Been here a couple of times, and the place deserves a review. It's a small but clean and bright family-run place where the service is prompt and solicitous. The food runs from the merely good to the slap-yo-madre. The tacos al pastor are merely good, but the guacamole is excellent, as are the chorizo tacos and the tacos dorados, and then the mole poblano--WHAP, "Hijo, porque me pegas así?" It's homemade liquid brown magic with just a tiny hint of clove that sets it apart from every other mole I've ever had, and I'm talking about dozens. Served with hot corn tortillas, pure paraíso. It's located in a strip-shopping mall, my GPS found it with no problems. Walking inside the restaurant, its not very fancy. The whiteboard is a little hard to decipher and the friendly woman behind the counter will provide a menu which is more english friendly. The menu is extensive, we're here for lunch so platters might be overkill. I want 3 tacos along with some Guac and chips. My wife orders three tacos as well. She asked if there are fish or shrimp tacos, the woman shakes her head no. I know what I want: Chorizo Taco Al Pastor Taco Beef Tongue Taco The chips come out and they're a little onion heavy. I am in the zone, wife? Not having it, she pushes the onions to the side and doesn't eat the Guac.. The tacos are brought to the table by the cutest little woman. I asked which plate has the chicken? She said something in Spanish and put them in front of us. I didn't have my glasses but I see the Chorizo Taco so I take that plate. My wife is in the zone, I am loving the Chorizo Taco! Packed with great tasting Chorizo, I'm a total fan at this point. My wife got the Tongue Taco by mistake so I'm told to knock off a star. Great to have authentic Mexican food in this area! I was craving tacos and good Mexican salsa flavors and this hit the spot! We were greeted in Spanish and I think they only speak very little English which was fine with us. I was just happy it would be authentic Mexican flavors. I got a beef and chicken taco and chips/guacamole. Bf got the enchiladas which came with rice and beans. The salsa seemed very fresh! Overall very happy with our meals and will be coming back! The stars are for service and a tinga tostada. A humble and friendly young woman greeted me as I came in, and was more than helpful with the descriptions of her menu items. The place looks like it's closed from the outside, dark, with dark walls, and a dingy floor. The kitchen was also dark. I didn't feel great as I was eating my meal. The carnitas didn't feel very fresh and they were very bland! Their sauces watery and bland also. It was a quick and affordable lunch, but I certainly wouldn't return here. read more

Friendly staff gladly accepted my $12 (though they said $11 first, which I guess they can do when they don't list prices in the dry erase board - cash only, too) for the caldo De Cameron (glad it was a comida del dia since it was literally my only option). Enjoyed some futbol on the TV with the other patrons (was the only gringo) before exiting to the lota side the building (you can barely notice this storefront from the road). More than 17 minutes elapsed as the food of other alter-arriving, seated regulars emerged. I arrived home to an absolute crime scene, with a burst takeout container from stifled heat from an item they didn't let cool. Given that the dish wasn't even worth the price I paid for it, and I'm not into laundering clothes just because I want to eat lunch, I certainly won't be back. After years of coming here, I am disappointed with the service today. I ordered tacos and they were fine but my friend ordered tacos al pastor and they had a weird smell almost rancid. We informed the girl working at the restaurant and she however insisted they were fine but we knew they were off because we have been coming for years and they have never smelled like that; you can tell when something is fresh and when something is almost going bad. We then decided not to eat the tacos because we didn't want to risk my friend getting sick which you would think would be something this place of business would find quite concerning. She didn't offer any solution she just kept insisting they were fine but why risk it. We had no problem paying for the food but I would've appreciated them offering a new order of fresh tacos. We thought they have to understand sometimes that happens and you have to own up to it so which is why we respectfully let her know about what was going on. I. The end we just paid for everything, we didn't want to argue so we just paid and left. I never really complain but in this occasion I felt it was right to inform about this situation. This restaurant is extremely authentic. The food was delicious. I'm a vegetarian and there aren't many options but I got rice, beans, lettuce, homemade and pressed to order hot corn tortillas, and a cheese tamale which were exceptional. My friends got enchiladas with salsa Verde and beef and pozole sopa. The staff was really friendly. One of us spoke Spanish which made it easier, but the staff spoke English and were very welcoming. Highly recommend this place. We got 16 tamales to go since we live in Westchester, NY and haven't found a place that is nearly as good near home! read more

No pretention here. A real working persons taqueria but super delicious. The tamales are the star here. The proprietors are friendly and inviting which overcomes the simplicity and barebones nature of the dining area. Come here for the adventure of eating which overcomes all the shortcomings of the decor. read more
