This place is a must-stop! The brewery is small inside but has such a cozy vibe. Love how it is decorated. Has a great porch with heaters, seating, and live music. They have great merch with great prices, and the staff was so nice and fun to hang with! Loved the beer, had several different ones! brewer is connected to the cutest little mountain store, has food trucks outside, lots of photo opportunities, someone was there making chainsaw art, etc! Such a cool place!

Super friendly staff and great beer! Stopped during the Jeep Invasion and had a great drink while listening to live music.

The interior is more interesting with iron mug's hanging from the ceiling. I thought the Amber Ale was good the hazy IPA was not hoppy enough for me. Likewise the Mexican Lager needed to be a bit more hoppy as well, the best beer I tried was a dark German Ale. The food is brought for free from Amici, but you have to order it yourself, so a bit of a hassle. The pizza we ordered was straight out of an oven and hot. We ordered the Smoked Chicken and Spinach Pizza a 4 on a scale of 5. Rating breweries is subjective Abridged Beer and. Xul brewery to me are a level 5, this brewery is a step below those breweries. Swara has a loyal following and the interior was about full when we left about 6 PM on a Saturday.

And--- they had menus and direct service to Amici Italian restaurant (for those of you who don't know, Amici is a REALLY good restaurant just down the street from this place). So, I was nearly tempted to order from Amici but I was there mainly to do some work and have a drink, maybe a snack. BUT: next time I'll try to go back with eating in mind! A pizza or other fare from Amici coupled with the fine beers offered would be great. (I like DARK beers, they had two quite nice ones this night. I'm also curious to try their seltzers. So again, 4-stars is being picky...but hey, 4 stars still mean it's a great place.

For all of you sweet alcohol drinkers out there: Old Forge Distillery's got you. This is the place…read moreto get the hard stuff that also tastes like an oatmeal cookie or watermelon taffy or a pumpkin roll. When you want to get drunk, but you also need your drink to look electric blue and taste like raspberry, you come here. I'm not the biggest fan of sweet drinks in general, and especially not sweet alcohol. But I wasn't about to pass up an opportunity to taste some of Old Forge Distillery's moonshine and gin. They also make vodka, whiskey and rum. The gin was good! It doesn't taste like traditional gin, because they age it in bourbon barrels, so it has a little bit of a caramel taste to it. (In my opinion.) The moonshine and the cream liqueurs are where you will find the crazy flavors. I think my favorite was the coffee moonshine, which tastes like a wonderfully spiked black coffee. Samples are plentiful. The bartender told us which ones were crowd favorites, and also recommended some that I would not have picked myself. They also have a huge gift shop with lots of tchotchkes, plus bottles of their goods to take home with you.

Really cute concept. My biggest issue, the service. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but the bartenders were rude. So rude 2 couples in my party didn't even end up ordering a drink. 3 stars because I'm giving the benefit of the doubt, but it definitely put a damper on my groups experience!

Good vibe, good food and a great stopping spot for a meal and drink…read more The server was friendly and attentive, told us about the free tasting at the bar after dinner, and made some recommendations. Maybe "pet tolerant", but not "friendly": - hostess was visibly & audibly afraid of dogs. We have two sweet chocolate labs, not exactly menacing creatures. Why in the world would you send a dog-fearing employee to get us seated? - we expected an offer of a water bowl for our pups. Nope. Had to find a server and ask for one. - the outdoor area we sat at is enclosed & gated. A door separates this outdoor area from the inside dining room. In spite of this, 10 minutes after being seated, a separate employee came out and simply said "do yall have leashes?" 1- of course we do, you saw us walk them in. 2- no greeting or "hey, I'm blah blah"... cold & impersonal. 3- why bother with the cost of a gated enclosure if pets have to be leashed anyway? We've been to many pet-friendly restaurants. You are NOT pet-friendly. You happily took our money for the meal, and added a 20% gratuity yourselves (which was not earned btw), but you barely did enough to accommodate our pups, let alone be considered "friendly". We didn't feel they were welcome, and certainly no "friendly" environment experienced. We won't be back. See how Calhouns defines "pet friendly". Y'all might learn something. To diners with pups: You want "pet friendly"? Skip this place.
