The work that was done on her teeth was not done properly, and after bringing the issue to their attention, the office was unwilling to correct the problem. As a parent, you trust medical professionals to provide quality care and to stand behind their work if something goes wrong. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. Instead of taking responsibility and making the situation right, we were left to deal with the consequences of the poor dental work. These dental doctors have no bedside manners. They want to extract your teeth without offering any other alternatives. You question them to understand the procedure they are doing for you and you can feel the change of their authority. I don't highly recommend this dental to anyone. No empathy or compassion to clients. I walked out and got better service at Aspen dental in Manahawkin NJ. Extracting is a fast solution and easy money for this office but double procedure for you, because after extracting your tooth you will need to get a tooth replacement for your teeth not to shift. It's like hanging out in a bar. The staff are all so very loud. From the desk to the hygienists. Laughing and carrying on like it's supposed to be fun there. They wander in and out of the room while the dentist has a drill in your mouth. They startle you then and there. When I complained I was uncomfortable with staff walking in behind me or walking by the door giggling their asses off, they banned me from their practice. Sent me a certified letter instead of schooling their staff. Made me out to be the bad guy when they can't take the truth. The male dentist there is rude and pretended to forget that I told him I had a dental lab that was going to make teeth that I've trusted for years. He talked down to me in a demeaning manner, and said that they didn't do that there and I had to use their dental lab because of legality issues. I let them know I use an official dental lab and I even offered to give them the address so they can ship the impression there. I trust who I trust and don't want a botched dental job. I care about looking and feeling my best. I told him that I used my own lab before with this office and it wasn't a problem then (the same dental lab I wanted to use again) so I don't know why it's a problem now. Mind you, this was my follow up appointment where I was going to get to prep work done for my crown. I told him about me using my own dental lab at the initial appointment where they did the X-Rays and he didn't say anything then. Plus I even had to wait for my claim to go through with my insurance for me to even go back there and make an appointment to get the prep work done. This whole process is deemed not worth it to me and an absolute waist of my time and theirs. I don't trust them and I wouldn't trust him if I were you either. Immediately after I left his office, I made my appointment with another family dentist in town who is willing to work with me the way I want my teeth done and with the lab I trust. Confused by any horrible reviews about this place because my experience was beyond amazing. I have never like the dentist, and for the first time in my life, i didn't mind my last two appointments at all. Called at 3:11pm on Monday for tooth pain, was seen at 3:45. Staff was caring, extremely friendly, personable and even had a great sense of humor. Scheduled three days later for 2 teeth removal, upon arrival for my oral surgery Doctor noticed another wisdom tooth that needed to be removed, without hesitation added it to the list so I didn't have to go through this again. The entire surgery both Doctor and staff were extremely comforting and I was amazing how calm they made me feel! Do not go to this place. Dr. John Thurber refused to treat my son because he is mentally impaired. My son is super courteous and cooperative. He has never had anything happen to him like this before. Clearly this doctor has ethical issues and doesn't want any patients that require a little extra time. I will be reporting to the state board. was told I need root canal.Made appt. and showed up for the specialist. He informed me the tooth needed to be removed by another doctor.Seen doctor for 3 or 4 minutes out of 20 minutes in the chair.I needed one more x-ray which took two girls 4 times to get it right. Had to pay bill $140.00 for 20 minutes and no root canal to a extraction. Thats $7.00 per minute .Went back for the extraction another $164.00. I CANT even rate this place thats how horrible it was. I took my partner here to have three teeth pulled. The man taking the teeth out didn't numb her mouth enough and immediately attempted to pull her teeth out as she squealed in pain. With tears flowing down her eyes she begged him to stop and please numb her mouth some more. He proceeded to take the needle, stick it in her and gave it no time to activate. He then proceeded to rip all three teeth out after she begged for him not to. Once it was done he ripped his gloves off and walked out without a word as if we was too busy. The man was rude the second he walked in to the second he walked out. Was given no medication for pain and a few gauze with a bad amount of bleeding and pain. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. I saw Dr. Port for a severe toothache. My insurance denied the work he wanted to do, so I went back to see him to figure out an alternative solution. He set me up with the oral surgeon for the very next day, and since he knew how much agonizing pain I was in he did a block for me to help control the pain for the day to help get me through till my appointment with the oral surgeon. He is a so kind, and the rest of the office staff are so sweet and sympathetic. read more

