Mine was tasty enough, as the onion came through the other flavors, which I happen to like. She would have liked some salt, but apparently none was available at the counter. She had a chai latte and I had a green tea matcha with coconut milk. I didn't notice until I got to the bottom, but the coconut was mostly on the bottom. I brought an almond croissant home, which we haven't tried yet. I think I read that they make most of their pastries, so hopefully it's good. I can add to this later if it isn't. What most should know is that they have signage all over the place that says you can't hoard a table and wifi for more than 2 hours. It's obviously a well-liked coffee shop. We booked Jen for our small wedding in 2020 as well when we decided to postpone the large event. She made us a small one tier cake that was perfection. She convinced me to forgo my idea of a semi-naked cake for our large wedding and thank god I listened to her and gave her the freedom to do what she does best because look at this masterpiece!!!! There was no color or decoration or use of "creative freedom" that Jen (owner) said she would use. It looked basic and cheap, pic below. I had confirmed with Jen 1 month out via text what our wedding colors were going to be and specifically asked if she could add some of these colors and she said it was not a problem. I also said that yes she could have "creative freedom" when asked only to be extremely disappointed. Text Screenshot attached. Furthermore on our wedding day I texted Jen when I saw the cake and she responded saying I "received a cake you were charged for". Whereas nowhere in our contract or conversations was it brought up that icing color or decorating was a different cost and on our contract it simply stated "2 tier cake". I would have paid more had I known this or was communicated. Also on our wedding day texts Jen made it clear that my over $1,100 order was insignificant as she was dealing with another wedding that was having issues. Our wedding was having issues as well and then this cake and communication certainly didn't help. As you can see from my Yelp profile, I am a huge advocate for small businesses and it is disheartening when a small business acts so corporate in their handling of an issue. I paid Jen (owner) in full more than 6 months before our wedding as covid was hitting small businesses hard and to be let down by the end result is just unfortunate. I heard the cookie sandwiches were good. All cupcakes were missing meringues as discussed I would not recommend Ruby Jean.
