It's been a while since we stayed at this campground, one of the reasons is they raised their rate to the point where it isn't worth camping there, second things are not as clean as they used to be, there are better options, it is about a 3 hour drive from where we live, looks like we won't be back, good luck! read more

This review is for the lodge and casino. Beautiful and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Nice bathroom nice views from the first floor looking into the courtyard. The casino employees are friendly and helpful. The shared spaces in the hotel are spectacular from the amazing river rock fireplace to the waterfall. I'm not a big gambler but played some of the slots and walked away with an additional hundred dollars. There are a few nice restaurant in the town of Manistee too. This was a nice weekend getaway. read more

This location is open. I went last night with a couple of friends because casino buffets are always great. Not this one! The bar was extremely small for the price, the food was cold, and the presentation was subpar. I ended up eating the fresh cut veggies. The ambiance was lacking as well. I really wished we would have looked around before being seated to eat. The reason for two stars is that the server was kind and attentive. Additionally, the actual bar within the casino was great. The drinks were made well, the bar was clean, and the bar tenders were entertaining. I would not return to this location. read more

My wife and me paid for a two nights stay . They put are room at the fathest end from the Casino itself . I'm not only a Senoir citizen , but a Veteran with Copd . I asked at the desk about the mobile units they had parked near the front desk . I was told $75 plus deposit to to rent one for a day . What way and disgrace to not only treat our Senoir citizens but our Veterans . We the boomers spend way more then those mobile units would ever cost the Casino . They should be free !!! We spent one night at the casino hotel and the beds were comfortable enough but at a rate of $300 per night, the room desperately needed some tender loving care. The dresser had quite a few chips in the wood and the door molding for the bathroom needed a new paint job. The options for dining were really limited. You could go to the bistro for mostly prepackaged food or the buffet which wasn't open till later in the day. The only reason we stay there is that we visit family in Manistee and the other motels have worse ratings. Management should consider lowering the nightly rate. That may increase the volume of visitors and ultimately profits so that improvements can be made. read more

Me and my boyfriend went there for a early bday present for me bc it's one of couple casinos in Michigan that are 18+. This was my first casino but this was a really nice casino! Me and him stayed in a room for a night and the room was BEAUTIFUL. The casino was very nice and clean and sweet sweet staff. The only problem was the security guards.. since I am almost 19 and 4'10 I don't really look my age, and these security were a little rude when asking for my ID. We are having a great time here. We came on a bus tour. Check in was quick and easy. The room is nice. My only complaint about the room is there is barely any lighting. Other then that it's big, clean, and also has a bath tub and two sinks. Everything is decorated for Christmas right now and looks stunning. Even without the decor the hotel and casino itself is beautiful. We ate at the buffet and it was one of the best buffets i ever had. Very good and cheap! $16 a person. I read other reviews and was concerned about coming here. One comment i kept seeing was smoke. I am not a smoker and can not stand the smell. This casino was not bad at all. I reserved a site at the RV park by phone with Sam-I-am. She was very helpful and pleasant. The only issue we had with our stay was that the website said free coffee and hot chocolate at the RV building but there was none. The vending machine was empty and the soda machine wouldn't take credit card. The casino was nice and the pool was refreshing. read more

Disappointed to say the least. My fiancée and I have been trying to get in touch with a manager for weeks now to schedule a block of rooms for our wedding party and we are just getting completely ignored. Half the time when you call reservations/front desk you're just left on hold until you can't stand it anymore and then when you do actually get a hold of someone they will forward you to a manager that never answers their phone and won't call back even after leaving multiple voicemails. There's gotta be an easier way to do this.. I don't know the situation there but it seems like the hotel management is failing to do their job. read more

We went to a concert at LRCR recently and paid top dollar for great seats. My advice to you is don't bother. Get the cheap seats and when the concert starts just get up and stand right in front of the stage...they don't care. Another option is to wait about 20 minutes then you can just walk in for free. We've stayed in the motel before but can't review this stay because they messed up our reservations and we needed to stay somewhere else. So sad. read more

