We put a lot of thought into what environment we want our kids to be in and felt the importance of being a part of it as well. Our main concern was that we felt like the environment was nurturing and that it was play based. It was a hard first step to decide to put our son into a a school when he was 2.5, but from the moment we started CHPPNS it was the best decision ever. I found since the school takes place at such a familiar place for kids, at a park, the transition was so easy for him. The other part that was amazing is that we had just moved into the neighborhood and this was the most organic way to gain instant community with people that live close by. Through volunteering at the school we not only got the joy of watching our child in action at school learn and grow, but we had the privilege to get to know the other kids that our son was spending so much time with. We have gained friendships with other parents at this school that I feel will last a lifetime. This year our son will be continuing his second year at CHPPNS! We are so excited to have a second year with Teacher Karen. Miss Karen is a firm believer in play based education and she helps facilitate an environment where children learn to work through conflicts with each other. She's learned a lot of great skills and made her first friends. In her time at the school she has experienced cultural days, petting zoo, water play days, a magic show, holiday pageant and a lot of other cool activities. It's been great to get to know other local parents by attending birthdays and school activities. I love getting the pictures and video clips from her activities throughout the day. She started with Miss Brittani and Miss Ashley, was with Miss Alex and now is in Miss Danielle and Miss India's class. The Montessori approach has really worked well for my daughter. She is 2.5 and knows all her letters, is counting to 20, can spell and recognize her name and a couple other simple words.

Roxy Mendoza the Director is great. She keeps parents informed and update on activities and events. Her office is always open if parents or children have questions or concerns. I love all the arts and crafts the kids brought home and the kids enjoyed going on mini field trips. The class sizes are small so the kids really get to bond with the other children. We were also able to celebrated birthdays and holidays it was great. The campus feels safe and secure as it is a closed campus. It's also a nut-free campus for those children with nut allergies.
