Felt like they were scamming me. I went for the simple combo which is $40 and takes an hour. I explained I only had 45 mins but was happy to pay for the hour. They then charged me $85 and tried to say it was 2 different massages combined. Made no sense. Took a while to get them to void the transaction and recharge the correct amount. Injured and bruised after a massage from here. I do not believe the "therapists" are licensed and/or properly trained. The pressure was extreme and lingered long in an area leaving deep bruises. They pressed directly onto and tried to crack my spine, both of which are unsafe. In this setting, with this level massage, and especially this lack of training there should be no touching the spine. I will never be back to this location or this chain. I wrote to inform them of these issues and got no response. It all just shows there is no professionalism or accountability here and therefore they cannot be trusted, you are at risk of injury going here. read more

Called in to book a couples massage for a specific time. Arrived on time but surprised with separated private rooms. Sad and disappointed I didn't get to be next to my partner. They should have told me over the phone that all the private rooms were for ONE person only. Why would it be called a couples massage if the couple doesn't get to lay next to each other? Anyways, I went into my room then waited 15 mins for my massage to start. What's the point of scheduling a specific time if they're just going to start late?? This caused my partner to wait around for me at the end. As for the massage, I felt like they did not do a well enough job. AVOID! GROSS. WEIRD. INCOMPLETE. DISHONEST. That was the weirdest and the worst full body massage I've ever gotten, and I've probably had 50. The towel, used as a blanket felt slightly damp and like it had a film on it. Sort of grossed me out. No idea what that was about. Her method was random, kept jumping around. Redoing the same things later on. Skipping entire muscle groups. Asymmetrical in both muscle groups and time spent on each side. Never was asked to turn over. I don't think she had any training whatsoever, or even any proclivity towards body work. Most of the time, she was forceful without any grace. Other times, she was literally just spending lots of time putting on lotion. Rocks were too hot. One slipped down from my butt to my crotch. Luckily it had cooled by then but it was weird she just let the rock sit there. I looked at the clock when she came in. It said 6:48. She said done at 6:38, I looked right when she said that. I explained it was 50 minutes. (Oddly, I actually wanted it to stop early, it was that bad.) She insisted I pay for a 60 min. Had a bad feeling after we started and have a worse feeling now. That's a first. Needless to say no tip, and I'll never will go to that place again. read more

The massage was very good, but they ruined my shirt and there was definitely a language barrier. I called to make my appointment, and even pointed to the amount I wanted to pay and the type of massage I wanted ($30 30 min. chair massage). She said okay and put me on one of the beds (....not a chair). The massage itself was great, but she stretched out my shirt and ruined it. Bad. Dishonest. I asked for a $35 basic massage and was charged $100! Never going back. Massage was clumsy, ham-handed and unprofessional. Staff swiped my credit card through their machine twice ("by mistake"). Over charged me $65. Staff said they could not help it and did not understand English and so I got no refund. I called their main number twice, spoke to them face-to-face and got no refund even though I showed them the receipt. Mean. I find it truly difficult to leave a poor rating for any business. However, when other businesses exist with similar services nearby that are much better, it's disheartening and sometimes necessary. I called ahead for a time slot based on other Yelper recommendations, even though their website and signage states "Walk-ins Welcome." After entering, I stood around for a few minutes before seeking out someone beyond the curtain entrance. I chose a 75 minute foot and body massage since strictly a body massage is about $1 a minute which, in the end, adds up to be more expensive than having the addition of feet reflexology. They do not have a sign in sheet where you can choose the pressure or intensity. I had a young Asian gal who spoke decent English and was fairly friendly. Yet, I had to ask her three different times during the massage for harder pressure. She would then dig her hands in slightly harder, and then would return to light pressure a few minutes later. She once asked "Too hard?" and I responded "No...too soft." And she just chuckled. I'm afraid to say that maybe she didn't have the strength or energy. During the rest of the services, she seemed to just toss towels on and off me almost disgruntled. I started out in an open room lying down in an older looking chair/bed that was uncomfortable to lay in with my feet soaking in a tub of warm water. After mentioning it, they raised the head of the bed. They covered my eyes with a small towel but it was still too bright from the windows and loud from the parking lot and commercials playing between the relaxation songs to relax. She performed a head, face and neck massage before moving on to my feet. I wore a cheap white tee shirt since one Yelper mentioned stains from the massage oil. I didn't have this problem with staining, however, the oil/lotion did not smell good, as if it had disinfectant in it. At what I imagined was half way through, they had me relocate to a private room where I derobed and laid on my stomach. My nose and mouth barely fit in the tiny face hole on the massage bed and put uncomfortable pressure on my Adam's apple. I lacked the relaxation I was seeking and paid for. A few perks at Little Rainbow Spa is that they provide hot stones as part of the back massage and you are not clothed the entire time while in a private room. Nonetheless, I was not impressed with the services and hate to spread negatives rants, but I want to let others know about my disappointing experience. I do not plan on returning. read more

