The exhibit included artwork depicting soccer to Polo. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday 12 noon to 5 PM, it is free to visit and there is plenty of on street parking nearby. I was welcomed in by a very pleasant greeter who shared information about the gallery and was obviously passionate about it. I found it very interesting that all artwork on display is by Palm Beach County artists. The gallery is bright and well curated. There is a small gift shop. Restrooms were very clean and well stocked. When visiting downtown Lake Worth, I recommend a visit to the cultural council for Palm Beach. You can see all that the gallery has to offer in less than one hour.

The council was created in 1978 to promote and support art and culture in the county. In 2010 the Montgomery family donated the Streamline Moderne Building to the cultural council. There are informative staff, many galleries and a beautiful gift shop.

A library in front of a library?…read more Yes, in case you can't find enough books in the library. Or better yet, if you would rather not return your books or forget to and get fined for it, a little free library is perfect for you!! Little free libraries are small boxes of books set up in communities to promote reading and sharing. It's based on the take a book leave a book concept, but nobody is keeping tab, so feel free to clear out your bookshelves at home, or take a few books without leaving any (though I won't recommend clearing a LFL out...) This LFL is located in front of the big library. It's well maintained, and tend to have more children books than others. Lake Worth has plenty of LFL in the city and it's fun discovering them as I explore the city.

Foreverglades is an art exhibit on a steamboat in Howard Park across from the Kravis Center for the…read morePerforming Arts. The tiny pond at the north end of the park the boat is floating on was once the Stub Canal and Turning Basin. It was large enough for barges that carried passengers and produce from Belle Glade, a farming community south of Lake Okeechobee that was settled in 1925 and which provided food for the area. Later on the main crop became sugar and large corporations like Domino Sugar and Florida Crystals changed the land and stopped the flow of water to the Everglades. Boat service from Belle Glade started on May 17,1918 when 5,000 crates of vegetables were transferred to 10 railway freight cars. After a railroad line and highway opened in the 1920's, boat travel to fell out of favor and the 1928 Hurricane destroyed the boat docks. Now all that is left of the large waterway is what looks like a small retention pond with a fountain. Foreverglades is funded by the Knight Foundation, the Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs, and the West Palm Beach Arts & Entertainment District. Photographer Sofia Valiente lived in Belle Glade for five years and her pictures focus mainly on the African-Americans who live and work in Belle Glade. Many of them work on the farms and in the fields despite poverty and the region being hit by floods, drought, and hurricanes. She wanted to show how Belle Glade influenced the growth of this region of Florida. The pictures hang on the walls of a 41 foot replica of a 1920's steamboat that was built in Miami, hauled by truck to West Palm Beach, and placed into the lake by a crane. Sofia chose to show her work in a boat to highlight the link between Belle Glade and the town it helped to grow, West Palm Beach. This exhibit runs until February 2020 and is free. You can access the boat from a walking path that runs around the pond. Photographer Sofia Valiente staffs the exhibit so you can speak to her when you visit. Belle Glade is an area that has been ignored by the rest of the state but it was a place I wanted to know more about. This exhibit made me want to visit and explore it myself. I love the history this exhibit highlights and how it shines a light on an area and people that doesn't attract a lot of attention despite their agricultural contributions to the community.

I am especially not a fan of my precious grandson in Daycare. However when I walked into the sun light filled atrium with all the classroom open to the central walkway , I deforested a little. When I saw the toddler train giving all the buckled babies a ride ,I melted more. But when I saw the photos sent by his teachers, to let his Mommy see each aspect of her babies day - I become a convert! I have become a fan of daycare - THIS ONE !!

It has two floors. Many businesses and a church inside. On the second floor they had classes and offices. The place was well kept and very clean. It's a good size building. I did notice that some stores were empty. The place has a nice feel. It has its own parking lot nearby for convenience. I walked inside the Paramount Theater. It is something more for the older generation. As you first walk in, everywhere you turn you see stars from back in the day. The walls are covered with pictures, dolls, and artifacts of them. It is pretty impressive the large collection this theater holds. Each celebrity with a little description. My type of place. I really enjoyed what I saw and was glad I came.

This is a life story of a man who rose from poverty to hosting a charity that actually gives a man and a woman a fishing pole... you know ... you don't just feed them fish... you teach them how to catch the fish. I knew I wanted to know more and help however I could. Next time I bought a beautiful handmade handbag. Next time I bought a handmade Ukulele! We have become friends. Rudi, the owner, was in finances and is helping me. The store is not only beautiful and well run, it is as I said an oasis I highly recommend . You will not be disappointed. Everything is beautifully handcrafted and displayed with care. There is a gallery of Debbie's lovely paintings of flowers and South Africa from where they hail. Last but not least is a gallery of paintings of every president from George Washington to Jimmy Carter by one artist with an interesting story of how this unique collection was obtained. I feel I gained tons of experience understanding several Child care centers first with my son who is now 10, and now with my daughter who is currently 3, and HAFM is her 3rd school (previously attended La Petite, Margate, and most recently The Learning Center, Boynton Beach). They are all good schools, not intended to be a bad review of them at all but this is a well deserved review for... HOME AWAY FROM HOME. Respectfully this allows me to say that as parents we have to be equally as understanding towards our children's teachers as much as our children's teachers have to be with us, they only intend to help our children grow and they do it so well! We need to show love and compassion as these teachers love our children so much and have absolutely their best interest in mind at all times! I want to say THANK YOU HAFM, for your communication, dedication and lovely support since day 1, this family loves you and supports you so much! You are my favorite place to bring my daughter to each and everyday. I love that my daughter feels so comfortable with you and every single teacher!
