Andy our server was the only good thing about this place. he gave us exceptional service. exceptional. food is meh. we shared lasagna and the meatball and polenta and a side of broccoli. the broccoli was okay, but broccoli is hard to mess up. it wasn't seasoned enough so I asked for butter and salt and pepper. the lasagna was like it was from a jar sauce. not great. and did not taste freshly made. the meatballs were good. and the polenta was good. none of the food tasted freshly made. not sure if bread is provided with entrees but we didn't receive any. the table next to us had it. prices were reasonable for a night out. but this is our last visit here. food was served hot and very quickly. my husband said it must have been microwaved just before serving. again, Andy gave us great service. read more

I didn't like it. We sat so close to other tables we were pretty much all sitting together and hearing other conversations. Food wasn't good. My wedge salad wasn't tasty and didn't seem fresh. My clam pasta had a shrimpy flavor, not the clean flavor I prefer for a white wine clam pasta. Daughter's lasagna she said tasted like chicken broth. Little Italy is in Katy alongside the freeway in the end cap of a strip center with parking in front. My visit was on Sunday during lunch and there was a musician playing the saxophone to taped music and it was enjoyable listening to him. I ordered the Linguini Frutti de Mare entree for $20. Since bread is not complimentary we ordered the flatbread for $3 more. The bread was delivered about 5 minutes later and was not only delicious but quite plentiful. For $3, it was enough bread for 4 people. My entree arrived about 10-15 minutes later. In the bowl was shrimp, calamari, clams, scallops mixed in red sauce along with the linguini. I thought that the amount of seafood was generous and was a very good tasting dish with a slight spicy kick to it. I would order this meal again. It was also a good value. Our table service was very good too. Little Italy is an Italian restaurant that I would be happy to return to. read more

I came in for lunch. My sister was in the mood for Italian, so I chose Little Italy since it had so many high ratings on Yelp. They have a dinner menu and a 2-course lunch menu for $19. They didn't provide us with a lunch menu, nor did they say inform us about any lunch specials. Probably because they wanted us to order the more expensive items on the dinner menu. Luckily, I saw on their website that they do have a lunch menu I don't understand how people can say this place is a hidden gem when the four pastas I tried were not great. With the 2-course lunch, you can get a soup or salad and an entree. My sisters and I ordered an order of garlic bread, Caesar salad, and four different pastas. The Caesar salad was okay, but it could have used a bit more dressing. I also wished there was an option to add anchovies, but they do not have them. Lasagna alla Bolognese: Tasted like Chef Boyardee ravioli, I'm not joking. Expect this dish had less meat. Penne alla Vodka with Chicken: The chicken that came with the dish was so sad. They looked like precooked, frozen chicken breasts with premade grill marks. I didn't even want to try the chicken. The pasta was okay, the vodka sauce wasn't that spicy, nor did the taste of the sauce stick out Chicken Alfredo: Came with the same unappetizing chicken. The Alfredo was mainly butter, not much flavor Rigatoni alle Gorgonzola: This one was the worst in my opinion. Along with the chicken breast, this dish had a bit of a weird smell. When I bit a cherry tomato, it was soooooo sour, I had to spit it out. I did not like this one at all. Also, I didn't see one mushroom in the pasta, NOT ONE! The only "good" thing here was the Garlic bread. Even though it was a little on the greasy side, everyone enjoyed the garlic bread. I did not feel like I was in Italy at all. Discovered this spot thanks to the HRW website. A friend and I were looking for a dinner option after leaving the spa. The server told us everything is made with fresh ingredients to order. Each course was spaced out so you had time to converse and relax for a bit between them. We started with lobster risotto balls, they were perfectly crisp on the outside, warm, flavorful and slightly cheesy on the inside. For the entree I had the branzino and my friend had a seafood pasta. The branzino entree seemed small however I was satisfied and not stuffed. We were excited to try this restaurant and went with some friends. The food was good, but the portion size for the dishes were small. That was disappointing. I had the braised lamb, and it was delicious. Wish it had more lamb though. The lamb itself was tender, but there was very little piece of it. The pasta was fresh homemade pasta. The glasses for water were small. My hubby and I ordered club soda, which came in small glasses, and cost $5 each. Because the glasses were so small, we needed more, so essentially we paid $20 for water with bubbles. The size of the pizza was perfect. Our waiter was fantastic. The ambiance was great. read more

Talk about a great find in Katy off the frontage road......y'all this place may look small but their food is Packed with flavor. We enjoyed the whole experience. Yuriel was our server and he did a phenomenal job. He was very kind, helpful with suggestions and we never wanted for anything. We had an opportunity to chat with him and his co worker who runs the front dining and this place has only been open about 6 months. They are trying to get the word out about their location. Service was good and we were told to sit where we want, then they sat ppl right next to us, weird! There was some weird lady recording everything on her phone, we are just trying to enjoy our meal, she came over and asked to record our pasta in the cheese wheel, super annoyed at this point! My Tuesday post-work evening visit to Little Italy was a letdown. My first impression was the temperature--the AC was on full blast despite the cool weather, making the dining room uncomfortably cold. My nose actually started running at one point. The service was attentive, I was very pleased with my waiter. I appreciated that the bartender made me a perfect French 75 even though it wasn't on the menu. Perfectly aromatic, tart and crisp. Unfortunately, the food missed the mark. My Caesar salad was drowned in dressing. The Penne alla Vodka with chicken arrived steaming, but the dish felt careless. In the freezing cold room, the plate itself was so hot it arrived visibly steaming and too hot to touch. The chicken wasn't incorporated into the pasta, just thrown on top, and I discovered the underside of it was badly burnt--clearly, someone had just flipped it over, hoping I wouldn't notice. I discovered this when I took a bite and the bitter crispy tang of burnt chicken overrode any other flavors. The pasta sauce was also oddly sweet, I couldn't place the source. It wasn't pale enough it felt like there was too much cream. Between the freezing room and the mediocre, careless cooking, I don't see a reason to return. read more

