I am a long time resident in Great Barrington but, as an older person, haven't visited Tom's Toys frequently. However, for my grandchildren's Christmas gifts, I went to shop there this year. The service I was met with was awful. I have a hard time walking and had accidentally bumped into a few stuffed animals. I apologized but was met with rudeness and a lack of empathy. I was humiliated in front of the crowd within the store. There was one worker in particular who astounded me. I left the store shocked by the rude service and extreme lack of empathy from one worker in particular.

I didn't come to Mirabai to awaken any spirits- but I do like crystals and came here to select a few for the positive energy they release and personal development and found Citrine, Moonstone, Hematite(?). But aside from stones and things, these folks also carry cute decor such as votive candle holders, Black Russian stone tiles that I use to anchor a candle holder or could use on its own and a few other things. Its mix and match and you can always swap a scent out that you chose to get the most perfect smell. It was so unqiue that you can chose which vessel you'd like your candle to be seen in (there can be an upcharge depending on which you chose). You can even make your scent become a diffuser or perfume!! Lastly, there are drinks and food avaliable. Come back after two hours and you're candle is ready to go home. A great local bookstore…read more There is like 1 maybe 2 people that seem to work here. The shelves are loaded with all types of books from woodworking to youth fiction to historical works. Just everything under the sun, and they all seem very fairly priced. My son found a number of great kids books, I found a book on Mission style furniture making, and my wife found a number of novels she was interested in. Something for everyone and a lot to look through! TL;DR: Good bookstore, fair priced.

My mom has randomly asked me if I knew a used bookstore with old vet manuals (like for cows, etc) and I happened to walk by this place a couple days later, so I popped in. I found several OLD (1904-ish) farm vet type books. Upon checking out, I told the owner how thrilled I was to find them, and he recommended I go upstairs, second door, second shelf from the top, closest to the window.... he knows every book in the place! And word is he has another warehouse full of books!! They're only open 11-5 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so I plan to go back at 10:59 with snacks and stay the duration. Poor guy is gonna have to throw me out!

Admission is free, with a box for donations. The visitor center looked very nice and modern inside, even though it was closed due to the pandemic. The cafe looked like a great place to enjoy a cold drink after encircling the park. The sculptures are all connected to one another via many many paths, and there's no wrong order to see them all. I like the layout because it encourages you to forge your own path and move about on your own time. It even fosters a sense of discovery when you find a new path. Every piece of art is wonderfully complimented by its surroundings and have a deep meaning. You could choose to use the park as a photo-op if you'd like (we did a few of our own, it's hard to resist doing that!) or just as an outdoor museum. You really do need at least a couple of hours to fully appreciate everything the premises has to offer! I quite enjoyed this place and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a day art excursion.
