Three years ago I would have been shocked if someone told shopaholic me that I'd enjoy shopping for my kids way more than myself, but it's true. I skipped the cute women's clothing and made my way towards the back of the store to check out the cute little onesies, tutus, etc for my little ones. I just so happened to be here during the Winnetka Sidewalk Sale so I got some fab deals on kicky pants PJs and other cute outfits for my son. I didn't have as much luck for my daughter, but next time we're in need for a tutu we'll be headed here. If you stop in on the 363 days the Winnetka Sidewalk Sale isn't happening it can be a bit pricey, but definitely worth checking out for the kids. And perhaps even yourself.

I find a lot of cute stuff here, it's not all old lady clothes like some church resale shops. My only complaints are 1. lack of bathrooms! I had no idea there were no bathrooms until I asked to go! And 2. The changing rooms aren't private, basically other people watch you try stuff on, weird.

Also, all the people who work here are so super nice and there's always a lot of people working here so this looks like the opposite of any other department store Also, during Christmas, they will wrap anything that you buy there for free and you even get choices which is so incredible because no place offers that anymore outside of Neiman Marcus They always have something good to select from and when I first started shopping there in my 20s the younger section was always very much on Trend. They have some really good brands that they care that you can also find at Nordstrom for example, you can find UGGs Nike Adidas coach, great beauty and fragrances, etc. I'm not giving them a perfect five stars because I do wish that part of the store had been renovated over the years or just kind of updated would've been great And also for people who don't know, they also have their own credit card and if you need a department store credit card, they actually charge you 0% Not sure if that's still the case today, but it was back then so what that meant was as long as you paid the minimum they didn't charge you any APR or finance charges.

My little one was fitted for ballet shoes and immediately found her way to their bar where she demonstrated some very awkward looking dance poses that made me think this ballet thing may be short lived. I wasn't planning to buy any leotards here, but couldn't resist buying her yet another sparkly pink ballet dress. It was more expensive than I've found online yet less expensive than what I've seen in actual dance studios in the past. My daughter was also quite excited about the ballet outfits they sell for american girl dolls here. The two women who helped me were very helpful and even had a binder of requested attire from all the dance studios in the area. Fortunately, 3 1/2 year olds can wear whatever they want so the sparkly pink ballet dress will get lots of use. I remember getting my most favorite shirt of all, a print of my super big crush as a kid--Shaun Cassidy. I can recall the smell of the heat press, and the excitement of the final product. It was a light blue shirt...see, just like yesterday? Around since 1977, HP Tops is your town t-shirt printing shop that has a space packed with garments and clothing blanks for all your printing needs...whether a Bar/Bat Mitzvah giveaway, a customized gift, or shirt for camp, this is your one stop shop. We needed a special shirt made, a simple black t-shirt with some lettering on it. We walked in, told the owner what we wanted, he arranged the letters perfectly on the heat press, and did the shirt on the spot in less than 15 minutes. All in all the total came to $21. Shirt cost + $.50 per letter. They have an online ordering system, but we were told it's better to come in to make sure it turns out okay. I personally suggest going in, because the customer service is off-the-charts fantastic, and the shop is a fun visit...even if you just want to browse and drum up a conversation.