We went for a 2 night getaway recently. We had a standard double queen room, which was very clean, and nicely kept. The room had no view, but we didn't expect one. It also didn't have a fridge or microwave, so be aware of that, in case you like to keep beverages cold in your room, or meal leftovers for late snacking. The bathroom was nicely equipped, although the shower spray was rather wimpy. We used the pool and hot tub, which were a very nice plus. The pool temperature was perfect, as was the hot tub. The only thing that was missing would be some hot tub jets in various placements, better to direct a jet to a sore shoulder or lower back. We went to the spa/salon for haircuts, something we'd had trouble fitting into our schedules at home. Pricing was comparable to most salons, service was excellent. This part of LRCR gets a 5 star. The buffets get a 1 star. We went the evening we arrived, about 45 minutes after they opened. While not busy, there were a number of empty containers, and a lot of unused space. There weren't a lot of selections. One entire dessert case had just 1 container, 2/3 empty, of a flat, dried looking cheesecake. The next case had another similar cheesecake, as well as a little rack of mini cupcakes, which my husband declared dry and inedible. They looked like the grocery store minis. Then there was a small plate of a few cookies. I tried a peanut butter cookie that tasted like powder. I couldn't finish it. The apple crisp was good, and ice cream was available. I was sick for 3 hours after that buffet. We did go to the breakfast buffet the next morning, thinking it would be cheaper than a coffee shop, at half price. We planned to just get rolls and fruit, coffee and juice. All we could find were assorted hot foods, scrambled eggs, meats, potatoes, etc. We couldn't find any rolls, donuts, bagels, toast, muffins. There was a small platter of fruit out, which was nearly empty. Coffee and juice were brought to us. The buffet servers were quite friendly, but selection and variety very poor. We went a few years ago, and it was a huge difference. Lastly, the slots were as tight as everyone warned. Terrible. We won't be back. read more

Tightest slots I've ever seen. And unless you're into lame penny slots, most of them are outdated, circa 1990s. Did not see anyone winning anything. I don't care where you are at, if you put $100 in a machine, you should win something. Nope, not here, nothing! Worse than Detroit casinos! So that's saying something. Hotel rooms are nice, but they have no refrigerator or microwave, absolutely nowhere to plug in your phone again, circa 1990. Also the layout is unbelievably confusing. Good luck trying to find out where your room is and what elevator you need take to get there. You end up wandering around aimlessly trying to figure out what the person who designed this place was thinking. Save your money, go elsewhere. In a nutshell, this place just sucks. Little River Casino has a good mixture of new and "classic" slot machines so if you don't want to pay up to $8 for the maximum bid on a penny slot (yeah, you read that right), you can still feel decadent bidding $1.80 on Shadow of the Panther. There were people winning, but it wasn't me. I couldn't find a hot machine to save my life. The one that was giving me the best run was under a cold blowing vent next to an ash flinging chain smoker. I don't give low stars because I don't win the first time I play a place. This a lovely facility but the machines were absolutely filthy. I wanted to get a hazmat outfit because of the cigarette butts, half drinks, and disgusting booger-like things on the buttons. And not just on one machine! And on a Wednesday! I wanted to use the $1.50 button on one machine and there was so much crud on it, I took out a pen to touch the button. From the money I dropped there, a good power wash rental would not be a bad idea. read more

No $5 dollar blackjack tables anymore. They had a $10 and $15 table open with a combined THREE players. Pretty stupid business move in my opinion. I don't play machines so I walked around. I saw lots of people losing and overheard one lady that hit a 'bonus' exclaim "THAT'S IT??" I went with four others and they all lost. Bathrooms were nice and the free coffee and Pepsi products were the highlight of my visit. Sad. So very sad. read more

Very disappointed with the service during Covid. They were extremely inconsistent with how they enforced the rules at the blackjack tables. They wouldn't allow anybody behind the tables while they were playing, which made it impossible to wait for a game. The dealers were extremely rude and it was very apparent that the staff was not on the same page in regards to what the rules were. My group was very disappointed and we will not being going back, we would rather throw our money into Lake Michigan. read more

We have always loved the atmosphere and gambling here. However, this trip was very disappointing. The rooms were not clean. Stains on the carpet and a large stain on the bedding. Service at the sports bar and drink bar were slow and servers not attentive. We ordered 2 items from the deli and it took almost an hour to get, even though it was not that busy. No $5 blackjack tables anymore and only 1 craps table. They offer automated roulette only, which is not as social or enjoyable to play. Blackjack tables were condensed to one table after 1am, and there were no seats available. The one craps table closed before 2am. Our drinks were taken off the floor even though we were served last call and didn't have time to finish them. We will look for another favorite casino now, unfortunately. read more

