picked this spot while driving through the area after it popped up on my recommended places to eat. it's a very small but homey restaurant with such a warm and welcoming feel. i went on a weekend around dinnertime and had a really lovely meal. my family shared the tacos and fajitas, and we really enjoyed everything. the food had an authentic, hearty, homemade feel to it and tasted very fresh. the staff was also incredibly nice and accommodating. honestly, this is a really great option in the area, and i would definitely check it out again. i will say the food felt a bit more traditional, so it was less cheesy and had less cream than a tex-mex style meal, but they did have add-ons available if that's what you prefer. overall, i really enjoyed this meal and would totally recommend stopping by. read more

We always visit Lucharitos spots for dining but this location is cool because they had a complimentary mini arcade and pool table out back. Great for a group, especially with kids but also good for adults. The only downfall is you have to purchase food as takeout including drinks. Same prices but diff service but it's expected I guess. My friend is a Taco Tuesday regular here and has brought me twice -- and now I totally get why! The first time, I tried 3 different types of tacos and absolutely loved all of them. Each one was packed with flavor and tasted so fresh. This week was my second visit, and while all their tacos are delightful, I decided to switch it up and go for the birria nachos. Oh. My. Goodness. The burgers are really good and everything at Little Lucha is fairly priced (considering how out of control restaurant pricing has become) We do a lot of takeout from this place and the food travels well. Took a quick pit-stop at Lucharitos for lunch on one of the first warm sunny days in Long Island. I saw that they had outdoor seating and of course who would pass up a Margarita. The most notable impression from this place, besides the spicy Mango Margarita, was the hospitality. The service and friendliness from the staff was top notch. My wife and I are a fans of the Lucharitos locations! This spot is small, but has a cool atmosphere and delicious food. There have definitely been times we wanted to stop here, but the wait was just too long so we just decide to continue on. Finally, we got lucky on a Saturday night and had no wait at all (thank you winter off-season and NFL playoff game). Since we were some of the only people in there, service was fast, attentive and nice. We also ordered off a regular menu and didn't see any QR code. We'd definitely come back to eat here, but don't really find ourselves out that far east too often. This place is close to the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead, and is nearby if your visiting farms or vineyards on the North Fork! Just be wary of a wait time depending on the season. read more

Thrilled to discover they've opened a cute adorable branch in Aquebogue, where we happen to be staying off the Peconic Bay. Win win!! Yes, there was a 40 minute wait, but well worth it. Three words: coconut shrimp tacos. These are literally the best shrimp tacos I have ever had in my life. I've never had a coconut shrimp taco before their's, but I do love a good coconut shrimp. It has to be fried in a certain way and there has to be a sweet and spicy balance to the dish. This is it! Their drinks are pretty delicious, and I've had their guac and queso which are both point too. May be a little bit pricey to some people but definitely super delicious. When they get super busy you can wait a pretty long time for your food. You might want to call ahead and check out the wait time. This is definitely a great spot to come to after a trip to the aquarium which is what we did. Maybe seven minutes a little more east and north, but I don't think you'll be disappointed if you time it out and plan it right. Really I'm telling you, the coconut shrimp tacos are phenomenal. The only reason for the 3 stars is I felt it's like Chipolte. We both got a burrito and the only difference between Chipolte and this establishment is when they take the rice, beans, meat, etc, they mix the sour cream, cheese and gucamole all together. When you get a burrito at Chipolte, you take a bite and you get a big mouthful of sour cream, when it's mixed together like they did at Little Lucharitos, it makes a difference. You order at a window and they bring the food out to you. A young man wiped down every table after people were done eating. We did get one margharita, a watermelon and mint, it wasn't that good and didn't have any alcohol taste in my opinion. We tried to go to Lucharito's at another location but for whatever reason it was closed. When we were in Mattituck, on our way home, we were planning to go to Funcho's in Riverhead, but then we saw Little Lucharitos and decided to go there. I had the classic beef tacos because that's what I was going to order at Funcho's. Plus it was a lunch special... Three tacos for $10. It was a great deal and the tacos were bigger than Funcho's. I prefer the filling in Funcho's tacos over Lucharitos but they were still very yummy once I added some hot sauce. My husband got the chorizo and street corn quesadillas and he loved them. He also felt they were better with hot sauce. The service was great. We ate outdoors and our waitress brought a bowl of water for our pooch. All around it was a really fantastic experience and I would recommend. I would absolutely come back if I were in the neighborhood and now I see why everyone likes Luccharito's so much. read more