Awful. I have never liked this place. Went back only because I am in pain. They had to reschedule my extraction due to snow (even though we have ZERO snow). Could only reschedule for a WEEK later with no recommendations for any other place to go to get this throbbing tooth out of my head. Zero compassion and snarky comments from the front desk. Definitely never going back, and I am scheduling someone else that actually gives a damn about their patients. Rude and condescending! Poor bedside manner. Have had several root canals and pulled teeth and have never experienced pain like I did with him. He jabbed the Novocain needle in my mouth and turned it in another direction from the same entry site. I usually require additional Novocain, which I told him, and he said, "a normal patient would be numb by now." He seemed to be annoyed that I didn't get numb as quick as he expected. I saw him at the Little Egg Dental location in Little Egg Harbor, where I have been a patient well over 10 years. I would give this practice negative stars if I could. First, when I walked in with my 2 children we sat and had to listen to 6 or 7 office staff members talk loudly about their evening, using vulgar language. They were down the hall and we heard every word. We were also ignored for 15 minutes. When we were finally brought back, I was told both of my children would need x-rays. They both just had x-rays and were scheduled for fillings. Dr. Patel began arguing with me about what my son was scheduled, told me I was wrong, and left us in the room to "look into" what the issue was. 15 minutes later we still had no answer. I walked out and I will not return. I'm sure some of the staff is professional and some of them are very nice, but Jennifer at the front desk is rude and Dr. Patel is condescending and rude as well. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this practice. read more

I wrote this review in reference to an awful experience I had with the old manager at Little Egg Dental. Since she has left the office I have had nothing but positive things to say about the office. It's a shame that one manager left such an impression, but everyone else in the office is super helpful and kind. Dr Li has been kind and understanding. I got my root canal in March. It was three separate appointments. When they first told me about the procedure, and how much it would cost, I hysterically cried cause i was in so much pain but couldnt afford it in any way shape or form. She told me to calm down because they are able to do it in three payments, and I could do a post dated check if need be. I paid 192.80 the first trip. 241.00 the second trip and 206.80 the third trip. First payment by debit card, second and third by post dated check. Fast forward to a week ago I get a bill in the mail from my dentist office stating that I have a past due balance that is over 90 days old. I havent been in the office since April! So I call the office, talk to a very rude woman named Katie. She informs me that the insurance company denied my claim for my crown. Now mind you, the crown is primarily what I paid for. The root canal itself was pretty much covered. I said i guess ill have to take it up with my insurance. She tells me to do what i want but i owe the office over 200 dollars and i need to make a payment before Im seen again. So i called my insurance company to figure out why they denied their portion of the crown. They said they would investigate it but on their end everything looked good. In the meantime my tooth that I had the root canal on has been bothering me so I called to make an appointment to have it looked at. They then told me about the past due amount again. I said I took it up with my insurance company because I already paid so much out of pocket the least they can do is pay the last amount. She said no its YOUR past due. You only paid 433.80. I said like Hell I did. This tooth cost me a fortune. I paid with a card and two checks. She then tells me she mailed all the paperwork over. I said cool Ill look when I get home. Well low and behold, they have record of me paying 192.80 by debit card, and 241 by check. They claim I owe 206.80. Hmm funny considering I HAVE THE BANK STATEMENT SHOWING THEY CASHED MY CHECK FOR 206.80. Meanwhile I look like a moron because I yelled at the insurance company. I call and tell someone else in the office that I have the statement showing that I had paid it. She said she would relay the information to Katie. Katie then calls me back and so rudely says she was able to credit my account for the past due. And confirms I have an appointment the following day. Fast forward to today. I went to the dentist and had an x Ray. I have an infection and need minor surgery to correct it. The dentist knows my financial situation and said he would talk with me and the oral surgeon on Tuesday. I go home. I then get another phone call from Katie where she informs me I will owe about 550 out of pocket for the