We've ordered takeout from this little Syrian spot in Niles at least ten times now. And I don't say this lightly...there has never been an off day. Not once. The consistency alone is enough to keep us coming back, but the food itself? It's something special. Let me start with the hummus. I don't even know how to say this without sounding dramatic, but it's hands down the best hummus we've ever had. It's unbelievably smooth, rich, and somehow manages to go with everything. And yes...I'm going to say it...dip your fries in it. Trust me on that one. And order the large size hummus to take home with you. The rice deserves its own moment too. Perfectly cooked, just the right amount of richness. I'm not sure if it's butter or oil or some magic in between, but whatever they're doing, it works. It's the kind of rice you keep eating even when you're full. We usually go for the chicken over rice, which comes with peppers and onions, and it's always flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. This is not bland food. Everything has depth. We've also had the three-meat combo (lamb, chicken, and beef), and every single piece is tender and cooked just right. It all comes together with that incredible red sauce and the garlic sauce...which I always order extra because I refuse to run out halfway through the meal. Add in the pita for the hummus, and it's just one of those meals you look forward to the entire drive home. And speaking of the drive...we will happily go 35-40 minutes out of our way just to pick this up. That should tell you everything. On top of all that, it's a family-owned place, and you can feel it. Customer service is warm and thoughtful. You'll often see the husband and wife there, sometimes their kids, and I believe his mother is in the kitchen and honestly, it shows. There's something about the food that feels cared for, not just made. We've tried a few different things on the menu and everything has been great, but the dishes I mentioned are what keep calling us back. Highly, highly recommend!! read more

I walked in and sorry, but was not surprised to see a dirty place. The middle aged guy prob owner was sitting around in dirty flip-flops. I ordered out of embarrassment. Food was avg not fantastic and definitely not enough to bring me back for more, especially with the store conditions and some kids playing on the food counter. Went to Little Damascus with a friend of mine from work. He had never been there. Hard to believe but true. He got a wrap. Lamb and all the fixings. And he LOVED IT!!! I went off menu. WOW!, Did I say WOW!? If you have not been here, get here, often. Best food & if you must, middle eastern cuisine I've had. I've been in this area for 31 years & wish I knew about this sooner. We had the meat and the middle east platters & shared. I have not ever had better of anything that was on my table. Whatever you are considering for lunch or dinner, if it's not Little Damascus you are making a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE mistake. Run, don't walk to Little Damascus for you next meal, you can thank me later! Rated 22 on the top restaurants in the area, honestly, for the food, I'm not sure I would put any or many above Little Damascus. I think this might be my favorite restaurant in Trumbull County. This hidden gem is so good, so deliciously flavorful! The Hummus is unlike any hummus I've ever tasted, it's mind blowing! First off, this place is an absolute hole in the wall. The pictures of the food on Facebook appear to be stock photos or at the very least food from another restaurant. The types of tables shown in those photos are not in this restaurant. The prices on the menu do not match what is charged, and the descriptions of what comes with those items is misleading as well. Example: "doesn't come with fries anymore" and "that's the old price". So what would have been basically a $9 wrap or gyro with fries...now is a $10 sandwich with no fries or like instead of 4 kibbeh balls for $3 it's now 2 kibbeh balls for $5 Basically menu says one thing and you get something else...less food for more $$ While waiting, I observed the owner being very rude to a door dash driver, he demanded to see her phone to clarify the amount charged for the order. Insisting that the service charges a lesser amount and "steals his money". The food was not spectacular in any sense. Absolute hole in the wall with terrible seating and just a run down and overall gross/dirty feeling. The worst Syrian food I have ever tasted . The rod Kufta which is a delicious meat usually seasoned and has parsley and minced onion then grilled . It was served as a block I think taken from pressed GYRO it was so greasy after taking two bites I flushed the rest in the toilet . Yuks. Two tablespoons of tabouleh with the meal as well as about two tablespoons of the most tasteless hummus that came along with the $17 meal. Which is an appropriate price for a meal like this if edible. read more

Small family restaurant. Looks a bit careworn, but the service and food were both excellent. They could use a few more options for children (our kids aren't that adventurous), but most small family places don't typically cater to picky children and it's good for them to have to try new things. Fantastic, hole-in-the-wall Middle Eastern restaurant out in Nowheresville, Ohio. This town is not known for its great food options (unless you're looking to fork out for a fancy dinner). Which is why it was such a godsend to find such amazing ethnic food in this corner of town. The lamb was not just juicy, but succulent. The tabbouli was fresh and fragrant. But the star of the show, by far, was the kibbe! I'm actually not a huge fan of kibbe in general -- it always seems to be too dry and salty for me -- but this was different. Extremely well seasoned, full of juicy lamb, and deep fried for a nice crispy crunch on the outside. They have truly perfected it. The meal was cheap, and the family that runs the restaurant was so hospitable and friendly! This place deserves to thrive. Great little family run restaurant! We were in town for a gymnastics meet, and were looking for something other than a chain and w vegetarian options. At first it looked like a to-go shop, but they do have 4 tables so we were able to sit down and enjoy a wonderful falafel, gyro and chicken shawarma as well as hummus, tabouli and collard greens. All were good, but the falafel and collard greens were the best we've had. Definitely worth supporting this family restaurant- with grandma chopping lettuce in the kitchen. read more

Stopped in for something different. I am a big fan of middle eastern food. I stopped here to try the chicken Shawarma pita sandwich. The chicken is tender and seasoning is delicious with a garlic sauce that makes the sandwich just right. I tried a vegetable pizza pie that was very good the last time I went and I wasn't disappointed. I look forward to trying some other items on the menu every time I return. On an extended road trip from Chicago to Washington DC, we found Little Damascus in Niles, Ohio, halfway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. It was the best meal of our entire road trip. Don't hesitate to try Little Damascus if you're in the neighborhood, or even if you have to drive far to get there. It's worth it. Here's what we ate: Shanklish salad--good shanklish is hard to find outside the middle east, but this salad was spectacular, with authentic ingredients. Stuffed grape leaves were fresh and sweet, not canned and briny. My lamb schwarma platter was stupendous, sizzling hot and flavorful, with humus, tabouli and other accompaniments--it was enough for two meals. And my husband's mid-eastern chicken over rice was marinated, flavorful and moist, not to mention heaping. All the meats arrived with the traditional & creamy, Lebanese garlic sauce, toum. Homemade of course. Wow! Owner Michele and his wife were so friendly and welcoming, even though we arrived near closing. We thank them for such a great meal and will plan a driving route through Niles on our next road trip. read more

We ordered takeout and they also have a few tables inside and a couple umbrella tables outside. Went with gyro and falafil for this first time visit and it deems many future visits. The 15 minute wait was worth it knowing order was being made fresh. Sandwiches and home cut fries were very flavorful. The hard part will be trying to decide what to get on the second visit. Great family owned joint. If you need a Mediterranean fix. Little Damascus is a great place to go. Mostly a takeout place. but they do have A table inside where the cook will plate your food and serve it too you. Makes you feel inside their home! Love their Hummus and Babaganush. i always get the lamb over rice with EXTRA garlic sauce. I dont know what they put it the garlic sauce but its crack to me. I am middle eastern (Lebanese/Syrian) and when I tell you the food here is just as good as what I grew up eating & now make at home I mean it!! When I walk in the door I am immediately a kid again in my great aunts kitchen (which was my great grandparents home before). The aroma is just what I remember & the food NEVER disappoints!!
