I love their approach to resolving conflicts - talk it out, instead of time-outs or punishments. SUPER SMART! Mrs Harpt even has conflict resolution cards that offer different options for the kiddo to take, if s/he feels wronged. It's THE BEST. I love their focus on kindness and respect. When we aided the other day, the ratio was 5 grown-ups to 8 kids. I mean it doesn't get better than that. I also LOVE that the school offers parent aide (volunteer) opportunities that reduce tuition! So, I know all the kids at the school! Which sets my mama heart at ease knowing that my daughter interacts with all sorts of personalities. That way, she and I can discuss her interactions with friends at home, and she can directly transfer what we talk about. I have found myself in an unusual situation with my husband becoming ill, and the directors (Joanne & Julie) and the office staff (Matt & others) have been so very kind --- I forgot my daughters shoes once, and no problem. I had an issue with some aggressive in-laws, and the staff took it very seriously ensuring that no one NOT on the pickup list would ever grab my daughter. Additionally, they have allowed my husband to tag along with me when I aide, which provides him a sense of belonging, even though he lacks capacity to completely fulfill his role in a typical way. The staff and directors are tremendously empathetic, kind, non-reactive, respectful, and truly lovely to interact with. When I can donate or volunteer, I feel HONORED to do so! Whereas in other areas of my life, it can feel like a burden or resentment.... not SSP - It's a really magical place that fills my heart. I have found a family in SSP! They said they called the child's parents to pick him up but they removed my child from her classroom 5 instead of the child with behavior issues. A lot of children in this daycare are dcs cases so a lot of them have behavioral issues, they told me they mix special needs children with the regular classes and the children cannot tell. They said they don't offer special teachers to be assigned to certain children. No concern for my children's safety was shown here, so I was forced to remove them before my transfer was done. Now I'm out of a job and don't have childcare either. This biting issue could've been very simply fixed but was not.

We feel blessed that she is in such great, caring, compassionate, and capable hands. The school has great activities to help young minds flourish. The kids not only get valuable learning, art, and playtime indoors but they have animals, a garden, and a very large outdoor space which allows the kids to play, run, and have some freedom to explore. They also plan many activities. Over the summer they had a firetruck come to the school to teach the kids about fire safety. They were allowed to get inside the truck, honk the horn, and try on fire gear. They also had water days to allow the kids to play and cool off. Indoors they created a tepee and they made binoculars and camping gear to go along with the theme. They always come up with creative ideas that makes learning fun for the kids. We are also impressed with the schools learning curriculum. They try to make learning fun and often create artwork to go along with weekly themes. The environment is warm, inviting, and engaging. They provide a nurturing environment for young minds and allow the students to feel safe, valued, confident, happy, and part of a community.