This place has no right giving massages! The employees barely speak English. I told them several times I wanted a light massage...very gentle. I booked an hour massage and the guy working on me was so rough that I told him he was being to hard and I want a gentle message. He either didn't understand or simply did not care. After 20 minutes of this I simply stopped the message and paid for the time. By the time I got home I was so still I could barely move and my back was covered with bruises. I had two back-to-back massages here with wildly different experiences: MASSAGE 1: This massage was HEAVENLY. I felt relaxed and soothed while the massuer hit all the right spots. Went home to a wonderful night of sleep. MASSAGE 2: This was one of the WORST massages I've ever had. Beware the big, doughy man with nicotine breath! His massage was the equivalent to a bull in a china shop. It was fast and furious with absolutely no touch, feel, or intuition. He pushed down on me so long and hard I couldn't breath, and i was afraid my ribs would crack. I'm writing this two days later and my back is still achy and out of sorts. The lady named Angela (?) really helped to work on some of the knots I had in the back and shoulder. I was really looking forward to coming here but ultimately I was disappointed. The massages were both very different experiences for me and my partner; I had a great masseuse that gave me just enough pressure and didn't push too hard, but my partner had to constantly ask for less/lighter pressure only to receive a laugh in response. She asked about four times and her masseuse (didn't get her name but she looked like the owner of the place) laughed and eased up on the pressure for maybe about ten seconds before reverting to it, which made for a really painful experience. Additionally, the ambience wasn't as relaxing as I would have liked. The beds are right next to the entrance with only a thin wall in between, so I could hear arriving customers who were in the middle of deciding exactly which service they were going to pick. Couldn't exactly relax after that. The service ($45 for a 60-minute full body massage, $90 for both) wasn't worth the price my partner and I paid for it. Despite all this, there are a few pros: it's close to UCSB, it's right next to Lily's Tacos, the interior is cute, and they give you a lil water bottle + candy after your service. read more

Can't beat the price - $36 after 20% tip for a 60 minute reflexology massage? Yes please! Things to note: this is a communal massage room, so you'll stay clothed (men, please note that really means that stripping to your boxers isn't appreciated). It also means you'll be subjected to sounds you wouldn't be in a private room. Conversations as people come and go and between masseuses, and even the occasional whine-y dog roaming around (like I just was). Also, at least one of the masseuses smokes and smells heavily of cigarettes. I'm willing to overlook all of that because of the price and how my body feels when they're done. As a personal trainer, I work out a LOT. This isn't your typical "Swedish" (or as I call them, "petting") massage. This is hard core deep tissue reflexology. Muscle knots? They'll be figuratively ripped from your body. It can be very intense and isn't for everyone. For me? Heaven. I treat myself bi-weekly, something I can't do anywhere else due to price. I had Robert massage me and he knows what he's doing! He does speak English which is great cuz not all of the massage therapist there do. I asked for the hour foot and body combo massage. The whole time he would ask if the pressure was ok. First let me say I'm a hair stylist and have had back, hip, and leg pain for a very long time. I haven't seen a dr yet but I've always thought it was my sciatica. As soon as Robert started massaging my feet (reflexology) he knew right away I have lower back, hip, and sciatica pain, and told me my back was very bad. I've never had a massage therapist be able to know where my pain is by massaging my feet and feeling the bumps in them where my body pain is. He asked if I wanted to pay for longer time so he could work on my pain and I did. He worked the deep tissue and knew exactly where to massage to get the knots and pain out. It wasn't a relaxing massage but that's not what I needed. I went in there because I could barely walk from all the pain I was in and needed a deep tissue massage, and needed to get through the pain before I could feel relief. I walked out of there feeling so much better. I woke up today with no pain at all and usually I wake up feeling so stiff and it's hard to get out of bed but today I was able to get right up. COMMUNAL MASSAGE ROOM First thing ...this is an reflexology type massage with several chairs in the room. Keep your clothes on and your voice down. If you want to take off your pants and strip down to your boxers, pay more for your massage and go someplace else. Starts with a foot soak and a massage. For around $25 an hour the massage is great. There's no happy ending at this Asian massage place, and remember your in a room with up to 10 other people. I like to use my Iphone and headset, or have also used earplugs. These places seems to have long hours, so I prefer to make my appointments in the morning and before they've had lunch. read more

