to provide clever riffs on classic Italian dishes. They do just that. Their dishes thoughtfully take fundamental classics and put a spin on each of them. While some of these variations are superfluous, others add a lot to the experience. They make their pasta fresh, and it's exceedingly well crafted. The cacio e pepe has delicious thick egg noodles and is served with a perfectly emulsified pecorino sauce using a very high quality cheese. I am not a fan of the breadcrumbs (an unnecessary trend a lot of restaurants are doing now) as they don't really add anything to the dish since you don't notice them once mixed in (and you have to mix the pasta into the sauce). But the flavor is there. Maybe very slightly too heavy on the pepper, but nonetheless an outstanding dish. Even better is the bigoli - with thicker noodles and an incredible bolognese sauce that will keep pulling you back. And as far as appetizers go, get the house made bread or the zeppole - they're both amazing. For dessert, you will not go wrong ordering their tiramisu. The service is great. The staff are clearly proud of where they work and what they serve. They are friendly, attentive (but not overly attentive) and informative. Very professional. The design of this place adds a lot to the experience. Downstairs, they have brick walls, diner-style booths, hanging red lights, spherical golden lamps, checkered black and white flooring, and bold colors of red, black, and white all around. It's eclectic and full of color, but it's also warm and comfortable. Upstairs, they have a really nice and quaint rooftop patio. The restaurant is well designed. The price is extremely reasonable. You can't beat it. A must-try restaurant if you live in DC. Don't come expecting traditional Italian food - that is not why they do. Most places that try these modern eclectic spins on pasta fall flat on their face, but this place lands with grace. We will definitely be coming back. read more

I love this place so much! While I've never actually eaten in the downstairs restaurant, I do love me the Little Coco's pop-up bar upstairs. The space upstairs is pretty small, so I was little worried that the quirky, beachy vibes would be insanely popular destination on a summer Friday, but it was the perfect balance for what we were in the mood for. We only ordered a few snacks (was a big fan of their crispy, stringy fries) and a few concoctions that our bartender, Matt threw down for us. While the company that surrounded me was the tops, Matt really did help us to make the whole evening a fun and memorable one. He was hilarious and still very accommodating and. Since moving to the DMV from North Carolina, I've been on the hunt for an excellent italian restaurant. I found it in Little Coco's. We sat outside on a cool fall evening, the restaurant was packed; service was quick and courteous nonetheless. We shared a great bottle of lambrusco, and started with a prosciutto and burrata with fresh bread (a meal in itself). Next we tried fresh ravioli, gnocchi, and the sailor man pizza. Rounding out the meal, we shared a cannoli and tiramisu. I cant speak for the gnocchi (which looked amazing), but the pizza was light and flavorful, full of vegetables and creamy ricotta. The ravioli were the fresh pasta I'd been missing and full of chèvre. And tiramisu, magic. It's the perfect dessert (need i say more?) I cant wait to return. read more

I love this little Italian spot! It's great for a casual weeknight dinner or a nice catch up with friends on the weekend. Their Italian menu features pastas and pizzas, along with an array of delicious apps. The Zeppole are cheesy and crispy, with a delicious herb mayo. The wings were plentiful and tasty with a whipped blue cheese sauce. They are surprisingly spicy, though! We also had the whipped burrata with prosciutto, which is served with a large hunk of soft, fresh bread - perfect for a group. The pastas are always my favorite dishes here, including the Bigoli (like a bolognese) and the Squid Ink Capellini. The pizzas look great, though, and are well-sized - one could certainly feed two or one super hungry person. Their desserts are also lovely, especially the Tiramisu and Cannoli. Our waiter was awesome, his name was Damon. He checked in on us periodically to ensure we had everything we needed for an awesome dining experience. I should tell you that I am italian and completely qualified to underscore the superlatives in this review. Walking in was eyebrow raising. The outside looks very little italy. I was charmed but also put off by the run down shanty. The inside is super cozy. quaint. almost a little too hipster and gimmicky. But we overlook these things. The food was incredible. We started off with burrata and prosciutto for appetizer. So frickin good!! The burrata and olive oil was divine!! And oh the prosciutto is a delicacy worth ever penny. It's more filling than you think. For the main course we got the classic margherita pizza and the ricotta cavetelli pasta. yum! Both were really good but I think the housemade pasta was the showstopper. oh magaw! so good! You can tell the pasta is housemade. The people behind Little Coco's have a few other top names in the city to their portfolio and the food is consistently good throughout. My friends and I went there for brunch on a Saturday and ordered their version of eggs benedict, French Toast, and the breakfast steak. For only $28, you get any brunch entree with bottomless mimosas (regular and pomegranate) or beer. Every item we ordered was spot on and I'm obsessed with their pomegranate mimosas. The server does an excellent job of making sure your glass is never empty. 