The food tastes like it's coming straight from a gourmet chef's kitchen, with authentic, elevated Southern flavors that truly stand out. 100/10 experience across the board! The owner, Mr Antwon, has a gem on his hand. The restaurant is one month old and it's exactly what the Fulshear/Brookshire area needs. Soulfood at its finest as though you're in gram's kitchen. The service from Amber was stellar to match. Love the ambiance and decor....very spacious and comfortable with good ole school RNB jams playing. Now to the delicious food....umm ummm ummm just amazing! We tried the spinach dip, corn ribs (sooo good), oxtail, yams, and fried fish. When I say EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING, I truly mean it. Wow. This place is amazing. I hate to give the review, only because I would love to keep this place all to a few folks. This is the best kept secret in the Katy, Houston and surrounding area. First the place is very nice and the chairs at the table are the best. They are so comfortable, after your meal, you will not want to get up and leave. She was friendly, full of smiles and made sure my wife and I had a pleasant dinning experience. The food. Not this is on a whole different level. First you must try the devil eggs. That will let you know you're in for a treat when the main course arrives. The eggs had a sauce drizzled on the plate and with the salty bacon, the filling and sauce. It was a pleasant taste of sweet salty goodness. Neither over powering the other, it was a perfect blend. I had the lamb chops with a sweet spicy peach glaze. OMG they are amazing and the glaze was great. Another perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Neither one competing with the other. The chops had a nice grilled flavor and were so tender you could cut them with the butter knife. My wife had the shrimp and Grits. The grits were creamy with a nice flavor. If you mixed the cilantro, onion mix in the center with the grits it was a nice mixture of flavor, that made your taste buds think twice. The shrimp was grilled to perfection and the season on them was nice and flavorful. The wife and I shared the Southern Carolina Orange Philo cake. It was great with the ice cream. If you never had it, it is worth a try. We also met the Owner and the head chef. Both were super nice and very helpful. They had a genuineness about them, you will only find in local place. The fried chicken entree should be revised to read "fried chicken wings," as it is misleading if it is not at least a full piece of chicken for $27. However we enjoyed the philly cheese egg rolls and the chipotle aioli sauce it was served with. The ambiance of the restaurant can use some work as well, the music was playing when we walked in but then it was silent and very awkward. I agree with some of the other comments that the lighting is too bright considering there is a lot of light coming in from the large windows. Katy peeps... Katy peeps. I finally made it to this black owned spot in Brookshire and it was great. Its near Jordan Ranch. We arrived a little after 1 and the parking lot had too many empty spots. I didn't realize they opened at noon. We walked in and were greeted and immediately taken to our table. We did not make reservations. There were no grass walls and no blasting music. They had a nice calm vibe. Apparently today was the first day of their brunch menu, which was a little upsetting because I wanted to try their dinner menu that people rave about in reviews. But dinner is not served til 3. So we settled for brunch and glad we did. I ordered fish and cheesy grits and whoop it was good!!! That fish was perfect. We also had the pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes and all was good. The service was okay, they probably could turn it up a notch. But overall great experience and mainly due to the food. The cook is on point. By the time we were leaving, the parking spots start filling up. Now I have to make it back for dinner . We need to support this establishment. read more

I thought about this for a day and after doing some review of pictures of the various dishes there were some inconsistencies in product presentation. Ordered the Cajun pasta and I thinks bit pricey for the amount of protein you get. The crawfish corn bread was considerably dark, the peach cobbler didn't match the picture. The mashed potatoes that were delivered by mistake didn't taste good almost spoiled. The fried catfish was excellent! The owner came to the table and seemed not so interested in taking time to even do a meet and greet. He was delivering food to the table. The bar was sparsely supplied. I really wanted to write a positive review. I saw some of the food pictures that didn't match what we were served. Again I hope they really become a destination for the locals. Last Friday, our dinner party of 20 arrived at 5:00 PM and immediately noticed there were only tables set up for groups of four. After some time, the staff arranged several round tables in a long line so our group could sit together. Upon arrival, there was no hostess or bartender available to assist guests. A young man eventually took our orders and brought water to the table. Unfortunately, it took nearly an hour for the food to arrive, and the meals were brought out only three plates at a time. No bread, butter, or pretzels were served while we waited. We also had to inform one of the two waiters that customers were waiting at the entrance to be seated. Once our food arrived, it looked delicious, but most of it was served warm or at room temperature rather than hot. I ordered the Cheesy Fish and Grits, and my husband ordered the Fried Catfish with mac and cheese and spinach. He especially enjoyed the spinach, but everything else was cold. When it came time to pay, we initially paid our bill without reviewing the receipt. However, friends seated on both sides of us noticed errors on their receipts. Our waiter refunded our bill and printed what was supposed to be the correct receipt, which my husband paid. After we left, friends who remained at the restaurant called to let us know our bill was still incorrect. The restaurant refunded us again, and our friends paid our bill. We later reimbursed them through Zelle for the correct amount. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience. We remembered when the restaurant was being built and had looked forward to returning. The restaurant has a nice setup and plenty of potential, but it clearly needs additional staff, better training, and stronger management. read more

My friend had naked wings and a side of macaroni and cheese and loved it too...said the mac & cheese was awesome!! The decor is very nice, calm and relaxing, even the ladies room was nice. The pasta was cooked to perfection very tasty dish and the asparagus was grilled equally to perfection. The catfish was fried to a golden perfection, with the spices that are added to fish and batter this catfish was on point and one of the best I have ever tasted. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but I hadn't been in over five months. I decided to stop by, and unfortunately, it was the worst experience I've ever had there. The customer service was terrible. I waited over 20 minutes before anyone even came to my table, and when someone finally did, they only asked if I wanted water and still weren't ready to take my order. When my food finally arrived, it was extremely disappointing. It tasted like it had been reheated rather than prepared fresh. I even asked if there had been a change in cooks, and my server stated that the food had been sitting since the previous day. To make matters worse, I became sick shortly after leaving the restaurant and didn't start feeling better until four days later. I've never had an issue with their prices because the quality of the food and service always made it worthwhile. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be returning. read more
