Such a good surprise find! We stopped in after tubing for a quick lunch. If nothing else you have to have the fried green tomatoes and a glass of sweet tea. Next time I wont even order a plate! The rainbow trout was very thin and over seasoned, the baked potato was baked to perfection. The food is wonderful. I got the pork bbq sandwich and it was amazing. Although the menu had all the images as ai generated. Even the food on the menu is AI generated and it looks disgusting. Had the hungry man omelette and let me tell you it absolutely delivers... solid gold in the food... and the sweet cream pancake??? Get it first!! Attempt to try dinner...wife and I received a table, both ordered the pulled pork with two sides and an appetizer of the fried tomatoes. After a little over an hour, we received the fried tomatoes and I had a refill of Pepsi. Also, most tables had eaten and left and new people started to fill the tables around us. Another 30 minutes (1.5+ hrs total) and most people around us had now received their orders and some newer people had eaten, paid, and left. Still no food even though several of those newer people had ordered what we did...a grumbling of the table next to us was that their sides were incorrect...though they sat down an hour after we did. The waitress never stopped by again after the initial drinks and fried tomatoes, never mentioned that our order was lost, never mentioned that our food would be out soon, or that there was en error. While leaving, two more meals came out to people who had been there 10 minutes. We went to subway where we were able to order and receive food! Nice! It wasn't pulled pork, but not 1.5+ hours with no end in site either. I'd give a negative 4 if allowed, and will say god luck! read more

oh my goodness. We stayed just down the street at Tremont lodge. We decided at 8pm to go eat. They're open until 9pm. The place was empty except 1 table. We have a little furbaby dog, and they allow dogs. They greeted us with a smile, and made us feel very welcome. Then all of a sudden, the place started filling up with people. This place is just outside the cove, so at dusk when people are leaving the cove, they are hungry. This place is one of the first places outside the cove in Townsend. We ordered and split their pot roast with vegetables, mash potatoes, and fried okra. It was absolutely amazing. Smoking hot, fresh melt in your mouth pot roast with potatoes, onions, carrots, covered with gravy and side of mash potatoes. With buttered Texas toast. The inside looks vintage, with family charm. Best meal we've had since being up in Townsend. They sell breakfast lunch and dinner. Don't miss this place! read more

If you're a local regular, you'll get great service and basically be treated like family, quite literally. The 180 switch in her tone and attitude between the rest of my travel buddies who were all white and me was so painfully obvious that all 4 of my companions noticed. She then proceeded to forget my tea (likely willfully), and had the audacity to throw the tea bag on the table with a begrudging "sorry about that." I wish I could say that at least the food was good. Nope. Have you ever had a one-egg omelet? Neither have I, till now. Their namesake "Riverstone Omelet" was thinner than a crepe. Watch out for a Guinness record. My companion who had the biscuit and gravy said the gravy was unsavory and didn't have any sausages. So there you have it. Hideous food and horrendous service. Do yourself a favor and go to Elvira's Cafe instead. It's only 10min away from this racist establishment that skimp out on ingredients. Oh and no lemons. After spending a chilly rainy day in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park we emerged out in the town of Townsend. Being a small town I didn't know what to expect for dinner eating places. Thank you Yelp for having this place listed. If you want good old faction home cooked meals, this is the place to go! Friendly staff and great food, met another couple and we shared a table for four. We arrived here just before 9:00 AM on a rainy Wednesday morning, there were only a few other customers in the restaurant so we had lots of option for seating, we chose the second booth near the front window it was clean and provided plenty of elbow room. Our server Danielle greeted us and dropped off a few menus while taking our drink orders - we had coffee and sweet tea the coffee was really hot and about medium strength, the tea was excellent I noticed a few other reviewers raved about it, it's all true if you're a sweet tea drinker this one makes the grade - Danielle was a wonderful server not overly attentive but we didn't wait on anything including the check. We ordered the Riverstone Breakfast (two eggs over medium, two sausage patties, two slices of toast and grits - everything was cooked perfect with the exception of the grits they were watery and I suspect instant not a good showing, on top of that there is no real butter I think it was substituted with Land of Lake's Spread I understand managing the food cost but you need to make good choices I ate one slice of the toast dry and ditched the grits - we also chose the waffle it was nothing memorable but the log cabin syrup made it work. I noticed the kitchen struggled with a few of the other customer's orders to the point I heard one customer apologized for ordering their bacon crispy and another table was missing their eggs on both their orders. I understand things happen but in these times where businesses are struggling to keep their doors open customer service should be of utmost importance. Over all I had a good experience and would return - Danielle ensured we were well taken care of and our food was correct she's an exceptional server. Very charming place. I stopped in for breakfast and it was a perfect homemade plate of biscuits and gravy, eggs and sausage. Amazing food!! Our waitress Chanda was charismatic and super attentive. Had a party of 5 and walked in at 8pm. Staff told us it would be a 10 minute wait but it was only a 5 minute wait and we left at 8:45 extremely pleased. We got the fried green tomatoes and they were AMAZING. What a great dining experience. I had the fried rainbow trout with turnip greens and a loaded baked potato. The trout was crispy and flavorful, the greens and potato were great and the portions were huge. My wife had the pan grilled rainbow trout baked potato and coleslaw. Also great and super large portions. The wait staff were charming and energetic and the food came out in a timely fashion. The restaurant itself has a great old school diner feel. If you can help it, don't go here. We had gotten back to our cabin from going in to Pigeon Forge for the day. We had 3 options that were within about a 3-mile distance because we were tired. This was one of them. The staff were all friendly enough and that is the reason I would have given them a one-star (had I been able to give zero). We waited for 20 minutes, even though there was a side room that had empty booths and a back room that had an empty table or two. When we were seated, we were by the front door, which was freezing with people going in and out (we did ask to move and were told there was no where else to go...?) They were out of pot roast which eliminated one of the 5-6 sandwich choices and one of the 5-6 entree choices. I wanted a grilled chicken sandwich (which was on a previously posted menu on Yelp, but no longer offered). So, I decided I'd get a cup of soup and steak fries. My husband got spaghetti and meatballs. When I ordered, the waitress said they could do a grilled chicken tender sandwich...great...NO. I took the first bite of chicken sandwich, to almost vomit in my mouth. It was spoiled. The chicken tenders were clearly by taste and smell...spoiled. I didn't eat another bite. My husband ate a few bites of his spaghetti and then tried to cut a meatball...nope, not with a fork anyway. After sawing through one with a knife, the meat was gray and obviously, tough. My husband did try a bite of the meatball, but said it was gross and old. So then, he was freaked out to eat any more, so he didn't. The potato salad and the steak fries were fine. Oh, the broccoli cheddar soup was gelatinous goop with two huge pieces of broccoli in it and shredded cheese thrown on top. Whew...my husband was sick with a stomach ache all night.
