Great little coffee spot with some cool landscaping projects! We (my wife and I) stopped for coffee but also to check out of the giant, light up ice cream cones in the yard meant they serve ice cream. They do! I meant to snap a pic of the menu. They had about ten flavors and they were all unique. No vanilla or chocolate. It was things like mango raspberry and coconut chocolate. Things like that. I drink a lot of black coffee. Mostly americanos. I am probably spoiled on Uncle Leroy's fresh roasted coffee beans, but something about the Americano here just didn't seem right. There was some weird aftertaste. Maybe a burnt flavor? Anyway, lots of specialty drinks and come little cafe style seating area included. I'm excited to try it again and sit down for a slow sip of coffee. read more

My mom and I popped into The Metro Cafe during an afternoon of running errands. It's in an odd location in a residential area of Wasilla and has some cool old delivery trucks out front. Inside is inviting with a fireplace and comfy seating. I ordered the lunch special which was a grilled sandwich and cup of soup for $9.25. The service was super friendly and the girl behind the counter gave me a sample of soup before I placed my order. She also carried my food to our table and brought us water. They have wireless Internet and large windows that let in a lot of natural light. It's nice to see more places like this opening in Wasilla. read more

I was really disappointed with this coffee shop, which is the only one we go too. An espresso shake is no longer considered as a coffee and we don't receive punch points for them. This is the only place we go to. My espresso shakes cost just as much as regular coffees. I get extra shots an flavoring and tip the girls very well, we love them!!! Otherwise the place is great, except for the new management that has bought them. I believe they need to think about their costumers!! read more

Great little spot for an afternoon coffee, lunch, or just to hang out. We stopped by for lunch and ordered the special (panini and cup of soup). They offer 3 sandwich choices (including a breakfast sandwich) and 3 soups each day along with all your favorite coffee drinks. The food was very good and so was the service! Staff is friendly and helpful. Very trendy & bright inside. Would be a great spot for a business lunch or coffee. Free wi-fi is an added bonus. Awesome place to have in the Valley, even if in a little odd location. Definitely worth going and we'll go again soon! read more

I just went here and it was absolutely fabulous and adorable! A very small building and so clean, cozy, and comfortable inside, but I mean you could meet up with 5 or so friends in the back and have plenty of space. I love their simple food menu item selection, I got the turkey pesto. It was made super quick despite how busy it was and it tasted fantastic. My decaf mocha was also terrific, she made great espresso shots which is always something I appreciate. I highly recommend this cute little gem. read more

This is a darling little coffee house and bistro. They make super yummy sandwiches. I'm extremely picky with my coffee and they're not my favorite, but they sure try hard to make exactly what you want, and the girls are nice and polite, which is why I continue to go back. I went through The Metro Cafe drive thru for the first time to spoil myself since I was working this weekend. I wanted a coffee and something for breakfast, but there's no menu outside so I wasn't even sure they had food to serve in the AM. Ordered my coffee and peeked inside, saw a plate of muffins, but the barista was talking to a guy in the cafe the whole time so service was slow and she came back to the window with my coffee and receipt. I guess I didn't need that muffin anyway, but I don't like that feeling of going somewhere and feeling I'm an interrupting something. That might have been a miss day, but I can think of 2 other places in the Valley that I enjoy going to so I'll stick with those places. read more

This place was such a great find! It's so comfortable and adorable. The decor is very cozy but simple and clean which is the perfect combo. The coffee was great! The breakfast sandwich was a little too simple for the price but Alaska is not one for cheap eats we've discovered. The young woman who made our drinks made you feel like a local. I've never had their food. I grabbed an americano and bagel before my church service (directly across the street). My bagel was horrid! It tasted raw and was hard as a rock. How does that happen? Raw and overcooked at the same time? I ordered an americano with hazelnut and cream. It was ok. But nothing fabulous. I live in walking distance so I am sure on a cold snowy day they'd be perfect to grab a coffee! The owner is awesome though, I love her. I need to try the food sometime. Such a cozy spot! I've been here quite a few times, and always enjoy their coffee and food. They don't have a large selection for food but it's decent. I personally love their soup and paninis (served with a pickle spear!) but I've met with friends here who don't like the paninis. Not sure why, they have both roast beef and turkey and both are good! It's usually quiet and not too busy except during typical rush hours (usually noon time). read more

We stopped by here as tourists on a road trip down South, and this cafe is well worth getting off the highway for. They had a very limited menu but everything was fresh, well cooked, with excellent service. The owner is a very lovely woman who truly cares about her customers. It has a small local feel, which is very welcome after doing so many touristy things the past few days. I would highly recommend this cafe. read more

We came for the free WiFi and stayed for the experience! This is the brightest, cleanest, freshest little cafe in Wasilla. Starting with the wll groomed landscaping, what a bright clean look, and the restored Metro van and car outside are GREAT. There are tables just outside the door for summertime sipping. Inside and out, the art deco design looks great and feels clean and bright. The staff are super friendly and quick, they even called us over to the counter so we could see the customers at the drive thru window on horseback! There's something you don't see every day. The food and coffee were great. The owner made me feel like close family, fun to be around. My son and I had a very nice time and will definately stop by again when we are in the area.
