My wife and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon around 2:00 and it wasn't too busy. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and they are outstanding! My wife had the country fried steak and I had the open face roast beef. The food was delicious and the portions are huge. We will definitely be eating here again.

The Riverstone Restaurant is a quint little country place that has great home style food. The bologna sandwich and grilled cheese with chilli was made to perfection. The service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant in Townsend just outside from the Smoky Mountain National Park.

My burger. I ordered it to go but decided to dine in since they were so friendly!

I stopped here after running the 5k that Vacation Races puts on. I was fairly hungry and they were only a ten minute walk from my room. I ordered the burger with fries and sweet tea. It was all tasty. The burger could have been cooked a little longer for my tastes. The fries were good and they give you a ton. Staff was super friendly! I also like the decor with an old timber feel.

I've been coming here for 20 years. Always love this country restaurant. This trip was off. The messed up the order pretty significantly and service was slow and follow up was subpar. Still love it but hope they step it up.

oh my goodness. We stayed just down the street at Tremont lodge. We decided at 8pm to go eat. They're open until 9pm. The place was empty except 1 table. We have a little furbaby dog, and they allow dogs. They greeted us with a smile, and made us feel very welcome. Then all of a sudden, the place started filling up with people. This place is just outside the cove, so at dusk when people are leaving the cove, they are hungry. This place is one of the first places outside the cove in Townsend. We ordered and split their pot roast with vegetables, mash potatoes, and fried okra. It was absolutely amazing. Smoking hot, fresh melt in your mouth pot roast with potatoes, onions, carrots, covered with gravy and side of mash potatoes. With buttered Texas toast. The inside looks vintage, with family charm. Best meal we've had since being up in Townsend. They sell breakfast lunch and dinner. Don't miss this place!

Great ambiance and wait staff. Love the oversized tables and decor. The food is a bit mediocre though. My grilled Rainbow Trout was thin and extremely over seasoned. I would not return for what I ate, but perhaps looking though other reviews would guide you to some better options.

The manager stopped by at our table to see if everything went well and if we were enjoying our food. (Which we were!!) the grilled Caesar salad was scrumptious, and the kids Mac and cheese was finger licking good! You could tell that the Mac and cheese was house made because it tasted super fresh. The decoration inside was cool and definitely gave sea food vibes. The food came out very quickly as well as desert. I recommend the cheesecake it was velvety goodness. Even though the menu font was a tad hard to read and the key lime pie was more of a cheesecake feel, it's still a no brainer. 5 stars!!!

We were celebrating my wife's birthday and it was our first time dining there. The restaurant is tucked into a nice wooded area near the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. There is outdoor seating available, a firepit area with make your own smores, and indoor seating which is where we dined. We were greeted as soon as we entered and waited at the bar where Ian served us (he was great) until our reservation time (doubt we could have got in without the reservation). The bar had a huge selection of bourbon including many allocated bottles. My wife had a spicy margarita which she loved. We were promptly seated at our reservation time. Our server, David, brought us some of their famous cornbread it reminded me of couple of pieces of cake except it was cornbread with a delicious sorghum syrup and whipped butter. It was unique and delicious. We started with trio of dips - sharp cheddar pimento cheese, butter bean hummus, and my favorite smoked salmon rillette. These were served with sea salt crackers and pickled vegetables. It was all tasty and the smoke salmon had so much flavor. I had delicious thick cut pork chop topped with peach and jalapeno jam. It was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy and the topping added a fantastic spicy tang. The sides were charred baby carrots, green beans, a spoonbread with red-eye gravy and red pepper emulsion. My wife had a filet with bearnaise sauce and Yukon potatoes with cauliflower, sweet peppers, mushrooms and braised onions. It was cooked exactly as ordered with such a great taste and so tender. David brought my with a complementary piece of pie made with Cruze Farm buttermilk topped with berries and a lemon drizzle. It was a fantastic experience and we were so happy with everything. Everything was pricey for the area, but well worth it for what we received.

You're tucked away in the forest with the most peaceful ambiance in the evening! The waiter introduced the menu to us and mentioned that the ingredients were all mostly locally sourced and or grown in their garden when you first turn onto the driveway. So great to know exactly where your food is coming from! For the starter, I shared the crab corn chowder - and the waiter was kind enough to split the soup into two bowls with my partner. This was a perfect starter! Creamy, a little smokey, and not too heavy like your typical chowder. Lacking in the crab department, but it's as you would suspect with anything advertising 'containing crab' at a restaurant. We were also given complimentary corn bread and it was delicious. Such a nice surprise and I definitely preferred having the cornbread over regular bread! The service was a little slow, especially to bring the appetizer and bread out, but I wasn't too bothered since it didn't seem like we were rushed to finish our meal. I ordered the filet mignon (med rare) as my main. The flavors were spot on! My filet was a bit tougher than other filets I've had in the past... it was difficult to cut into. I also wished there was more of the red wine sauce to balance the richness of all the accompanying flavors and textures. All in all, this spot was a special treat tucked away in Townsend and I'm glad I didn't have to drive too far for a well-crafted menu and food scene!

The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, and I believe there's also a bar area. We were seated right away, which was a great start. Their menu has a little bit of everything, from appetizers and gumbo to customizable seafood boils with different seasoning and spice options. Before our meal, they brought out their cheesy crab bread, and unfortunately I didn't snap a picture because we all devoured it within minutes. It was that good! I ordered a half pound of crawfish, a half pound of snow crab legs, and a lobster tail with the Cajun seasoning, "Make It Hot." Everything was delicious! The snow crab legs were packed with flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the lobster tail--it was incredibly meaty, buttery, and cooked perfectly. The boil also came with sausage, corn, and potatoes, making it a hearty meal. I also have to give a shoutout to our server, Amanda. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. She checked on us often, cleared the table as we finished, and gave great recommendations when we had questions about the menu. If I ever find myself back in Tennessee, I'd definitely come back to Storming Crab!

She was attentive without hovering, had great recommendations, and made our first visit even better. We started with cocktails, and I couldn't decide between the Clover Club and the Crimson Mirage. I'm so glad we tried both! The Crimson Mirage was beautiful, served in a dainty glass with a flower petal sugar rim, but the Clover Club stole the show with its silky egg white foam. We also ordered the focaccia bread and made the best decision of the night by saving a few pieces to dip into the spicy lobster bisque. Do not skip the bisque! It may be a small portion, but it's packed with flavor. And despite the name, it wasn't very spicy at all. I don't handle much heat, and it was perfectly mild. For dinner, we shared the surf and turf with lobster. Everything was excellent. I got to try the filet cooked medium-rare with the rich demi-glace, along with the mashed potatoes and asparagus, which were cooked perfectly. We also ordered the baked potato, and it's definitely large enough to share. Pro tip: use the leftover butter from the focaccia with the potato--it was delicious! We wanted dessert, but we were simply too full. That just gives us another reason to come back. We also learned they have a happy hour at the bar, which is now on our list. The atmosphere was one of our favorite parts. It's dark, cozy, and has a sophisticated lounge vibe. Watching the bartender enthusiastically shaking cocktails added to the experience, and we appreciated that there seems to be both a lively bar area and a more traditional dining room. Raven is a fantastic addition to the downtown strip. We can't wait to come back and try the scallops.
