Manna made my wife's birthday dinner a memorable evening from start to finish…read more A special thank you to Wm, who helped coordinate everything leading up to the dinner. We had hoped to surprise my wife, but she figured it out the night before. Wm was just as disappointed as I was, but stayed in touch throughout the planning process and made sure everything still went smoothly. The attention to detail and professionalism were greatly appreciated. Our server, Jeffrey, was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and never intrusive. He kept everything moving at the perfect pace and made our entire table feel well taken care of. Our group ordered several different dishes, including the Arthur Ave. beef rib sugo with cavatelli, the Cacio Me If You Can house-made spaghetti with mushrooms, cheese, pepper, and pine nuts, and the Rural Swine featuring North Carolina pork. Every single plate was excellent. There wasn't a bad meal on the table. The wine selections paired beautifully with dinner, and the complimentary olive oil birthday cake was a thoughtful touch that ended the evening perfectly. The restaurant itself deserves recognition as well. The atmosphere is elegant without feeling pretentious. I especially appreciated the warm, darker interior with exposed brick, comfortable seating, and a welcoming feel. It has character and feels inviting rather than the typical bright white subway-tile bistro that so many restaurants seem to imitate today. The dining room was comfortable, the bar was beautiful, and even the restrooms were spotless and well maintained. Seeing the AAA Four Diamond awards displayed made perfect sense after experiencing the restaurant firsthand. Most importantly, we spent a wonderful evening celebrating my wife's birthday with good friends, and Manna provided the perfect setting for those memories. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

So glad we did. We were welcomed in and enjoyed every dish we tried. Menu changes daily no changes. Sit back and enjoy:)

5 star plus! It was my partner's birthday and we were in town for an art show and were looking for…read moresomeplace special Circa 1992 did not disappoint! We shared a bottle of Whites Bay Sauvignon Blanc. We mentioned to the waitress that it could have been a touch colder (we like it icy) and after pouring us a small glass each she took it back to the blast chiller to cool it down more. It came back cooler and we put it on ice at the table. One of our favorite ways of eating sharing small plates. We started with a dozen oysters (6 from NC and 6 from SC). They were very good and the sauces that came with them were a nice compliment. Next was a nice arugula salad with some goat cheese. It was perfect for the 2 of us. Then came the "mains". We had Octopus with polenta. Not tough or chewy and the polenta was a nice compliment. Mussels in a nice white whine sauce were nice an garlicky and the bread that came with for sopping up the broth was perfect. Final "main" was beef tartare with a marrow bone. My partner does not like marrow so it was all mine and it was spectacular. Finished the night with a mini creme brulee that we shared. It was served in a little demi cup and it was just the right size bite. Our table was on the 2nd floor and it was a great atmosphere. Even though it was full, the room was not too loud that we couldn't have a nice conversation. Here is the best part. Our server, Nikki, was one of the best we have had at any restaurant. A little personality, just attentive enough and brought out our dishes just as we had asked them to come out. Couldn't ask for any better. Was our experience cheap? NO but if you have a special occasion or just want to treat yourself go to Circa 1992!

We love this place for date night and to celebrate our anniversary…read more Never a bad meal.

The food is great. The atmosphere and ambiance is rich with beautiful wood work from years gone by. There is a terrific beer selection and full bar. It is about three levels above your typical bar fare. The staff is always friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Don, the owner is a regular presence. The man cares about the food, the establishment and his staff! Erin is the longtime bartender and bar manager. Delightful. We are always greeted with a warm smile and Don usually drops by to say, "Hi." The Rueben is probably the best I've ever had, the Meatball Sundae is my wife's favorite and is wonderful. The Fish and Chips are perfection and they serve a dynamite Greek Salad. We have seen the pizzas but have not had one yet. It's definitely on the list. If you want a great dining experience in a historic bar, you should definitely pay a visit to FAT TONY'S ITALIAN PUB!
