We decided to check out Little Doodles after seeking alternative play spaces outside of our home for our child under one. We were very impressed with the size of the space and loved that there was an entire zone that met the needs of a smaller child but didn't inhibit his ability to crawl to other areas. I do believe we were lucky with a low number of kids in the play area which, despite a few little moments of going "" - overall the lack of dominating older children made it a good experience. I think if you are nervous of potential older (over 3) children interacting with a child that's maybe 9-12m then keep in mind that it may happen that they stumble over into the "infant" area to check out what's happening and try to look for less popular times. To be honest though, it really is a great place with great staff! Things We Loved: - there was a designated infant friendly play space - ample seating for adults - an actual snack/food area that served more than just goldfish and coffee - the "tasted toys" bin! We visited Little Doodles Play Cafe today for a birthday party and it pleasantly surprised me! We've been to other indoor play areas but this one was probably my favorite so far! The play cafe is more geared to ages from crawlers to maybe a max of 5-6yo. All of the toys and equipment were in great shape and gently used. The area for the kids are spacious with lots of activities for all sorts of active imaginations. They even have a messy playroom and discovery room too! There is a small concessions area that has light refreshments and drinks, including coffee, for an extra charge. Open Play Time is pretty frequent according to their calendar and cheap too! Private events are available as well. Definitely worth a visit for your next local day activity if you have a little one! read more

We arrived at 10:00, an hour after opening. This was our first time since it's been at this location. The place was already a wreck, yes-- I get it-- kids play here, but without regular cleanups, the play area is not as fun. The toys are strung out all over the place. The train table doesn't have enough tracks to finish. I just feel like it's a little overpriced without being organized at all. All of that being said, my little guy had a ball... hence the maybe recommendation. read more

Went here today with my two kids (2 year old & 11 month old). We went here for the first time because it's the week between Christmas and new years and daycare is closed. It was $18 for both of my kids no reservations needed and no time limit reasonable cost: It was out of control how busy it was and how apparent the place isn't maintained. We arrived at 9:30am 30 minutes after they opened. It was dirty. Nannies, mothers, fathers were there with kids from newborn to easily 8 years old. The majority of the guardians were not watching the children they brought instead they were drinking their coffee chatting with their friends. Kids were climbing the plastic playhouse (not meant to be climbed). There was one person working not really paying attention to kids playing she was too busy with a long line of people and coffee orders to make. It was so overcrowded and dirty (dirty toys and dirty floors) after a group of 3 or so girls maybe 6 or 7 years old screaming we packed up our stuff and left. Yes, is safe ish and controlled environment. It's hard how it's spaced out in different rooms. Difficult to navigate if you have more than one child with you. Also confused why they had a toddler car bed without mattress as a toy? The sensory room had bins that weren't organized and also not appealing toys to my kids at least. There are much butter options in the area than this. My two year old said he liked it but he also says he likes going to the doctor. We won't be back. We arrived around 10am on a Tuesday so it was not crowded. The place appeared cute, but after actually getting in the play area with my kids I started to notice there wasn't a lot to actually play with. There were lots of big set ups (houses, vet station, car bed, grocery,etc. ) but not much to do in those places. They were all either broken or missing the key toys you would need to play in those areas. It was very disappointing as it could have been very fun, if they just kept up with the toys. Also, we stayed for 2 hours and no one came through to clean/refresh so it was a mess. I know in other play places someone will constantly be re-setting so other kids can enjoy. The art area was a mess and no direction or assistance was given. Again not a lot of items to choose from, as everything had been picked through (from previous days I assume). The paper was even out. Needless to say, we won't be returning as it was definitely not worth the money. read more

I first need to make a comment about the negative reviews. They have an incentive for kids who pick up toys. If they put 5 back where they got them, they can go get a treasure out of the treasure chest. The sign is in a dumb location tho so no kids can see it, but... It's there. It's never been super messy when I go, but I have been there right when it opens, and have noticed some toys are on the floor like the associates didn't clean before closing. Laziness. I have also noticed the associate just hanging our behind the counter for hours non stop on her phone. She could be picking up toys, interacting with parents to promote events or even sanitzing toys. So if you are reading this lady... You can do better. Next about things to play with. My little girl who is 17 months can stay there for hours and not get bored. We have played with play dough, the dinosaurs, read books and went into the discovery room which is her favorite. 3 stars because my little girl loves it, but they clearly don't clean the toys. read more

Had an amazing experience here for our sons first birthday. It was reasonably priced, you get the entire place to yourself, and everyone I talked to was so nice and communicative. Jennifer was great and really helpful. And most importantly, all the kids had an absolute blast so that meant to parents got to sit back and chill. Toys are cute and in good shape. We love Little Doodles Play Cafe! It's the perfect place to for parents to come and relax with a coffee or snack for a bit while the kids socialize and play in a different setting than being at home. It's great for rainy days but we even go when it's nice out and I just need an hour to decompress without having to entertain. It's the perfect kid friendly space and the prices are phenomenal, totally worth a year long membership. I really appreciate that they've kept it affordable in Raleigh and I love to support small businesses. They also have a small retail area in the front that is all local small business items.
