I was so sure I wrote a review for Sophia's last summer. I had a delightful experience for brunch…read more I distinctly remembering wanting to write a review because there were so many surprises. Surprise #1 - This place has an incredible inside area. There are small alcoves for quiet conversations and a large area that could accommodate larger groups or families. Surprise #2 - The artwork is fun! The ocean lover in me loves the wave across an entire wall. Surprise #3 - The food is tasty and fresh. Okay, maybe this shouldn't be a "surprise." I guess I just wasn't expecting such a delightful and diverse menu. Generally my thought is that we don't have any Greek food in the valley and that is false. Surprise #5 - Take out is fast and meticulous. I wasn't expecting anything but a breakfast sandwich (I don't think the menu mentioned anything else). But upon arrival at work I opened my box to find half of the juiciest orange I have eaten in recent memory. Surprise #5 - At this point, great service and an attention to detail and flavor shouldn't be a surprise. This unassuming cafe is worth a stop. Put it on your list to try!

I feel I did not get $70 worth of food in 2 small sandwiches with potato chips and a single portion salad. Since they have moved and prices were raised, the product is not worth the value.

This review is written from the perspective of someone who has worked in a successful cat cafe,…read moresimilar if not the exact same type of experience to cafe guests, lounge visitors, and potential adopters. The cafe side was wonderful, extremely yummy coffee with great service. The cat lounge, now of course getting to spend time with some lovely kitties while relaxing music plays is a 5-star experience, however, there are a few areas where they could do better to enhance the experience for guests as well as the kitties. 1) There were A LOT of people (12) for our time slot in comparison to kitties in the room and seating capacity. That's not only overwhelming for the kitties but also the guests. 2) Kiddos of all ages are allowed, which is great for the kids, but at the same time, the safety and wellbeing of the cats should have been kept in mind making this decision. Having a minimum age seems to be more reasonable than allowing all ages and expecting parents to adequately monitor their children at all times. 3) There was a single "cat concierge" in the room with the group of 12 for our timeslot, this group was more or less 50% kiddos. The "cat concierge" seemed to be expected to monitor the kitties, monitor guests and remind us of rules (more so kiddos), take phone calls, and mess with their phone all at the same time. One thing that ended up bothering me was when I asked if the cats were adoptable and how many adoptions they had helped facilitate since opening and the gal was hesitant to answer the question, as to spare the feelings of the kids in the room, and acted like the questions were a burden? 4) The room was COLD, kitties are happiest and safest in temps of 68°F to 77°F and even warmer for kittens, which there were many of. 5) It seems the partner adoption services and the cafe could do a better job at prequalifying their kitties to be placed at the cafe. There was one cat who was not happy to be around other cats. I'm sure most cat people understand that an upset kitty is not just a liability for harm to other kitties but also to humans who may unknowingly end up in between the beef. Overall, decent experience, but don't think we will be back unless there are changes to their operations or until we are specifically looking to adopt another kitty.

"The Only Café Where the Staff Might Sit on Your Lap"…read more I walked into the Alaska Cat Café expecting coffee. I was not expecting to be immediately judged by 12 fluffy supervisors who clearly believed I was unqualified to enter their establishment. One tuxedo cat stared at me like I owed him rent. Another tried to steal my Americano. 10/10 atmosphere. The coffee? I tried to leave twice, but a giant floof blocked the door like a furry troll demanding payment in head scratches. I now live here. Would I come back? Yes. Would I bring friends? Also yes, but only the ones who understand they are not the main characters--the cats are. Final verdict: Coffee: 10/10 Feel: Cozy chaos Staff: Very sweet Chance of leaving with cat hair on your soul: Guaranteed

This is primarily a drive-thru spot, but they've gone the extra mile by setting up a charming little picnic area right at the edge of the woods by the lot. It was a far more relaxing way to enjoy breakfast than sitting in the car. It's a small touch that makes a big difference. We tried the California Dreamin' bagel sandwich and the Zorro bagel, along with an iced latte and an iced caramel macchiato. The California Dreamin' was hearty and satisfying, stacked with a generous slice of turkey and flavors that really worked together. It's the kind of breakfast sandwich that doesn't leave you hunting for more. Just solid, filling, and flavorful. Both iced coffees were excellent. Just what you want to kick off a weekend morning. This place may be easy to miss if you're driving by, but it's worth pulling over for. Friendly service, good food, great coffee, and a little hidden nook to enjoy it all? It is a good place to fuel up for the day ahead.
