Was looking for Mexican to take to the beach and found Funcho's West Hampton outpost. Rice bowls weren't on the menu but the counter staff said could turn any burrito into a bowl. I asked for recommendations and opted for their name sake with steak. My bowl came with marinated flavorful bits of steak, yellow rice and black beans, salsa Fresca and shredded lettuce. It wasn't greasy which I appreciated. For $15, it's a good value and filling meal, a 4.25 and. 3.75 for taste. They had some small Corona cans and red stripe in a bottle. The music was fun and festive and the decor colorful Mexican with indoor and outdoor seating. Off the Main Street so you'd never know this hidden gem existed if you didn't look on Yelp.

    What I was charged.

Once fun and yummy. Totally disappointed. Totally terrible. And worse, totally over charged! Employee lied. Refused to give refund. Stay away.

The Tex mex burrito gets the job done. Nothing too special but it's pretty good! Quick easy lunch if you're in the area. The nachos were mediocre, wouldn't get those again.

Great spot for a taco ! Full menu and their specials are always good. It can be pricey for Mexican but isn't everything ?

As a busser at The Patio, Christian transcends the expectations of his role with a level of diligence, awareness, and professionalism that is nothing short of extraordinary. He does not merely clear tables -- he orchestrates the dining room with the precision of a seasoned conductor, ensuring every surface is immaculate, every transition seamless, and every guest experience elevated. Christian possesses an almost preternatural sense of timing. Tables are reset before one even realizes they need attention, and the flow of service is noticeably smoother whenever he is on the floor. His work ethic is relentless yet graceful, efficient yet thoughtful -- the kind that silently holds an entire operation together. What truly distinguishes Christian, however, is his presence. He approaches his responsibilities with humility, poise, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. He supports servers proactively, anticipates needs without being asked, and maintains a calm, professional demeanor even during the most demanding rushes. The dining room feels more polished, more organized, and more welcoming because of him. It is rare to encounter someone who treats their position not as a task, but as a craft. Christian Brown exemplifies what hospitality should look like at its highest level. Any restaurant would be fortunate to have him; The Patio is elevated simply by his presence. In short: Christian is not just one of the best bussers I have ever seen -- he is one of the finest hospitality professionals in the industry.

We sat on the porch looking out over the vineyard like we were in the Alexander Valley. Honestly, we have done the North Fork trail more but will now be a SOFO family as well. Helene and I both enjoy a good Chardonnay and "Wolffer's Pearl" is great, A chard with tremendous body and depth. We had the honor of being on a European Wine Cruise with the wine maker. Roman Roth [and his wife]. He had multiple wine dinners where we had an opportunity to try some of these new red and white wines and really took a liking to them. We joined their wine club as soon as we returned home so we'll have more to enjoy during the year. Let me be honest... I have been drinking and collecting Roman Roth wines for years now and have always enjoyed them. The team that took care of us was amazing. Nothing but smiles and service. We were very lucky to have the opportunity to experience this wonderful visit. The only downside is that the drive from mid-island to the Hamptons can get a little long. This was a small price to pay for the wonderful experience we had. KUDOs to the team at Wolffer Estate Vineyard

Why have I been walking past Alpina everytime I'm in Greenport?…read more Was it the dark atmosphere? Did I think I was getting just another American-German influenced restaurant with only brats and potato pancakes? Did I expect polka? The experience was actually slow and refined, without the white tablecloths. Alpina has German, Swiss, and slightly Northern Italian influenced cuisine, along with a selection of alcohols I was completely unfamiliar with... which made the experience feel full of new things. The most memorable food was actually one of the simplest. The chef prepared incredibly creamy, caramelized onions with a slight sauerkraut tang that was amazeballs. I told our waiter that I'd write him a love letter over it, and here I am! The pappardelle had shredded duck, cheese, and big, fun, chewy noodles that were satisfying to slurp. It just needed a dash of pepper to elevate it. The meat and cheese board included a few things I'd never tried before, and it was so good I was searching for a meat shop in Manhattan so we could buy them again. Portion sizes aren't huge for the price, but it was worth it to us. Don't be afraid of the dark entrance, the ligonberry on the menu, and ask the bartender about the connection between the giant copper gnome and penguin shaker gone rouge.
