You'll find something for sure by one if the artisans. I found a wonderful kind woman selling handmade soaps and candles. I bought about 4-5 of them and they smell so wonderful. The river walk is beautiful in general but having a small marker to browse every now and then it's a nice perk. I wish there were more produce related vendors but I'll say that it was this market that introduced me to several other small businesses in the area which I now return to for various things I need.

The kids were excited to buy pretzels and smoothies. I haven't seen my friend for 10 years, so I was too busy catching up with her to take pictures LOL. I saw a couple of vendors selling pet related goods like dog snacks and neckwear. Dogs are allowed at this market and we saw at least 2 dogs at any given time. All of them well-handled by their owners. Saw the usual farmers market items like strawberries, blueberries, sweet potatoes, lettuce, and other produce. There were also a few stands selling cut flowers and/or live plants. I took a picture of some pepper plants that someone was selling bc they are so colorful! My favorite stand was Orchidscapes. The owner showed us several species of orchids that smelled like different things - one raspberry, another like root beer, and my favorite- the one that smelled like chocolate. I eventually bought one of the latter. He gave me a card sheet and his card in case I have questions when I get him (I named my plant Charlie) home. I would definitely come here again if I was in the area. There is garage parking available as well as street parking. Bring cash, as the vendors that we purchased from did not accept credit cards. I knocked it down a star for this reason.

Once I opened the door, I was astonished by the abundance and variety of colorful fruits and vegetables everywhere. It's a small store but there was a lot to look at. I felt like a kid in a candy store for the first time. This looks like the place to go to for your Mexican produce needs. There were bins of dried beans, dried corn, fresh nopales, fresh aloe vera leaves, tomatillos, peppers, Calabacita squash, prickly chayote squash, mamey fruit, rambutan, chipilin plants, herbs, and other exotic produce. In the back, you can get fresh coconuts cut for you. Some of the produce did not have labels so do your research and have an ingredient list ready before coming here. They were also sweet Mexican breads packaged in donut boxes and small clear plastic bags made from a bakery in Tucker, Georgia. If you're looking to be adventurous, they had seasoned dried grasshoppers snacks. There was one staff/owner who spoke English but other customers there were pretty nice in helping me figure some things out. They only accept cash, no credit card. Unfortunately, I didn't have any cash on me so I will have to come try out some of their produce next time!

They just started having fresh produce today, including kale, cabbage, corn on the cob, squash, tomatoes, limes. Packaged pita bread, individually packaged halva sweets, and bulk nuts, green almonds, and Egyptian dukkah spice are available. Other products are a little bit of everything, including Latin foods, canned goods, kitchenware, syria soap, beans, rice (Egyptian, Basmati, etc), spices, dates, snacks, tea, turkish coffee. Some of the frozen/refrigerated foods include smoked herring, bacon, biscuits, falafel, grated soursop, melted chocolate, mac and cheese with langoustine, Norwegian salmon, sausages, calamari, gelato, Turkish bagels, gyro slices, samosas, kebab, chicken patties, Lahmajun bread, lavash, plain paratha, frozen veggies and herbs including Okra, molokhia herb, broad beans, baklava, kunefe, cheeses. Shelf products include Ghee ($8.99 for 14 oz), Tahini sesame paste ($5.99 for 16 oz or $8.99 for 32 oz or $21.99 for eight pounds), Egyptian rice, basmati rice, different flours like chickpea, almond, cassava, coconut, whole wheat, Jareesh (crushed wheat), cauliflower rice, small packaged noodles, lupini beans, jarred pacaya, vermicelli, basbousa boxed mix. There are a lot of different and interesting spices, such as Chinese pine nuts, dried limes, mahshi spice, lebanese spices (shawarma, kibby, sumac, kafta, ouzi), yemeni hot chili pepper, black roasted onions, yemen spice, Zaatar, as well as Karkaday Egyptian Hibiscus tea flowers. I tried this pastry made from Karen bakery in New Jersey, warmed up in the oven for about 15 minutes at 350°. It was plain, but very good-flaky and buttery. The bread would go perfect with tea for an afternoon snack or small breakfast meal. Also tried frozen falafel (Ziyad brand) and baked it, even though it called for deep frying (trying to be healthy you know). They were cute little circular shaped falafel, about 1.75 in diameter and about half an inch thick. Although I prefer a ball shaped size, it did have good flavor. If there's a product you're looking for and they don't have it, the owner is willing to see if he can get it for you. I look forward to coming back when the bakery and restaurant opens. Side note: ask permission if you want to take any pictures. The owner was not happy or friendly towards me taking close up pictures of his products while browsing the store, regardless of the reason. I didn't have the greatest shopping experience. So if you want to try to remember the name of the product, best to write it down on a notepad instead of taking a picture. But then again, he might not like that either.
