The overflowed Plain Cheese Quesadilla -- which made it odd to eat.
    Jenny C.

I am a huge supporter of independent and family own business but Little Minor Taco was a tad disappointing. The local really threw me off -- a hidden pop up kitchen up a non-marked street. We food the place thanks to their strategically placed menu (outside the shop). We rang the door bell and had to internally giggled as the door slowly creeped opened. The lady seems surprised and when we asked for salsa. She shared it must be placed via the Uber apps before she'll toss into the bag. The plain cheese quesadillas were simple and great. However, the "birria taco" style burritos were pricey and disappointing. For the price, we had hope a scoop of guacamole was added to enhance the dish. It would've been nice if an outdoor table been available. We had to trek bother half block to find a public bench.

I ordered from here while at Wunder Garden and it took them an entire hour to deliver my food. I had to call 2 times to check on it and the first time they said it would be there in 3 minutes and when it never showed up I called 10 minutes later and they said it would be there in 5 minutes. When the food finally did arrive it was genuinely a fourth of the size of the photo online (photos attached). Overall, I am super upset with the experience and would not recommend ordering from here to anyone.

The munch wrap is delicious. Love this place. Didn't feel like figuring out dinner tonight and my toddler enjoyed the food too.

Little Miner Taco is one of the two restaurants that is advertised at Wunder Garten, and we decided to go with this option because we knew that we were going to be at the Wunder Garten for a couple of hours. Since we needed something to soak up the beers (and gin), we decided to go big by ordering a large nacho box birria de res ($20) and the carne asada loaded fries ($20). I was quite impressed by how fast the food arrived to the Wunder Graden. I think the food arrived within 15-20 minutes of ordering online. Also, I thought both dishes (well maybe platters) were quite the deal in terms of portion size and quality. If memory serves me correctly the large nacho box arrived in an 8 x 13 tray, which I thought was a great deal for the price...especially in Washington DC. Since this particular event at the Wunder Garten is an annual event (at least for now), I have a feeling that I'll experience food from Little Miner Taco at least, but hopefully more than, once a year.

Unfortunately, the new lady working here has awful customer service. I always refer people to this restaurant. I have been coming for years. We have been ordering through Uber eats as well. Our orders are typically $60+ on Uber eats. 1. Our food said it would be ready by 6pm. It wasn't ready until 6:30. 2. We walked a total of 4 times to the place. 3. I paid for queso dip and it was not in the bag so I had to walk back to ask for it. The woman claimed my friend took it, but we looked it both bags and it was not there. 4. I asked for chips. She said "no you didn't pay for it." I said "for the inconvenience of waiting an extra 30 minutes plus walking 4 times back and forth, are you able to give a loyal customer chips?" She said "no." 5. Then, I was about to pay for chips, but I did not want to because her attitude was awful. Plus she acted like she didn't speak English. I spoke complete Spanish for her and then she cursed at me in ENGLISH!!! Wow! 6. Oh and no utensils. 7. The queso dip she handed me was cold and curdled. The way she was acting towards my children and I...I don't trust it. 8. The woman said "you got free kids meals what the f***" why would you even say that to a customer. I have been a customer for years. I am flabbergasted at the disgusting behavior of the woman working there. How dare her curse at me. I used Spanish because she said she doesn't speak English, but I speak BOTH. The ambiance is basura! Dirty and rat traps literally right outside the door. Disgusting. I'm not being nice anymore because of that trifling woman's attitude.

I'm gonna start off with the fact that I am not from here, I am from Texas. The birria tacos were very disappointing i was expecting them to be how they usually are FULLL of meat(the pictures in doordash have a good amount), cilantro and a nice corn tortilla thats at least not stale and thin. Husband and I paid the 80$ for 6 tacos combined to get a taste from home and we got failed yet again. There was no salsa nor cilantro provided (i had to use my own)with the 100$ order. The dip for the tacos was barely even halfway full and its tasteless.... This food was made for a white tourists palate... don't even bother if you are used to actual mexican food.

Party FIESTA BOX - for 2**
    Danny M.

Hey there, lil' miner! The party box for 2 at $51 (really $60+ with tax and tip) is arguably the worst deal in DC but for some reason I can't get enough of this gut box. I just want to know the economics of that box but I also think I'd get angry. They certainly have minimal overhead considering it's located in a dark alley where you're really trapped in a bad situation if danger appears because you can only get out the same way you come in. The thrill makes it taste better. On to the food - Loaded fries - yes. Super tasty. Slightly potato-y on the fries but really no complaints. 9/10 American burrito - come on. The rice is always undercooked but I see other people say that so I just assume it's on purpose. It's messy, falls apart and sits like a log in your stomach. 10/10 Tacos - chicken Tinga is OK. Birria is good, albeit salty. 7/10 It also comes with two drinks! A bag of chips and some salsa would be a nice addition. As others have said, you knock on the door and wait. If they don't answer the door, you call the number which they definitely won't answer. Honestly, just wait outside because you're in their world now. I'll be back soon to risk my life for this 7,000 calorie box.

