I have never written a bad (or good) review due to politics or complaints about MSNBC or CNN being on the many TVs at many restaurants before. I won't start now. This review is based on the food & service. You know.... The reason the restaurant reviews exist! The food was excellent. We got a variety of things. Everything came out perfect. They customized our meals as we needed, accommodating allergies & preferences as needed. The kids devoured their food. The adults enjoyed everything. When mistakes were made, they were corrected in a very acceptable manor. The service was friendly and attentive. I have been here 3 times .. try them again , they said .. the food is good they said ... 1st visit me and two other friends watched them circle around the restaurant go to every table but ours to take our order ... we ended up staying just to see how long it would take ... 30 mins and then our food was nothing to talk about .. 2nd time same experience .... Today is the 3rd and final time . Not only did I wait 15 mins at the register while the girl spoke to every single person but me it actually took another waitress to come up to me and take my order . It's better when you dine in. I tried this spot a few times in 2018 and 2019, did not care for it at all. However, this last weekend I decided to give them another shot and was pleasantly surprised. The service is fantastic, their customer service skills are amazing. I guess you could say they are the Chick-Fil-A of diners. I don't drink coffee but I did watch as a sweet woman went around the diner every few minutes to top off coffees. They were constantly cleaning the tables, wiping down the salt and pepper containers and just keeping it clean. I don't think it is because of Covid, I think that they like to keep it clean. The waitress who I think may be the owner was ridiculously friendly but not in an intrusive manner. I'm not a regular, but she certainly made me feel like one. Let's get to the food. I went twice in one weekend. Both times I had the 2 egg breakfast. It is two eggs, your choice of protein, toast or English muffin and grits, fruit or home fries. Both times I picked eggs over medium, bacon, white toast. One day I had grits and the next it was fruit. The grits were perfect. Be warned the fruit is not fresh, so I will stick with the grits. The bacon was crisp, eggs were PERFECT and they use real butter on the toast. If you're looking for a trendy place to dine, this is not the spot for you. If you're looking for a breakfast place that serves up fast and delicious food with excellent service then give this place a try. This morning, my husband and I fortunately had some delish breakfast food from the Little Creek Diner in Norfolk Virginia via grubhub delivery. My hubby had a sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on rye bread while I had the flounder breakfast with eggs, rye bread, and fruit.  The only caveat is that the guava and pineapple fruit mixture was outside my usual cup of tasting tea though fortunately the taste of the rest of my breakfast food and the friendliness of the driver made up for it. read more

This is such a gem. It's kind of tucked away but worth coming. The food and staff are equal. Both are of great quality and dependability. This may be my first visit, but it will not be my last. This is a true local spot where everybody that comes in knows each other. Our server even asked if we were from out of town since we were not regulars. They have 14 tables and a counter and provide standard diner fare in good portions. There is about 10 omelets to choose from, pancakes, waffles, and what is referred to as Hearty Breakfasts. Hearty is the right term, those plates are full. I had the Italian omelet. Three eggs with sausage, peppers, and mozzarella. A side of home fries, toast, and sausage. I am a huge fan of the classic American diner because of home cooked style, you may also find the outrageous deconstructed meal that you may love or hate it. Food is always great. Service is great, very nice people/family. They also sell homemade preserves that are amazing.

This place is a hidden gem! It may not look like much on the outside but the food has never disappointed me. I lived right around the corner from this place for three years before I tried it and I have been kicking myself for not going sooner. It is small and in need of repair but do not let that discourage you. For breakfast I recommend the Vanna's Benny and for any other time I recommend the Philly, I am vegetarian so they made it with no meat and it was AMAZING!