The casino and rooms were basically your average motel\hotel rooms. Nothing special. I have a Prostetic leg and suffer from the constant battles of multiple sclerosis. After leaving the restroom last night I was asked to leave the casino due to my intoxicated nature. I have MS & A Prostetic leg, so sorry my walking isn't perfect. I CAN'T HELP IT! It wasn't the fact that I was asked to leave, it was the way they went about it. I had to defend myself, my pride. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Worse experience in 50 years of RVing. Reserve site in Feb. when we arrived in April were assigned smallest site in Park backing up to noisy highway. Had to park tow vehicle in regular casino parking lot outside of RV Park. Had too pay $100 damage deposit like for hotel room. Card keys for restroom/shower did not work. Two other RVers had identical problem. Reported problem to Hotel office receive new card keys that did not correct problem. Last time we will stay here..Stayat your our own risk. read more

Went to another concert here last night. It will be my LAST. The staff is always extremely rude - I agree 100% with Chris B's comments below. After the concert we relaxed in the casino bar where the 2nd Hand Band was playing. We observed the staff/security harassing some people near us. It seemed clear to us these people were not causing any problems but were soon escorted away. I understand the need for high security at a casino, but Little River has always given me an uneasy feeling. It's run like a Nazi concentration camp. It's like they don't want you to have a good time and they enjoy ruining your evening. Next time I want to see a concert I'll drive across the state before I go to Little River. read more

Little River was more than I expected. I expected a small town casino that didn't have much to offer - much like the other casinos up north. However, this place is actually quite nice. Everything looks new, clean, and fresh. From the moment you drive into the parking lot, to walking through the doors, this place actually a nice, up-north classy feel and look to it. The room: The hotel room was nice. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The decor was new and inviting. The food: This was so-so. Typical casino buffet. I wasn't there for dinner, however, I went for their $3.25 midnight breakfast. $3 for a ton of food, so I won't complain about it. The casino: The gaming floor is actually really nice as well. A ton of slots, nice selection, and a good area of table games. I was there on a weekend and at the peak hours of the night, almost all of the tables were running and actually full. Roulette was a blast as we had about 10 people standing around the table. Friendly dealers and cheap(er) booze. If you're heading up north, give this place a shot. $80 for a night at the hotel, decent food selections, cheap booze at their bars, and a really nice gaming floor that is clean and not too smokey at all like the rest - beware, however, because Manistee is a boring place with not much to offer aside from this place. read more

PROBLEM FINDING SPA ENTRANCE! BEWARE. Can not park in front of a Spa entrance and walk in. After driving around in the parking lot we went back to the main entrance and asked the valet, "Where do we park for the Spa?" (At our age we just want to walk in the door...plus my friend had just had foot surgery.) How to fix. SIGNAGE.....AND A PARKING LOT WITH A DOOR THAT OPENS DIRECTLY INTO THE SPA. How does it function now? Park your car at main entrance. But, know in advance, it is a very long walk to the Spa. It is at the opposite end of the building, so if you bring anything, put it on wheels. read more