Restaurants on Main Street must get a ton of business when traffic slows to a crawl for the masses going out to the orchards or vineyards on the East End. This place is a really great taco spot located within a stone's throw of the breweries and vineyards. There's a large amount of outdoor seating that's covered so diner's that need to take a break will most definitely appreciate that. Food here is very good. Their chip trio included a zesty salsa and excellent queso dip. Lobster guacamole had large chunks of lobster and was worth the splurge. Tacos here are large and very tasty. Carne asada was tender and flavorful. Wife loved her duck taco. My only minus was that the al pastor taco really was just grilled pork - none of the ancho chile rub or pineapple that you come to expect. It still tasted good though. Been a while since we have been out East and had to stop at lucharitos. They changed to a QR CODE menu and ordering system however, their were still servers walking around helping as needed. We sat outside and were quickly brought water. My wife ordered the lavender lemonade, it looked cool however I can't say lavender is something I wanna drink again. We split a carne asada burrito, fried avocado taco which was a special and the lunch deal 3 tacos for $10, we got a carnitas, chicken and beef. I was actually not looking forward to the fried avocado taco but wow was I blown away with how good it was. The carne asada burrito was seasoned well and big. The tacos were stuffed and the beef and carnitas had a lot of flavor however the pulled chicken was a little on the bland side. Definitely recommend giving them a try next time you are out East, and hopefully soon they'll be in Mineola if you're in Nassau. read more

Went here a few times because the food was good and the atmosphere was nice. They also have outdoor seating, but now I will never go back again. Went there about a week ago with my friend because we wanted some good Mexican food and wanted to get out of Rverhead. Imagine my surprise when I saw a QR code on the table for ordering instead of being given a menu (which they had.) Explained to the waitress that I don't want to order this way and asked if this was something new. The waitress told me it was started about 2 months ago because they don't have enough staff to take orders. I may have understood that had there been a lot of people in the place but there was just my friend and I and one other table. There was a waiter and waitress. I was very surprised to see that two waitstaoff were unable to handle two tables. After a back and forth the waitress said she would give us paper menus and help my friend and I order through the QR. Boy, talk about totally missing the point. If I wanted to order through the QR I wouldn't have asked for a paper menu. I don't trust these QR codes and ordering through these QR codes. I don't really know what information is being gathered once you use this system. This is not for me and I feel now that things have improved getting rid of paper menus is not necessary. If you feel you do not have enough of a waitstaff to accommdate the amount of people that come to eat in your restaurant then hire more people. A restaurant should not expect us to do their job by ordering and possibly paying for what should be a service that is provided by the restaurant. Bottom line is: I told my friend I'm not eating here and got up from the table and left. I will never go back. There are many good Mexican restaurants that do not do this. read more

Veggie taco was ok. Rice and beans were a little odd tasting - had a similar taste to the uncle bens rice you get out of a pouch. Didn't taste fresh. But they were vegan so that's great. Stopped here on a whim on our way out east to visit family, and very glad we did! The shrimp burritos were delicious, but since we all ordered that I can't comment on the other menu items. They were filled with juicy shrimp, cheese (added extra), beans and rice and I loved the extra jalapeños/cabbage on the side. The outdoor seating area was ideal as we had a napping toddler in the car and I was able to sit right by her at a table. They were clearly hurting for staff as we heard that a few times while ordering. Staff were very pleasant despite having minimal help. I do wish I could have had a margarita but perhaps next time when we are in town! Highly recommend. read more
