I find this place to be overrated, rude and way too snobby. I'm not spending my money at a place that treats me this way regardless of how adorable the clothes are. They gave me a nice drive and it was not terrible to get there or home from the shore to the New Braunfels area. The store itself is in the end of a strip mall. Inside the store. It is fairly spacious and what I would describe as well organized. I browsed around some of the items just to see what they had and it seemed like everything was in really good condition. The item we got my wife called ahead for and asked if they can hold it for a day and they were willing to do that. Which was very nice because when you have a newborn it reminds me of the Steinbeck quote. The plans of mice and Men often go awry and we just couldn't make it there the day she saw the items she wanted. The woman behind the counter was super friendly and a pleasure to interact with. All in all we really like the store for a number of reasons. Outside of getting a great deal, another big concern of ours is the textile waste and product plastic waste from getting new toys, clothing and baby items. They often outgrow them quickly and while the items may be small when you're constantly buying new contribute to landfills. Shopping at consignment shops like this are a great way to help combat that by making sure gently used goods don't end up in the garbage. We really appreciate the store and will likely be shopping here for years to come

If you are mad because they wouldn't take your stuff, one of two things is likely true. One, your stuff is not as good as you think it is. Two, you did not read ahead to find out what items they are currently taking. Remember, you are giving them things you do not want. Don't be so arrogant to assume that anyone else will, let alone someone who would like to sell them. The truth is that this is a great store, particularly for sports related items and winter gear.

I was in and out of billabong with a perfect sized wetsuit in 20 minutes. Owner was very knowledgeable and made sure i got what i came for and that was a properly fitting wetsuit. Staff was very friendly and i will definitely go back to billabong. I'd also like to mention how the owner did not try to sell me on the most expensive and bank breaking suit. During my recent visit to Red Bank, I was wandering around the area off the main drag at Broad Street and this store front caught my eye. It is hard to say what fires one's brain sometimes. I love all types of shops, but when I see a bright, light drenched shop with lots of white and wood, something just fires up my interest. You can see photos of the shop on their site (https://www.shopatforge.com/) to get a sense of what I mean. The store caught my eye and I had to check it out! Inside is a spacious shop with shelves to the left and right and a large island in the middle with all sorts of curated gifts laid out on tables. There are descriptions on every item, which is great because sometimes you see things at these shops and it's hard to tell just what you're looking at. Other times there are items that you just latch onto. There were all sorts of items ranging from soaps, to shampoos, to kitchen ware to an Astrology journal. The common theme was that everything felt elegant and worthy of adding to your home or being a gift. No surprise, as the owner carefully curates everything herself. I wound up picking up a "bag in a bag", a collapsible bag that can fit inside your coat pocket or a side bag. I also picked up some nice hand soaps from Japan. I was told that during my visit the stock in the store was relatively low after the holidays, so I look forward to going back when the shelves and table are more filled with lovely products. Forge is a beautiful shop with a very cool owner and is worth a visit, check it out!

Luckily for me, I live in the neighborhood west of here. I've always ignored this spot for years due to the insanely outdated and weathered posters (really horrible ones, too). However, I manned up and walked in about a year and a half ago and I must say: this place is great. It turns out that Zig Zag is quite historic. Back in the early 80s, heavy metal had its glory days here in Brooklyn. L'Amour's was the place to be and Zig Zag was the place to get records... and meet your favorite bands. It's hard to believe that bands like Metallica, Motorhead, and Venom all stepped through that door at one point. Stan, the guy who works there, has basically seen it all and has not given up his 80s days just yet. As for the actual selection of goods: it's just like any other used record store. You win some, and you lose some. Because this place has diminished into obscurity over the last 20 years, all of the super rare stuff is left untouched and hidden underneath everything else. The prices are a bit high ($12 average for a used record?) though the price is worth it for some records. How Stan manages to keep this place in business after all these years blows my mind. I know he does a lot of EBay-ing, but damn! He must kick ass at it. All in all, this place is filled with unexplored treasures and is definitely worth your time especially if you are a collector of classic rock, classic heavy metal, and everything else related to that from the 60s-80s. Oh, there are CDs too but who cares about that plastic crap?

I had to say to bring my girlfriend over and just ask her very point-blank "what adorable items do you want for your twins because they're all just too cute." You are not allowed to take pictures in the store. The reason is simple, all the items are one-of-a-kind handcrafted gifts. She had a bad experience with one time she was at a tradeshow and somebody took pictures of her items. The next thing she knew she was browsing in a high-end catalog for jewelry and she found her pieces replicated. That is devastating to a crafter who takes pride in their products and did not get a single penny for it. I can respect that. She still has awesome things. Will definitely go back.