If you're a serious gambler who finds yourself in Manistee... don't be upset when two young girls that don't know what they're doing wind up at your table and get help from the dealer because they're cute and... you're in Manistee. I mean... in Manistee there is only so much to do in the winter - ski... or... gamble... or just drink, eat, and sit in front of the fireplace. Now... I spent 3 years in Chicago so I got accustomed to expensive drinks... looking over the drink menu at the bar I browse the wine list and find a cab I want. 15 bucks a glass... okay... oh ... wait... that's for the bottle!!! We have been coming here for years and always enjoyed the service and amenities they offered. Our recent visit was so disappointing...we even cut our trip short and checked out early. I understand Covid has changed things, but the lack of service and hospitality was beyond disappointing. Slow crabby service and below sub par food (at the few places they served food) was horrible. I get that staff is lower in numbers, but that shouldn't mean lower in hospitality. Lack of Service and quality made the trip and risk not even worth it. Would not even bother for small table availability and staff acts overwhelmed and over worked. Not pleasant at all. This is a tardy review. Sis and I visited relatives in the area and stayed at this resort. I read the reviews and decided to stay as it seemed a quiet location and it was. I saw deer in the morning! Fresh cool air too. I live in cities so it was a great experience. There are some quaint towns in the nearby area as well as some good food along the way. Go for the fish! Also the property is located near a few rivers and one day we 'tubed' down a slow moving river which provided a good time to visit, have a brew and eat a snack drifting the afternoon away. We had a 'tube' for our beverages, food and trash and picked up trash along the way. Very nice day. This is a very good hotel choice for the area. I don't carry a flask as some patrons, but I found the prices of drinks to be quite reasonable and very good. I do not know of any property in the USA that will allow a patron to get their drinks from their room as one review mentioned. Not even Las Vegas! Honestly. But they do have a ce-ment pond! Restaurants served fresh fish which was 100% ok with me. The food is good. Even the buffet staff was friendly and attentive and we had many in our party. Again, the prices are cheaper than most hotels/casinos. Service in all outlets was very good. The entire stay after arrival was very nice. Location is pretty good to the smaller communities and to Lake Michigan. A very pretty area. My only complaint would be the front desk. The older woman with glasses late 60's was a real b*tch. I called with a late arrival as well as reserving 2 beds. She gave my room away. ?????? I had already paid for the room and called from the airport and called 1 hour prior to arriving saying I was 1 hour away. I was there in 45 minutes! No response from her about my calling. When I asked how she was going to make it right, she barked that she only had one bed left. I was travelling with my sister and said so on the phone and when I made my reservation. The night Manager came out to address the commotion and offered a suite for the remainder of our stay if we could take what was available which is a correct remedy. This did not sit well with this woman and she said so in front of us. Tacky. Sis stood there with her mouth open not believing this is an employee speaking this way in front of a customer! Anyway, for the first night we needed a second bed. I went to fetch food and drink while sis went up to the room and freshened up after our travels. While I was gone, the 'front desk clerk' whom I've mentioned did bring up a single bed, rang the bell and left. Sis opened the door to see a mattress in front of her and nothing else except said employee walking away. Sis had to bring the mattress into the room and was not amused. She is a very polite, nice, calm woman. I laughed and said Welcome to Green Acres! I did calm sis down with food, wine, laughter, and a little song and said we are on vacation, so don't let one old, washed-up, tired, bitter, 'stain' who never got out of Dodge spoil our vacation. And to her dismay and our happiness, for the remainder of our stay, second night on, we were given a suite with living room, dining room, fireplace and one bath even had a Jacuzzi. Great room for entertaining! Whoohoo! Overall a great time. That front desk clerk would never represent my property. Sis agreed and of all professions, sis is a Human Resource Manager. I stay at a lot of hotels and find the rooms at Little River Hotel and Casino quite nice compared to the other local hotels/motels where friends stayed. Probably the best hotel in the area. Room (#2118) was nice & large, but got woke up by machinery outside our window at 7am...not cool. Couldn't go back to sleep. The rooms were decent priced so will probably try them again in the future & just ask for one away from the construction. Buffet was one of the worst I've ever seen. Did not try dinner buffet after looking at it first. Really lacking in everything. We did try the breakfast buffet though. It compared to a very low budget place. Half the trays were empty & not immediately stocked. Maybe it's different if you get there earlier? But should it really make a difference?! read more

The steak house inside the casino should be avoided at all cost. We pasted on the buffet our mistake. The line was very long so we went steak house. It was just awful couldn't have been worse and not just the steak but the lake perch as well. They make a great salad and the bread was good. But the ribeye and lake perch was like cat food. I ordered my steak rare and it was well done and when I said something they took it back and brought me what I think was 1/3 of it back and I'm sure it had dirt on it. Three people having dinner that cost $164.00 and 90% of the food was left on the plate. Never ever again read more

I was at the casino in June for the rug hooking school, to which the conference organizer paid for my room Sunday - Thursday. I opted to stay an additional night at my expense. When I checked out Saturday morning, I gave my card to the front desk and got a bill back for the entire week. When the clerk tried to credit me back it would not allow her to do so. She assured me that she would make sure it was corrected. That seemed reasonable, she then proceeded to charge me for the one night and I went on my way. When I check my account a week later, I had still not been refunded. I contacted the conference leader and she went personally to the resort, gave them her cc and was charged $805.09 for 6 nights. I was told it would take about a week to correct. Waited and waited and waited, no credit has been made, I have called 6 times explained the situation and assured that someone would call me right back. To date no one has returned my calls, not Autumn, not her supervisors. No one. The casino has not only over charged me, but they overcharged the converence leader as well. I am now disputing all the charges with my cc. read more