I have yet to be disappointed by this little Miner location - whether I am picking up to take home or eating next door at neighborhood bar Nice and Easy (margarita). Nachos with chicken made the whole table happy, especially the fresh toppings and spicy jalapeños.

    FIESTA BOX - for 2**

Despite seeing the negative reviews on Yelp and positive reviews on Uber Eats, I wanted to give this Mexican restaurant in North East, DC a try. I found out that this is not a restaurant actually, it's basically a catering business that you order and they bring it out to you from their kitchen building. I literally waited no more than a minute. I parked my SUV on the street and gave them a call upon arrival. I opened my passenger window and the friendly staff member named Rudolpho assisted me with a smiling face. Thanks Rudolpho! I ordered the fiesta box for two as well as two bottles of mineral waters. Everything totaled up to $49 for the food + $4 sales taxes, but because I was awarded for $5 welcome discount, I ended up paying $48. The Birria tacos were excellent. The consume was a little salty but not overwhelming which I enjoyed. The burrito was super cheesy and the grilled chicken inside it was so delicious and seasoned well. The loaded fries had various sauces on them and since I personally love food that has a combination of sauces this was perfect. Inside the bag were plenty of napkins and utensils if you don't want to get your hands dirty, though I didn't use them since I went all in.

I went to Little Miner Taco for yelp's Be My Elite event and got BOGO queso. I thought the queso was ok- I thought it could have been a little more flavorful but the chicken munch wrap was delicious! Not super crunchy but all of the flavors were very good.

There is barely a store front. You have to order on the app (toasttab). There is no place to customize your order. The app has lots of issues, for example my giftcard would not apply credits. I ordered the new build your own bowl bowl and it was very very sad and over priced. Do not recommend

I could place an order either at the kiosk or at the register with the lady, and I just went with whichever came first. Easy! And then I waited for my order... they don't have buzzers, and when it's loud, it's impossible to hear your order number unless you're standing around. Given what I was doing, I couldn't do that, and I was just hoping to hear it from where I was sitting at the time. But I didn't lol -- I just happened to walk up and it was ready after I checked in on it. Buzzers, some screen or something would be helpful. Anyways, the tacos were delicious and it's nice to see they're still around and doing well. I owe the College Park location a visit since they were forced to relocate.

El Presidente is a festive, neo-retro Mexican eatery anchored inside DC's Union Market District, built around the theater of going out. And the theater is real -- the interiors are dramatic, intentional, and genuinely photogenic. We arrived with a reservation, were checked in with minimal wait, and were seated smoothly. The front-of-house experience was efficient and the waiter was personable throughout. I was craving a frozen piña colada and asked the waiter specifically about coconut flavor before ordering. He recommended the Piña Piña, which arrived in a festive shark cup -- a fun, unexpected touch that set an optimistic tone. Unfortunately the drink itself didn't follow through. Rum was the dominant note by a wide margin, with pineapple running a distant second. Coconut was essentially absent. When the waiter returned and I mentioned the disappointment, he offered to swap it out -- a gracious move that I appreciated even though I declined. The spirit was right; the execution from the bar wasn't. We ordered the classic guacamole, the tuna ceviche, and the cucarachas as starters. The classic guac was the clear standout -- well-seasoned, balanced, and exactly what a guacamole should be. The ceviche featured an interesting white coconut sauce that was visually striking and genuinely curious in flavor, though it didn't fully cohere for our table. The tacos were our main event across the three of us, and while they were fine, nothing about them demanded a return visit. For a restaurant billing itself on heirloom ingredients and regional Mexican technique, the tacos felt underwhelming against the ambition of the concept. The noise level was the other significant issue. The room was loud to the point where conversation with friends sitting directly next to me required real effort. That level of ambient noise at dinner crosses from energetic into fatiguing -- and for a restaurant leaning heavily into the experience side of dining, the acoustic experience actively works against it. El Presidente markets itself around the theater of going out, and that framing is honest -- the decor investment is visible everywhere. But a beautiful room only carries so much weight when the food doesn't match the price point or the ambition behind it. The guacamole and the waiter's attentiveness are genuine positives. The cocktail execution and the overall food quality need to close the gap with the aesthetic before this becomes a restaurant worth returning to.