2) Portions: For a city know for smaller portions than other parts of the USA (ahem, Middle West), Little Coco's is not conservative. Portion sizes are HUGE. So much so that if you have a group of four, you can order 3 dishes and have everyone leave full. 3) Space: It's beautiful. They have booth seats up front and smaller tables in the back with a bar. The decorations are quirky, but make the space feel casually classy and homey. Great brunch at Little Coco's! I had the Italian Baked Eggs which were delicious. They came out from the kitchen served very hot with a rich flavor... it almost tasted like eggs over bbq pulled pork. It was great to have the toasted bread along with it to dip in the meat. The table also shared the donuts which were warm and delicious. Bottomless mimosas for +$19 were also delicious (worth it if you drink 2+ mimosas). Really cute atmosphere and decor and the service was decent. Somewhat slow service, but we did not at all feel rushed which was nice compared to some places who are pushing you along to stick to a strict table time limit. What a fantastic find! We went on a Friday night for their appertivo special. For $30 per person, we got endless cocktails and multiple courses of food (5-7 pm). I was so confused on the food part. But in short, it's a muticourse selection of their hot and cold items. Plenty of food -- you will leave full! We truly loved the experience and our servers were so friendly. We joined with our twin babies and they loved it. The spot is family friendly with stylish high chairs and for those rare, lovely warm evenings, grab an outdoor table. I've never had burrrata and oh, what a pleasant surprise! It has a rich buttery flavor and was served with a thick slice of toasted ciabatta. The generous portion of prosciutto added a nice salty flavor. My entree was the beef and pork bigoli with a rice creamy tomato sauce. This pasta was unique in that the pork was shredded instead of ground which added a nice texture. I would love to return and try their pizza which looked appetizing from afar. Sometimes I read Yelp reviews of a place that is really highly-rated and get excited, to the extent that by the time I actually go to said place, I've overhyped it so much in my head that the experience in real life disappoints. However, let me assure you: this is not one of those times. Little Coco's was actually as delightful as I expected. It is cute and cozy, with fantastic food and equally fantastic service (shoutout to our awesome waitress, Katina!). I happened to go on a Monday (completely not realizing it was half off pizza night, what whaaaaat), which just sweetened the deal even more because who can say no to a good deal on incredible food?! I've tried several of their pizzas (been here at least three or four times by now - as you can tell it's a favorite) and they are all delicious. Especially fantastic are the "Mt. Vesuvius" and "'Nduja Really Wanna Hurt Me?", which have uniquely satisfying flavor profiles that just blew me away. LOVE the ski lodge upstairs and delicious hot cocoa! I really like the cozy ski lodge game room upstairs with fake fireplaces and spiked hot cocoa. Although I tried the spike "3 Cornered Hill" with yellow charteuse and my husband had the "Combo in a Cocoa" with bourbon and oatmeal stout, I like the classic virgin hot cocoa the best. It's so rich and indulgent! The "Why is Hot Wine So Delicious" mullied wine had some nice spices, the "Hot Buttered Rum" is on my list to try next time. The savory onion and cheese zeppole were quite different than the sweet beignets that I had in mind. The filling was interesting and quite mushy. They were fun to try, but wouldn't get them again. My husband enjoyed brussel sprouts with bacon. My husband and I got here at 9 and it was pretty packed. We couldn't find a place to sit and grabbed a couple of tree stomp stools. After patiently waiting for 15 minutes, we snagged a pair of cozy leather chairs and then we upgraded to a table 20 minutes later. We played a few games (I beat my husband at Checkers!). I wouldn't recommend coming here in groups if you don't mind standing all night. Its quite cozy and you might not be able to snag a table. You'll have much better look in pairs.
