From the day we went on the school tour, we knew - hoped - we had found something really special. Do they really do all that for the kids? Do they really take tiny kids on field trips? Yes, yes they do. They go on field trips about once a month - ballet school, Costco, a pizzeria, art museums, a doors and windows store, etc... And a fire truck, police car, and ambulance have visited the school! But beyond the highlights, it is the daily routines that have really shaped my kid. I can see how my son's social emotional skills have grown. From how comfortable he is with standing up to speak on "Share Days" (gets to bring a toy, loves it), to how he relates to other kids at the playground, to how confidently he interacts with my adult friends, it's amazing to watch my small person grow in these ways. When my son's teachers tell us about him, I feel that they are describing the same kid we know (strengths, weaknesses, quirks), which assures me that they know him very well and also that my son feels he can be himself at school. All the staff seems to know my kid (and indeed all the kids) by name. On academics, my son has learned letters, numbers, etc. but I especially appreciate Windsor's approach of expanding the children's worlds through curiosity. When they go on "architectural tours" around the school building, my toddler doesn't understand geometry or engineering, but he might start to observe details and get that it's someone's job to design buildings. A lot of planting of seeds and building foundational skills (pardon the pun) for the years of learning ahead. The quality of education and care at Windsor have been outstanding. Can't wait for our second kid to enroll!

Disclaimer: this is from the in-person tour (conducted outside) that I received…read more As I recently moved back from the Bay, and had two children who needed childcare, we were touring and interviewing schools and nannies. Windsor was on our list for our three year old. Pre tour - I felt the email that was written to inform parents of the in-person tour was well written, informative, and organized. In-person tour was a bit lacking. I arrived a couple minutes early and I came inside, and the director sort of shooed me out before he even introduced himself or before I could say anything. It was a weird first interaction, and then once the tour he started to put on a weird friendly facade. I have to admit the first interaction with him put a sour taste in my mouth. I asked more logistical questions (i.e. do you have early v. full day options, does your Sunnyvale location accept 18 months - the youngest age they accept kids, if a kid doesn't nap that day, how is that conducted, if the kid refuses to eat the meal prepped how is that dealt with, etc.), she seemed more frustrated at not being able to conduct her tour to talk about her nice MV campus that she built. If the staff members seem annoyed at questions from adults regarding their daycare and services, how much patience are children regarded with? This is just a question that comes to mind post touring. From touring multiple places, I am suggesting to parents to look into home-based daycares. They have a personal touch, and a lot more to lose if they are not meeting the needs and wants of children and parents.

I happened upon this Little Free Library during one of my runs. I was so excited about it that I…read moregrabbed a book even though I still had a couple miles of running back to do. It was definitely worth it. This Little Free Library is located in a very safe, beautiful, and friendly neighborhood. It is easily accessible right next to the sidewalk. There's a cute little bag hook available to hang your bag when returning or grabbing a book or two. The book box is cute and kept full. I was so glad to happen upon this library because I think it is so important for people to have access to hard copy books. This is a great way to share your favorite books with others. Hopefully people will be able to experience the same emotions as you and appreciate the book as much as you do. I will definitely be back multiple times to check out what books are available as well as share some of my favorites.

Someone has donated a few awesome books to this Little Free Library. Yes! This community has taste…read more Steinbeck, Charlotte Bronte, and even an autobiography by Anna Kendrick! I appreciate the fluidity in titles at these community book boxes. You never know what you'll get. A mishmash potpourri of magical words bound in a thin cover. As if anything so flimsy as paper could contain the power of the ideas transposed on them. A community with these book boxes and a live of literature is the place I want to live in. Viva la bibliothèque! Viva le mot!

This location had mostly adult novels, but a definite thumbs up on the chicken soup book! We also loved the little side windows with green shutters! What a great surprise Los Altos LFL find!

Full of ivy and forest like, it was definitely a fun stop on one of our Little Free Library days! The honey in particular loved this location, as it held lots of Sci-Fi and fantasy books. I personally just loved walking along the street looking at the beautiful homes. Definitely a nice relaxing stop if you're in the area. Yay Little Free Library!

This library I believe is fairly new, and rather empty compared to the others I've seen. Though I will say many of their books were more cerebral than some of the other locales. This one, like a previous one in Santa Clara also had a little reminder note of how the LFL's work, but it was printed out from the website just so people were aware to trade when you have the chance. Yay Little Free Libraries!

Physical Location: 1512 Harbor Blvd…read moreBelmont, CA 94002 This Little Free Library was perhaps the minist LFL I've ever seen! A definite Lincoln Log cabin to be sure! There are a few drawbacks to this location. Because of the hill the home sits on, there isn't really a good place to park, it's also inconvenient in that it's pretty far onto this home's property and looks very similar to a mailbox. The box also has a few spider issues - so those who are a bit afraid be warned. This locale had almost entirely children's books, Boxcar Children, Pony Pals, etc and had some math flash cards in the back. It was a super cute design, but I'm just not sure how often people with kids would be driving up this road or how good at weathering the outdoors this box will be. All in all the lil'ist Little Free Library I've come across, but probably one that needed a bit more thought put into it.