Jenny did a fantastic job- I was completely relaxed and she worked out some knots I'd had for quite awhile. I liked how you move rooms for the back massage so it's more private. BLUF: Um, wow. Grace's version of a deep tissue massage is a combination of ROLFing and a sports massage. If you're suffering and need muscle fibers loosened up and moving more freely, I recommend her by name. Just don't take my time slot because trust me, I'll be going back to see her in Goleta. Longer version: I've been suffering a lot of musculoskeletal issues and they've been getting worse. On the rare occasion that I do go for a massage somewhere, it always helps and I feel much better for it. I've even had multiple doctors tell me that it would be a good thing for me to do regularly. That being said, I'm not Elon Musk so I can't afford it. Recently, though, I've been getting more and more bound up and finally decided that it was better to invest in my health than continue to suffer. Hey, I'm a guy - what kind of logic did you expect? :-) Little Rainbow has the best Yelp ratings and the best prices so, not being one to be stupid about things other than my health, I called them as soon as they opened this morning. Their schedule was wide open so I scurried over there for an early lunch. It's a very innocuous store front and the inside isn't the most conducive to relaxing so I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. They have a dozen or so low beds in the front and a couple rooms in the back. Note that front and back aren't far apart and everything is pretty compact since it's a really small place. Again, I was wondering what I was getting myself into. The front and back doors were left open and you could hear planes flying overhead, traffic outside, and with a drape for a door on the massage room you could hear them washing dishes and talking. Did I mention that I was wondering what I was getting myself into? I had been looking at more traditional massage studios but none could fit me in at a moment's notice. I was hoping for a sports massage since that's what I really needed but I was afraid I was going to get a cheap rubdown. Better than nothing but not what I was after. I really was wondering what I was getting myself into. Then Grace started on me. She's about the smallest woman I've ever met. Wearing a parka with rocks in the pockets she mighhhhht tip the scales at 80 pounds. Not an auspicious start for a deep tissue massage of any variety. She forgot to tell me that her arms were hydraulic presses rated at 40 tons but trust me, I figured that one out for myself. I have no idea the physics behind it but that woman was able to find places on my that I didn't know I had, and she freed up every muscle fiber that had been angry with me this morning. By the time I left, I think I had given up every state secret I knew and made up a few just for good measure. When I left I made sure to tip well because I appreciated her breaking up so many of the adhesions that had been causing me so much grief. I'm shedding my manly mantle of not taking care of my body and I'm going back to see her again in a week or two. If you're suffering from sports issues and need someone to get in and free things up so they move again, she really does an *AMAZING* job. I'll admit that I had to tap out a few times because I was just too sore for her to work my calves, in particular. Bad experience. My wife and I went, she had a chair massage. The guy working on her didn't know how to adjust the chair, and obviously had no experience giving a massage, kept pushing too hard, pushing on her spine, no routine. He kept leaving In the middle to answer the phone. My therapist also kept leaving to answer the phone too (not to talk to clients, but kept speaking in Thai, so probably friends or family kept calling). Then the music playing had ads every 10 minutes, like they could have been bothered to pay the 10 bucks a month for ad free radio. My therapist also kept getting distracted and talking to the therapist next to her. Also, the whole massage was fast and not soothing. This place used to be better but has really gone downhill. read more

I am torn between a 3 and 4 but I look at the places I go to in LA that I give a 4 to and I can't say this place is as good all around. I live in LA where these type of joints are all over and you can get one cheaper, better and in a better environment. But for SB/Goleta I guess this is all people in the area have to compare with. Giving a courtesy extra star for the first guy (see review notes below). I went to this place two days in a row this past weekend. I am 100% fine with communal areas and I frequent get combo reflexology massages in LA. This place is not quiet: airplanes (due to SBA being right there), noises from cars, people outside and worst of all, the people inside seem to not have any problem talking (loudly) to each other which really takes away the ability to enjoy the massage. The massages I had were pretty good. I went in around 830pm on a Friday and they were slammed. But the manager/owner (middle aged guy) called someone else to come in so I wouldn't have to wait a long time. He was there in about 7 min. So that left a good first impression. The first guy I had seemed to have some issues with his hands (perhaps a twitch, or maybe he was working all day and was tired) but it almost seemed like his thumb was popping in and out. Distracting. Once he got to my back this really improved and I gave him the OK to go harder. He laughed and repeated it back a few times as if he was talking to the people there then goes, "OK" and he really went for it. I love it. I could tell he was thinking I would tell him to go softer because he was REALLY going hard but that's what I am used to. He also successfully got my back and neck to crack and it felt amazing. The second time I went, I had a female and the place was a lot more quiet, although of the employees decided to sit in a chair near me (not working) and was eating/drinking, playing some game on his phone, etc. No one but me was there as a customer so while it was fairly quiet, the employee was quite rude to be doing this. Other reviewers seem to make excuses for the employees but I wont. It is one thing to have no control over the car alarms going off outside, the noisy people outside, airplanes, etc but the employees could use efforts to not be talking to each other the whole time. If this place was in LA, it would not a popular place but if you're in SB/Goleta and need a cheap massage and are willing to sacrifice ambiance, then go here. $35 + tip for an hour combo reflexology, so the price is right. read more
