My son was badly injured at this facility and they did not seek urgent medical care. We've taken our story to the press to make sure parents in the local community were made aware. A simple Google search of this facility will show you the full story, covered by WCBS, NY Post, USA Today, Journal News/LoHud, News12, HLN, and several more. My sons accident uncovered a sad reality - this facility had been operating all year with over 30 violations against it. We had no idea. I've since become very familiar with how to view daycare violations on OCFS.com. As of January 4th, 7th and 8th of 2019, the state of New York logged even more violations against TLE Dobbs Ferry. They now total to 83 violations. In my quest to find new daycare for my son, it appears most daycare centers in our area don't have more than 5 violations over the span of several years, some which have been in operation for 20+ years. Compare that to 83 violations at this facility from November 2017-January 2019. They should be ashamed of themselves. I wish we had known about these violations sooner. We would have removed my son from the program immediately. Since we've spoken to the press, at least a dozen parents and former staff members have contacted my husband and I directly about their own negative experiences at this facility, ranging from injuries to their children requiring stitches and leaving scars; to a 4 year old child being called an "idiot" to her face by one of the head teachers; to another teacher telling the pre-K class about her brother in jail on a daily basis; to teachers being encouraged by management to manipulate the children's daily performance sheets to make it appear they are learning skills at a faster rate than they truly are. Ask yourself, would you want you child being watched by this facility? If you look up the violation history of this center at OCFS.com, you'll see they even failed to perform background checks on a number of the staff. I won't besmirch everyone at TLE Dobbs Ferry. My son had a few really great teachers who cared for him dearly in the 12 months he attended this facility. Unfortunately for my son, none of them were present when he was injured. Had even one of them been, I'd like to think his injury would have been handled better. Many of these teachers have since left TLE and gone on to better facilities. I can't encourage parents enough to do their homework. Please use the resources available by the state of New York and look up the violation history of any daycare facility you are considering for your child. You can also contact the Westchester Childcare Council for assistance. They will even perform a daycare search for you based on where you live, and will give you all the information you need on individual facilities.

Before enrolling, I paid the required deposit and was told that the owner would be on vacation for a week. I completely understood that. However, when the original start date came and went, I never received any communication letting me know that her flight had been delayed or providing an updated timeline. I had to reach out myself for answers. I understand that the handbook states deposits are non-refundable, and I respect that policy. My issue is not with the deposit policy--it's with the lack of communication. As a business owner entrusted with caring for children, it's important to keep parents informed, especially when changes affect their child's start date. Good communication builds trust, and unfortunately that was missing in my experience. I hope this feedback encourages better communication with future families.

As working parents, we were eager to find the best care for her during the day. (Due to Covid, finding in-home care was challenging, so we had to look for daycares.) After extensive research- we enrolled our daughter here and could not be more pleased that we did! The hours are amazing and flexible. The teachers are an absolute joy and it is obvious how much they love each child. We get pictures throughout the day, and they also let us know which skills they are focusing on during their daily activities. We have an app that allows us to communicate with the teachers. This is where we can request they focus on a specific developmental need (more tummy time, etc), and inform them of anything they should be aware of (like teething or a rough night sleeping). No matter what time of day we pick our daughter up, we always are thrilled with what we see when we peek through the door. It is also great seeing every teacher in the school greet our daughter by name even if she is not in their classroom specifically.

There's no stressing about traffic or double-parking at the start or end of the day. We took our daughter out after five months but only because of lots of family engagements that would've kept her out anyway. We wouldn't hesitate to go back in the future.

Both of my children have absolutely loved their time at CKS, and we are so grateful to be part of this special little school community. What I love most about CKS is the balance they strike between learning and simply letting kids be kids. They spend so much time outdoors, playing and exploring in the garden, while also building such a strong foundation academically. They learn their ABCs, numbers, and all the skills they need to be ready for kindergarten, but in a way that still feels fun and age-appropriate. When my son started kindergarten after graduating from CKS, the transition was truly smooth sailing. He was incredibly well prepared, both academically and socially, and I credit that to the foundation he received at CKS. It is also clear how genuinely loved and cared for the children are. CKS is family-run, and there is a warmth and personal touch that you feel from the moment you walk in. The teachers are exceptional...truly, every single teacher we have had has been wonderful, and they know and care about each child as an individual. And Ms. Ester, the owner, is an absolute gem. This was a few months into the school year, so I set out to find a school ASAP. I toured two others in the area, most of the schools I tried were already filled. Luckily I was able to get a hold of Ester who is the owner, and runs the school. I think upon hearing my situation, she took sympathy on my plight, and was able to get my son in. For that alone I will forever be indebted to her, but also for creating this incredible environment for every child that is lucky enough to attend school here. My son has thrived here, has made some great friends, and the parents are all great too. It is family run, and some of her kids work there, or have worked there. The staff is excellent too. They're all just so sweet and kind, the children and parents love them. They have chickens, two baby sheep, and a tractor to go for rides on. They're very big on outdoor play which I really LOVE - no matter what the conditions are (sans wind). They do sports in the morning to get the kids going, and they love it. The teachers make home cooked meals for breakfast and lunch every day (it is a nut free environment). Not having to think about what I am making my son for breakfast, snack, or lunch five days a week is a life saver. It also helps knowing its homemade and healthy. It is truly a remarkable place. They're also up to date on the times with everything they do there from the books, the toys, to activities and even their app for the school - Brightwheel. It gives you updates, pics, and videos of your child's day to day school life. You can message the school within the app and vice versa. This school is a magical place, and if you are ever able to send your child here, consider yourself hitting the preschool jackpot. My son literally asks me to go to school on some days when he is not there. It's that good!
