When one fills out YMCA's membership CANCELLATION FORM, (which I did on site) they should be responsible enough to process the paperwork. (They didn't.) 3. When I was repeatedly charged (after my cancellation), and I called to discuss it with the manager she asked me if I had my copy since it appeared that her copy had fallen through the cracks. One could jump to assumptions as to connecting my complaint to their 'accidentally' losing my paperwork, but why bother! They're either wholesome & ethical or not!

Loved the setting, the food was amazing and the hands on learning with tricks and tips I haven't seen before make this my absolute favorite survival school so far. Very easy to find (off the highway) but passing a cemetery on the way on Halloween weekend was a little funny/creepy. A Family friendly atmosphere~ Very reasonable prices. Kids go for free and once you pay for your course, oh and you can go again to the same level for free! Who does that? this speaks volumes of the instructors. They genuinely want you to learn and practice your survival skills. Oh I can't give enough positive reviews about the Instructors.... all three (Ray, Chris & Eric) followed the "I do, We do, You do" training keys.... each are aware of the participants purpose/ goal of each activity....demonstration of the skill and then complete a guided practice of the skill. We practiced building a fire, building a shelter, tying knots, using a compass to navigate, and critical first aid... Instructors interacted with each participant, giving immediate feedback and additional help when needed. However pacing of the activities was appropriate. It is a lot to take in. Yes I know camping but being able to advance my skills in a basic class was amazing and can't wait to use my skills on my own. Each Instructors is extremely knowledgeable, down-to-earth, patient, and funny! They are passionate about what they are doing & want you to ask questions You can easily recognize the effective teaching strategies that were implemented so naturally to these instructors. Overall, excellent experience. Can't wait to do this again.

Approximately a year ago, Crossfit Lavon became my home, after committing 4 years of my life to…read moreanother CrossFit gym. The pandemic and working out alone in my garage had really knocked the wind out of my sails as fair as my fitness was concerned. When the world opened back up, I tried returning to the gym I had called home for so long, but my life had changed. My girls were older now and involved in new things that made it impossible for me to be a "regular" at my old gym. When I was able to show up, the place I had called home for so long felt foreign to me. I distinctly remember leaving that gym one Saturday morning, in tears, because I no longer knew anyone and finding a partner to workout with was a challenge. I have no idea what possessed me to stop at CrossFit Lavon that day, but I'm so glad I did!! I signed up for my free trial, but only used one day of it, before signing up as a permanent member. Cole, Amanda, Carrie, Soky, Tressa, Melissa and the entire CrossFit Lavon family made me feel so welcome! They encouraged me to continue to do the hard things!! The kind of things that made me leave my comfort zone. Their belief that I could, made me believe that I could!! I have seen tremendous growth in my abilities, and I attribute that to the Community provided by this gym. CrossFit Lavon is now my home! They are now my gym family!! Multi-functional park for literally EVERYONE!…read more Fitness Enthusiasts: There are softball fields and a cricket pitch. There is a built in exercise station. I see cross-fit groups out here all the time. There is a huge running/walking/biking loop around the entire park and connecting to other routes. I think also some kids soccer groups also play here. Families: there is a very large playground with benches and shade! It's top notch and well maintained. Tweens/teens- there are benches and sick places to hang. You can even bring hammocks. There is plentiful parking. Picnic tables. Families often come out on nights with solar events and their telescopes. To be fair it is super well lit so it may not be the best place for star gazing, but you get many people to interact with. Plus let me add for Pokémon Go players- three gyms and 6 Pokéstops so this makes for excellent playing.

Passing this park on an out-of-the-way side street for the last two years, I noticed a "workout area" towards the entrance to the park. I made a mental note to stop and check it out but, never did until today. I usually work out daily at the recreation center but, recently due to Omnicron, I've been looking for an interesting outside place to get some exercise. I remembered passing this place and decided to check it out. On pulling up I was initially disappointed. I guess I thought the structure should be bigger, more interesting, more challenging! then I started using it. Bam!!! Hello! I thought I was in decent shape for my age but, boy was I wrong. I couldn't even make it through a few exercises on this "adult playground"!!!! It just shows you can't judge a book by its cover or make assumptions. You have to Do It. this great little outdoor gym known as the Miracle is just that. In a fairly small area, several exercises are demonstrated via placard if you need them. It will wear you out, challenge you in ways you didn't anticipate. I'm so glad I found this outdoor place to exercise in the fresh air at this time. I feel I'm getting a type of physical challenge that I didn't inside a gym. Definite Go!