The service is great! Friendly and they look to send the customer off with a smile. Our server was attentive and receptive. When he came to check in I didn't want to bring up that my food was cold but he could tell I wasn't happy. He insisted and made me feel confortable so I didn't tell him the food was cold. He insisted on having the kitchen redo the order and pointed out he'd leave the plate at the table so I would know it wasn't just going to be warmed up. The redo was up to temp, to me a pasta dish should be steaming hot even more so when there's a protein involved. Very happy with the service as it outdid other well known establishments. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. The pricing feels a little bit up there- $10 for some gelato or tiramisu feels exorbitant. The pasta was around 20 and felt like a small portion compared to what you'd get elsewhere. We kicked things off with the lobster and shrimp arancini, and let me tell you, these risotto balls stuffed with lobster, shrimp, and cheese were nothing short of delicious! For our entrees, we shared the roasted double cut pork chops and the pizza bolognese. First off, wow--everything was packed with amazing, sexy flavors! The pork chop was incredibly tender and juicy, bursting with tantalizing goodness. And the pizza? Elevated with that horseradish sauce! I was hesitant at first, but boo encouraged me to try it, and I'm so glad I did. A drizzle of that on my slice took it to the next level! Chef Diego personally came out to say hello and made the awesome food recommendations. He even brought out our dishes and poured our wine, while Noir was just a fantastic hostess. Hidden in plain view. Little Italy has an upscale menu, moderately priced. The octopus was char grilled perfectly on the outside and tender on the inside. It was covered with a tomato gravy and served with mashed potatoes. All of the components harmonized beautifully. The wedge salad was crisp and also delicious. The vinaigrette that complimented the salad was less oily than most I've experienced and it worked with the fried pancetta. The Spaghetti Cacio E Pepe was really a neat experience. Finished table side and rolling the pasta in a wheel of picorino. We added chicken that was thinly cut and perfectly cooked. Finally, the tiramisu is house made and served in a martini glass. Light and airy, made with just the right amount of sugar, not overly sweet. It would be a crime not mention the people that create this enjoyable experience. I had high hopes for this restaurant as a few people recommended it in our Katy Foodie Group. Overall the food is fantastic but the bill and the way we were treated by our waiter is the reason for the low rating. This place has room to improve and I do think it has the potential to be a solid 4/5 star restaurant. BOOKING Can only be done online, it was impossible to find a local phone number. The online booking form did not accomodate (go up to) the number I needed, and it re-directs you to contact the restaurant. I finally went to the webpage to submit an inquiry under the contact us form. This could be managed better; every restaurant should have a phone number to contact them. When I did hear back from the restaurant, Christina was friendly and was able to confirm my reservation for 18 people. I asked before I booked if we can have separate checks which is a pain in the ass, I know. But I co-host a book club and that was important to the members as some are on tight budgets and we try to be accomodating and sensitive to that. Christina checked and said it would be no problem to have separate checks. Remember that part for later. FOOD/SERVICE Incredible Food. 5 stars here. I ordered the escarole salad and the lobster arancini and both were phenomonal. They also have Chandon sparkling wine by the split which is great. Around the table, others enjoyed the gnocci, burrata, lamb, pizza and tiramisu desert. BILL I had asked when we sat down, "can we please have separate checks". I mentioned to our waiter Jose that Christina had confirmed this would not be a problem. He told me, "no we cannot do that. Christina says yes to everyone". What? So basically he confirmed that Christina said yes that would be okay but then said well, she shouldnt have said that. I asked "well can you at least do maybe 3 checks, 1 per table?" He said no. At this point, I figured we would just just sort it out. Well to my surprise when we got the bill, we had been charged $63 for just water for the table. WATER!! Not once was I told when we ordered that we would be charged for water and when I asked around the table others agreed they were not told there would be a charge. They also placed flatbread down on the table which we assumed was complimentary, that ended up being an additional $12 charge on the bill as well and of course a 20% gratituty. While I understand the gratituty part, I now had to factor in the extra charges for the water and bread which I think was just unaccetable. I felt they took advantage of our group setting. I had people in our group that ordered an $8 side and they had to pay upwards of $20 for just their bill portion because of these ridiculous charges. I believe this place is good, but they really need to work on their customer experience. We brought them them approx. $600 of business at 11am on a Saturday and they missed the mark. What could be an amazing spot for bookclubs was a disappointment. read more

A+ Fried oysters, truly delicious & that horseradish cream was AMAZING! B - Caesar salad, an A had it not been overdressed like a prudish aunt on the first cold snap in winter. In Alaska.
