Food was good. Service was quick! Our server was patient while we looked over the menu. We ordered the Elvis Pancakes, two egg breakfast and an omelet. All was good but we found it funny the "cheesy" grits had a slice of american cheese on them. Large portion of pancakes for around $16, if going out for breakfast I would order here again, overall cost around $55 for two people. Accessibility: Wheelchair ramp in the front slight ramp ish bump upon entry to the restroom. Bathroom sink does not have room for legs if using a wheelchair and larger stall is not very roomy. Once in the restaurant there are steps down to an additional seating area but you are able to enjoy the full experience without using any steps otherwise! Was pretty loud when we went on a Saturday morning, but I added noise cancelling earbuds and was fine. My service dog came along and was allowed in with no push back, the staff did not interfere with him either.

The food at this restaurant was simply divine. I love the Customer service and the ambience. It did not take long for the food to arrive at the table. I had the pancakes which I was told they have some of the largest pancakes in the 757 area. I love the crispy edges and the toppings. There are a variety of different toppings that you can try. This was an absolute superb visit. I would definitely try them again and again and again. Make sure when you visit try the humongous pancakes. You will not regret it. They also have a pretty good drink menu if you partake. The omelettes were seasoned excellently as well

Service was great. Food could use a bit more seasoning. Haven't been in a long, long time. Really like the new decor. I will be back again.

I'm not sure how to rate this restaurant. I visited them while eating restrictively so my meal was simple. I had steak, eggs, and coffee. The steak (medium) was cooked perfectly but it was thin and fatty. My eggs over medium again cooked perfectly. And grilled toast w/butter. My coffee black with one Splenda was okay, not rich and bold like I prefer. The service was quick and the hosts were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was that of a diner. Overall my experience was satisfying but honestly, without the app, I couldn't tell you where they were nor if I could return. Nothing stood out that would make me go searching for them but if ever I am hungry and they are close by I would eat there again!

Love the old school dinner vibe. The license plates on the wall also give it a nice retro feel as well. The staff here are attentive and we were seated within 10 minutes, as it was somewhat packed. The food arrived pretty quickly. My burger was cooked perfectly, however it fell apart with ease. The fries were bland but hot. While I think seasoning would definitely take this place to another level, I can see why they might not prefer it. Overall, I enjoyed myself and would return.

I'll start by saying this: I am not someone who typically writes reviews. In fact, I'm known among…read moremy friends and family as a very critical eater--some have even jokingly called me a food critic. So for me to take the time to write this says a lot. From the moment we walked into Oceanview Diner, we felt at home. There was an immediate warmth--like stepping into what America is supposed to feel like--people talking, laughing, and genuinely connecting over good food. The attention to detail was impossible to miss. Fresh-cut flowers sat on each table, adding a simple but thoughtful touch. Before our meals even arrived, we were served homemade herb focaccia with olive oil--an unexpected and appreciated gesture. And yes, even the water stood out. Being near the ocean, you often get that slightly earthy taste, but this water was clean, crisp, and clearly filtered. Now, the food. I ordered the Parmesan-crusted chicken with roasted potatoes and collard greens. The chicken was juicy (not dry at all) and cooked perfectly--something that sounds simple but is rarely executed this well. The collards were good, though I personally would've liked just a touch more salt and a splash of vinegar to bring them fully to life. My partner ordered the fried flounder with asparagus and mashed potatoes and had nothing but praise. Not a single morsel was left on the plate, which tells you everything you need to know. Oceanview Diner delivered not just a meal, but an experience rooted in care, pride, and hospitality. Thank you for an amazing visit--continued success to you, and a huge job well done to the kitchen staff.

Absolutely FANTASTIC!…read more Just wow, this place has the best brunch food in Norfolk. I am so impressed. The meatloaf panini is seriously life changing. I changed out provolone for pepper jack and, genuinely wow. The eggs benedict was fabulous. Our pancake also hit the spot. Our server Avery was so nice! Our food came out quick and delicious. Just something to keep in mind if you're visiting in the summer. The back patio does not have air conditioning. If you sit by the large front windows, be prepared for the sun. The building faces east, so by late morning the sun is shining directly through those windows. I was sitting with my back to it and was so hot. I probably could have asked them to lower the shade, but it's something to consider when choosing your table. Shana was our server, and she was great. Friendly, attentive, and checked on us regularly. Now for the best part. The sorbet mimosas. We ordered two, one with mango sorbet and one with lemon and raspberry sorbet, and they were incredible. If you come here, these are an absolute must order. We started with the fried green tomatoes. They were good, but they were clearly made from frozen slices rather than fresh-cut tomatoes. I ordered the salmon cakes with eggs and a pancake. Everything was delicious. No complaints at all. The food easily earns 5 stars. The decor has a classic old-school diner vibe with black and white checkered floors and chrome accents, which I really liked. My only real complaint was the bar seating. If you're on the shorter side, the stools are not very comfortable. The seats are not very deep, there is no foot rail to rest your feet on, and since the stools are bolted to the floor, you cannot scoot in to get comfortable. The backs of my legs started going numb, so we moved to a table as soon as one opened up. Ironically, it was the table directly in front of that hot window. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Great food, excellent service, and those sorbet mimosas alone are worth the visit. Just be strategic about where you sit if you're visiting on a warm, sunny day.

Let me tell you these were some of the best pancakes I've had in the 757 hands down fluffy, perfectly golden, and bursting with flavor in every bite. The Philly cheesesteak omelette is an absolute standout as well.
