Stopped into La Cita for lunch on a long road trip along the East Coast and was blown away by this little gem! While it's a small spot, we were able to be seated right away during Friday lunch hour. We were given chips and beans with some salsa as a free app, and then we had the esquites, which were delicious! Full of lime and rich flavor without being too weighed down by mayo. We had grilled fish tacos for our main course, and they were good - I especially appreciated the cabbage slaw. If I ever found myself in Cherry Hill again, I'd definitely go back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a small quaint BYOB authentic Mexican restaurant in Cherry Hill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was able to a table for two for a walk in. It looked like they did a lot of take out orders/Uber Eats. I ordered sweet plantains and Elote as an appetizer. My lady ordered fish tacos, she specifically loved the shrimp version. I ordered Al pastor and I forgot the other name. Both equally good and tasty. Great prices, and great service. Parking isn't the best because it fills up. PS, their free chip and salsa is an added bonus. They pour a nice brown bean sauce over the freshly made chips.

We came here for my dads birthday dinner. Nice atmosphere inside. The wait staff was really nice as well and provided good service overall. It's a smaller restaurant but has charm. We got the margarita mix. It is a BYOB spot so you can bring your own tequila and get their mix. Chips and salsa are complimentary. Very good there. We started off with the sampler and it was pretty good. The empanadas were the best part. We also got the carnitas tacos. The tacos were pretty dry. The flavor was good but the meat was very tough. But disappointing there. We got the fajitas. I got steak and my dad got chicken. I thought the flavor was okay. Nothing to write home about in all honesty. A bit disappointing. I wanted to like it more. Could be worth another shot. I would just switch up the order.

Solid Birria tacos!! Overall accommodating service, albeit slow at times. Probably one of the more authentic Mexican eateries in NJ. No frills, homey feels. The tacos are great! The fajitas can be improved. Worth a visit if you're in the Cherry Hill area.

I've been wanting to check this place out for a little while. And I must say they didn't disappoint. What we had was really good. The service was great and you can tell they really put forth the effort.

I came here for lunch with my family. The waitress was quick to assist us and the other tables that were there. There was only one server so she had her hands full with dine-in, take-out and mobile orders. This place is ideal for small and large groups. The tables are pushed together to accommodate for larger groups. Make sure to call ahead to allow for her to set up for your large group however. Because the facility is small, it can be a bit loud at times. The food came out in about 15-20 minutes. The La Cita platter is best when you don't know what to get or can't decide on an appetizer for a large group. My family ordered tacos, enchiladas, a burrito, platter, and torta--a little bit of everything from the menu! The bill came out to around $160 for 5 people. Not bad for a shared appetizer, a meal and drink! The horchata here is the best in town! We all ordered one each!

My first visit to this highly recommended authentic Mexican eatery! The food is fresh and servers are courteous. Nachos w steak.

Service and ambiance was conducive for a low key dining experience. Staff were welcoming and the food was good.

Complete hole in the wall in the best way possible! Water served in repurposed tequila bottles, since it's BYOB. I am so glad we saw a previous review that mentioned they serve virgin margaritas and you can bring your own tequila. DO. IT. BYO tequila and order their virgin margaritas. Your life will be changed. So fresh and so tasty, and you can add how much or how little tequila you want. A dream come true! This was perfect for Father's Day dinner for my family, since our dad loves authentic Mexican food. If you want something legit, look no further. Everything we ordered was delicious. Even the churros were amazing! Service was mentioned in many reviews but we didn't really have an issue, nothing seemed to take too long. Hope to go back another time, maybe when I don't have to drive home!

Came in on a snowy evening in the mood for some authentic Mexican food. I had heard some good things about this place from some South Jersey locals, and I decided I'd give it a try. The space is pretty small, but still cozy and cutely decorated. We were greeted by a server who gave us some menus. After quite some time, she came over to take beverage orders and service out table. I would definitely say that La Cita isn't too focused on the quick or friendly customer service category. Once she had come over, we had given her both our food and beverage orders. Our Empanada appetizer came out about 10 minutes after we ordered it. I did really enjoy this appetizer, which had Chicken Tinga as the filling of the day. It was very crispy, flaky, and fresh-tasting. It also had a decent amount of flavor to it. I also tried a Horchata beverage, which I felt was very good and authentic-tasting. After about 25 minutes from our appetizer, the food had come out. I had ordered a mixed fajita entree containing shrimp, chicken, and steak. Like most restaurant fajitas, the platter came out hot and sizzling. The meat also sat on top of a bed of peppers and onions. It was also accompanied by some corn tortillas, rice and beans, and sour cream and cheese that I had asked for. I had also ordered a side of Sweet Plantains. They came out drizzled with fresh crema and cheese. As for the taste of my entree, I felt that the fajitas were very lacking in spice and flavor. The meat quality was mediocre, and some of my steak slices had chewy and fatty pieces that I had to pull off. The rice and beans were also somewhat flavorless. I did enjoy the sweet plantains, and found them above average compared to places that I have tried. Overall, I didn't find my experience to be anything above average. Service was OK, and food was also subpar compared to other Mexican spots that I've tried. I expected a bit better for a small-owned, authentic-looking Mexican spot.

The cheese was rubbery and not hot. There was barely any shrimp or flavor in this dish The Al pastor burrito was also a little sad. The rice was flavorless, the meat was chewy but the spices were decent. the fries were probably the best thing that I ate, they were crispy. The guac was very very smooth but I like mine chunky with tomatoes, herbs and peppers but that's my preference. I also love when a Mexican spot gives fresh salsa and pico as service which I did not get The mango Al Fresca tasted so weird. It was like watered down not so good mango juice. I love the one at el nopolito so I was very disappointed it didn't taste similar Overall I wasn't happy with the flavors and quality of the food. I went for the $12 nacho salad which came with a side of rice and beans. Fantastic. But my favorite part of the meal was actually the complimentary salsa and chips. HANDS DOWN AMONG THE BEST I'VE EVER EATEN. The salsa was killer, made from scratch, a nice tart tangy kick. The chips were hand made, nice and thick to hold the heft of the salsa and perfectly salted. Honestly, I could've slurped the salsa up on its own. I want to come back just for that!