procedure. I tell her that the dentist and I were going to discuss it Tuesday. She rudely tells me again that she's just informing me how much it will cost. I finally have enough and tell her how rude she is. I have had no issues with this office before the past week. Katie is apparently the office manager and is by far the most unprofessional woman I have ever met. She accused me of being dishonest about my balance on my account even when I told her I paid three separate times. Told me to call my insurance company for no reason. Never once apologized to me until I brought it up and then gave me some snarky response that was so insincere. Katie is going to make this office lose customers. I wish I was the only person that had this experience but I have reached out to several people who have been going here for years and they have all complained about Katie. She needs a serious attitude adjustment. It makes me sad that such a kind office is getting a bad reputation based on one woman who clearly has no people skills. It's not anyone else's fault if you're miserable. Don't take it out on customers. read more

Had to cancel 4 appointments due to their scheduling. Every appointment that they gave me, which I showed up 15 minutes early to wait another 45 minutes, where had to re-schedule to experience the same wait on the following visit. Horrible, horrible experience with this dentists' office. One star for how nice the office staff was during the call making the appointment and the check in for the appointment. My husband and I went here October 2015 for tooth pain that he was having. The first dentist he saw was not gentle, "tapping" the painful tooth quite hard to determine something, my husband couldn't figure out what. Once done with the exam, he recommended a root canal for my husband. He said he would like a second opinion and came back with the second doctor, who declared that not only does he have to have the painful tooth pulled, but the two teeth surrounding it should be pulled as well. When the dentist left the room for something, my husband called me into the room. He wanted my opinion since he had just received two conflicting opinions. The second doctor, Dr. Prager I believe his name was, came back into the room and repeated his recommendation for my husband to have the 3 teeth extracted. Not understanding the recommendation, I asked his reasoning, which he didn't like at all and became very condescending. My husband doesn't have teeth on the bottom on that side, which he said was his reasoning, no opposing grinding surface. My husband uses that side to chew every single day. I've seen the man eat steak with these teeth exactly the way they were, and when I mentioned this to the doctor, he told me that it was impossible for my husband to have done that with his teeth the way they were, and "it doesn't take a dentist to see that."(his exact words, minus the condescending tone). He put immense pressure on my husband who was in quite a bit of pain to extract all three teeth, even the two that had nothing wrong with them, and insulted me personally several times throughout the "persuasion" with implications that I was just too stupid to understand why he wanted to take the teeth out and lying when I said I saw my husband using the teeth the doctor wanted to remove. I don't know about you, but I don't take too kindly to being called a stupid liar to my face by a charlatan quack trying to make a buck at the expense of my husband's health, and I called out his actions to his staff, who seem too cowed by him or their need for a job to say anything about the way he was behaving both towards my husband and myself, never mind the incredibly rude way he was acting towards them, dressing them down publicly for the most minor of infractions. I don't know if it was just a bad day for him, but he was extremely verbally unpleasant, bordering on verbally abusive to his staff, depending on your definition of verbal abuse. My husband wanted my opinion and I told him I thought we should go somewhere else, but the final decision was up to him since he was the one in pain. I told him that he should do what he felt was right for his health. Upon hearing this, the doctor put more pressure in my husband to get the extractions done. My husband decided against it, and we went to the front desk to take care of the after appointment stuff. At this time, my husband decided to try to talk to the doctor and see if perhaps only the one tooth could be pulled that day. The doctor said to my husband that "his girlfriend, or whoever I was to him," was steering him in the wrong direction and he was making a big mistake, those teeth needed to come out. Ironically we got an emergency appointment with another doctor the next day, who told us that not only would he not touch the healthy teeth on either side of it, but the painful tooth could be saved with a root canal, which my husband has since had done with a post and crown completing the restoration. I would tell anyone who wants to keep their teeth to stay far, far away from this dentists' office. read more

Stay away, went in for simple cleaning, they tried to force me to get more expensive deep cleaning, I said no, then they said they would not clean my teeth, wasted my time,never was treated like this in 50 years of getting my teeth cleaned.
