So far, we have tried the Traditional Quesadilla (Quesillo/Oaxaca Cheese), Traditional Tacos (Carnitas/diced pork, Pastor/Roasted Pork with Sausage), and Platanos Fritos. All the food was good, especially the plantains. Admittedly, the most recent photo of the plantains, they were darker than the last time we got them, and I'll admit that the photo doesn't make it look appetizing, but it really was - it also includes a raspberry sauce, but they're sweet enough without it. Service is friendly, and there is a 2% surcharge if you pay by credit card. They don't have a takeout menu, and are located in a small plaza. 3.5/5. read more

Ordered pickup here to have at a nearby bar. This is probably the way to go, as there isn't that much room inside for a group to eat. Ordered the Mixed Meat Fajitas ($20) and the Guacamole + Chips ($10). The fajitas are a combination of shrimp, chicken, and steak - accompanied by tortillas, cheese, lettuce, guac, salsa, and sour cream. Meats are okay, not the freshest but seasoned well. Altogether the items go very well, and the tortillas are warm. Guacamole is citrus forward with thick cut chips to the side. Overall very filling and packed well in their respective containers. Items were ready on time without any fuss for pickup. Good spot for lunch or takeout. read more

Found this place by searching Mexican restaurants near me, saw some photos and decided to order for pick up. Ordered (3) tacos and nachos and thought the amount I paid was a bit pricey. (2) tilapia grilled tacos (you can ask for it to be fried), came with a super small side of rice and black beans. (1) Tacos al pastor All were delicious and flavorful. Long distance road trip and driving through jersey. Was actually planning on going to a different Mexican place but they ended up being too far off the highway, This is a small place next to a convenience store. Very friendly staff. I got their chicken fajita burrito and chips and salsa. I'll say this for them-I loved that the burrito was pressed and grilled and was huge and that their chips were freshly made. But everything else was just okay. The burrito had so much rice that all I tasted for most of it was rice. Otherwise, it didn't have much flavor at all. The salsa was basically a container of hot sauce. Nothing chopped up in it. No tomatoes cilantro jalapeños or nothing. Very weird and not impressive. I know it's well rated and maybe I went too boring but if you can't do salsa or a chicken burrito better than average, than why would I give you another chance? Also, why would they care consider i was just driving through and am not their customer base. I'll shut up now. read more

I was extremely disappointed with little jalapeño. I know that Carnitas tends to be fattier than some other meats, but my tacos were basically nothing but fat. I thought the tamales were dry and all the flavor came from the salsa on top of them. Maybe this was an off day but I am not sure that I would come back given that it's a bit pricey for what you get. I am not a stranger to jalapeños I ate both at the Oaklyn and the Gloucester city locations The menu is not as extensive but it has all your favorites. I am so glad I found this place. My goto choice of meat here is the al pastor. The spice from the marinade and the sweetness from the pineapple works so well together. Their corn tortilla, esp hot when dining in, is sooo good. It has a nice texture and holds its shape. The juice from the meet gets soaked into them so it gets better as time goes! Their hot sauce is amazing too. I would buy a bottle if they sell it. Pretty spicy so use appropriately! Will be regularly coming back! read more

Decided to try the new mexican restaurant in town. Turned out to be a great choice. They have everything you could ask for. I had the sizzling steak fajitas. They were perfect. My wife had the pork quesadillas and loved them. She was only able to eat half before being stuffed. For dessert, we tried the Traditional Churros. You get 2 churros, cut in half. In a bowl of ice cream and covered with whip cream. More than the 2 of us could eat. Service was a little slow and we had to wait awhile for our food. But the staff was extremely friendly and nice. They did just open and are still working out some bugs. I have a feeling if I return here in a couple weeks, I will probably give them 5 stars read more

By far the best Mexican place I have had! I am very picky and this place is my fav! I don't like many things, actually most food I get out I do not like! This place is in my top 10 list now! I have tried it twice now and both times were delicious! I did get the same thing both times! The Camerones in garlic sauce is the most delicious meal I have ever had! The sauce is garlicky and the shrimp are plum and juicy and cooked perfectly! I hate when u go to other places and they are over cooked! I also tried the flan that was Carmel deliciousness! I don't usually leave reviews but I think my experience at Little Jalapeño warrants one. Ordered two dinners for pickup. When we arrived we were told they were out of the dinners we ordered. They didn't offer to make something else. When I asked what could be made quickly they said it would take at least 20 minutes because they had other orders to fill. They didn't say they were sorry or offer any compensation. Needless to say we won't be returning. read more

Well,I went there 3 weeks ago.Never ,go there again.Ordered 2 chicken fajitas meals,got home,chicken fajitas were very dry,no rice or beans,and I paid 1 dollar extra for green salsa sauce,didn't get any and no tortillas in one meal.no sour cream also.Went right back.I asked to speak with owner.He said they do not have meals.I said,why do you charge for meals then?he said you came in yesterday?I said,15 minutes ago. Girls there are very nice.Owner is nasty.Will never go again.
